    So I haven't logged into this in AGES but I have been looking around the internets for MLP themed pnp sessions. This was a bonus that there was a FREAKIN FALLOUT EQUESTRIA! I do see however that this thread is a couple months old. Is this still a thing going on? I have been in a couple of Fo:E games before and have a few characters I could use and would be all for making a new one.

    I typically work in 3d but I have tried branching out into more illustrative work using my 3d skills as a tool. I was wondering if I could get some critique and/or opinions on my two takes on the same picture. Which do you like better? What conveys the image best for your? If you're going more technical what does or doesn't work and why in X picture? I am always trying to learn and improve so this is just another step in that journey. My usual 3d style. I messed the lighting up a little and neglected to make it as dramatic as in the following picture, but I can make it look the same. That being said, does this type of lighting/shading look better than if there were shadows as in the next one? My new attempt. As you can see I used the 3d model as a base and worked on inking, coloring and shading from there. I'm still learning on the mouth part and I neglect the other eye for reasons Thanks again for the input! [Edit: Posted in this subforum after suggestion from request guild]

    Never thought of the Roman aspect. Good call That would require a little more work on the backstory on my part since the Roman language is very ornate and detailed. I was also very aware of the meaning behind the name Ezekial. I just didn't want to bring it up due to not wanting to appear like a know-it-all and the religious aspect, of which I am also aware of it and relate to, could lead to some unwanted backlash on the interwebs.

    Yeah, Xenith was awesome! I made a zebra for a Fallout pnp that I named Xanadu, but that was a male character. Ezekiel is good but also is a more masculine name and is also Hebrew rather than a language of Africa.

    That helped, and I feel like an idiot for not catching the Swahili considering that I took a class on Africa Civ. *facepalm* I came up with Dalila Kani, which are the names for gentle and sound, so I guess her name would translate to gentle sound. Still working on story. Was thinking of something like an artist, which this works for, but again since their aren't really much to compare to I am still working on it. Based off the show, it seems like zebras maybe don't follow the same path as ponies in the sense that their names are related to their cutie mark which is related to their talent. If so, then what the heck does Zecora's mark mean!?

    I have made a zebra character and was having some difficulty in coming up with a name. I had thought of simply Aisha but that seemed rather plain. The only problem I really have is not having much to compare to, as their has only been Zecora in the show and most other zebra oc's are variations of that name. I had considered her backstory being that she is from the pony equivalent of somewhere in the Caribbean, but that didn't really help me any in terms of names. Do you have any ideas or suggestions on how to start on naming a zebra? Thanks if you do!

    I personally like 3 and 7. 3 because the touch of gray works as a good counter to all the red tones going on. Depending on the personality, that gray may work well, if her personality is something like say, Maude Pie. I liked 7 because of the big contrast difference between the dark red and the bright purple. It would really make her stand out and to me it sort of gives her an air of mystery, in the romantic sense, which may be helpful considering her name and talent. As for names, what you have sounds good. The only thing I can come up with, taking into consideration her talent being chemistry and everything, is Love Drops.

    Thanks all! I was wondering if maybe the color scheme or design didn't look very good. It was one of the things I wondered could be the problem with my blog since it didn't seem like people were looking at it. At least now I can cross character design off the list.

    I am curious if it's possible to work off of a 3d base model, like drawing over it as a guide, and it actually look like 2d art. If someone can show me how to do it I would very much appreciate it.

    How were you thinking they would look in terms of which traits would be more prominent? Also, would this be a mare or a stallion? Pegasus or earth pony? I assume you mean the regular Whooves and not a specific incarnation such as the 11th or 5th or something

    I made this model for use in SFM and the person I gave it to says that the eyes and wings are not posable. Everything else works. http://sta.sh/02cc3h5muo3t I made it in Blender so I am not as familiar with the inner workings of SFM like I am with Blender. I used the standard pony qc template. I don't know if I needed to import both the open and closed sets of wings into the Blender model or not but even then, the eyes should still work regardless. Can someone please help me with this with fixing it?
