Yep! But I'm a pretty happy person in general. I think that the key to it is being happy with yourself as you are. Don't define your success or failure in terms of society. I may not be the prettiest or the smartest or the most successful but I have my dreams and my writing and books. And to be honest I take pleasure in the little things in life: sunlight, birds, even the recent ever-prevalent crunch of snow under my boots. If you always live by what society dictates as standards for happiness it'll be one hell of a ride.

Oh lord, I have so many... "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter. And those who matter won't mind." - Dr. Seuss "If we all did what we are capable of we would astound ourselves."- Thomas Edison " Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.”- Mark Twain Ok a few more... "And to the skies I'd throw it, the stars would to the telling, the moon would help with spelling and night would dot the i's"-SHREK the Musical "Just because you find that life's not fair it doesn't mean that you just have to grin and bear it. If you always take it on the chin and wear it nothing will change."-Matilda the Musical

Applejack parents. Where are they?
RedMane replied to zev_zev The outcast's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
I think that the episodes all point towards what everyone else is saying: the Apples are more than likely dead. In a family as tight-knit as the Apple's it seems impossible to think that they would never visit, write or check up. Not to mention she, Big Mac and Applebloom all seem to treat Granny Smith like a mother figure. She recalls everything from their childhood, but the parents are in none of the memories (as far as I can tell). And, as sad as it is, I think that the passing of her parents fits nicely into the Apple characters. A.J. and Big Mac have basically had to take over as parental figures for Applebloom (which we see all the time). It also gives A.J. a reason to be so strong and such an anchor in the Mane 5. Plus, A.J. seems especially attached to Sweet Apple Acres: presuming her parents at one point controlled the farm it could really be A.J.'s only tie to them. I mean, Big Mac probably has memories of them but A.J. was probably only a toddler, and Applebloom a baby. Sweet Apple is probably the only real tie she feels to them, explaining her deep-seeded love of the place. -

I still have my favorite stuffed animal! She's a brown, fuzzy dog I got from a family friend at age 5. The friend had a dog named Lizzie so that's what I christened the gift. I don't think I've spent more than a few nights without her. Seriously, I am in college and have my own house and she is still with me. She sits on my bed during the day and sleeps in my arms at night. Her companions are a miniature giraffe with big purple eyes that my sister gave me my last birthday and a stuffed otter I bought my boyfriend (he loves otters) who we named Phillip.

Ok, ok I know that I'll probably receive some hate for this but I, personally, would like to see a little more of Zecora this season. Ever since her first episode she has been my favorite pony and I wish that they would flesh out her character more. She makes such a lovely mother figure, and as much as I like Celestia, I think she fits better in that role. Celestia is so busy ruling Equestria and taking care of things that she doesn't have time to be a continuous presence. Zecora is nearby and clearly cares for Ponyville and everyone in it. I also feel like they had bigger plans for her, then sort of dropped them. Any thoughts?

Has anybody here actually ridden a Horse and/or Pony before?

I have some basic riding experiences. Not a ton, not even a lot. But I can manage myself.- 143 replies

I'm pretty open about it. I don't own any merchandise but I watch the show openly. Well, not true. I try to avoid watching it around my family. I love them a ton but they love to tease and this is a pretty big bull's eye to put on my back. Plus they are bad at keeping their mouths shut so soon the entire family would know. But I'm in college and have my own house full of bronies so no shame.

I think that both men and women are at fault. Women have generally begun to become more independent and sometimes men trying to do things bother them. And yes, some women will get really angry for the slightest gesture of chivalry. I think that what needs to be kept in mind is the golden rule. If you wouldn't mind a woman opening the door, don't yell at a man for it, they're only trying to be nice. But men have generally become less chivalrous. I think everything needs to be a person to person basis, you can't clump everyone together and say "no one is chivalrous".

I think the predominant difference between Celestia/Luna and Twilight is that the first two are nearly god-like in their status, abilities, size, etc. The sisters are still above Twilight in status and respect and Twilight still considers herself below them. The sisters seem to be immortal because I believe they are almost the religion of Equestria. They are Artemis and Apollo.

I think you also have to keep in mind that this show was geared towards young children when they first started. Now I think that they are also focusing on their older viewers so a little death doesn't matter. And I must also point out that it was a plant, not a pony. If Twilight had killed Chaos or another creature in the Everfree Forest then you would have a right to be disturbed. But it was a glorified Venus Fly Trap.
