  1. Well maybe something from here is useful...

    http://alternativeto.net/software/adobe-flash/

It looks like Tupi is the next best option if Synfig and Pencil2D weren't working well for you, I don't think it has any bone functionality however...

Blender is not listed there but i'm pretty sure it does have bone functionality and is capable of 2D animation but since its obviously meant for 3D work its probably pretty difficult for your use. there is website dedicated to 2D animation with blender: http://www.blender2d.com/

  3. i meen signiture idk if i can or not import images in gimp 2 a free 3rd party image editer

You can open a image into the current workspace with the file menu

    ZiTetf5.png

You can also paste a image from the clipboard with the edit menu.

I hope this is what you mean be importing a image, also i recommend opening or pasting the image as a layer so its easier to work with.

  4. I personally enjoy a challenge but it has to be pretty fair, my favorite games are with those simple controls but are challenging to actually complete. Although there are times where i prefer easier and more casual games because sometimes life is too stressful to be frustrated by a video game. Games like Super Mario Bros, Zelda, Pikmin, Animal Crossing and recently Super Meat Boy are my favorites.

If you find these difficult and generally not enjoyable you should really be playing point-and-clicks.

Donkey Kong games can actually be pretty difficult especially the Country games and the Original Arcade Donkey Kong, where even getting over 100,000 points isn't easy at all, Donkey Kong gets so unpredictable and the enemies move very fast while you move slow, plus you can only be hit once and cant even fall down very far.

If you don't enjoy a challenge i don't think there is anything wrong with that, lots of people find life itself challenging enough and just don't want to be frustrated by something they are trying to enjoy. Its a great thing that today there are so many games out there that there is pretty much something for everyone. So play what you like as gaming is supposed to be about having fun :)

  5. Very rarely, in fact there are only a few games off the top of my head i can remember accomplishing this, those being Super Mario 3D Land, Pikmin, and Pikmin 2. Im just not the type of person to have to do everything possible in most games, i feel like it gets too tedious and not worth it. I think it's awesome for people that can do it, just as long as they dont overly brag about it.

  6. Well, I never said anything about my PC already having the CPU. But, I have all the good info anyway. Thank you, now I've got some 75$ to spend!

So you are asking if the CPU is compatible with that motherboard? After some reading it looks like the A6-6400K will not work as it uses a different socket (FM2) then what your'e motherboard supports (FT1).

  7. So you are asking if your PC with the AMD A6-6400K supports the use of SATA devices? Well the CPU is pretty new (released in 2013) so its certainly capable of being used in modern motherboards which support SATA. Now like others have said its really going to be dependeant on if your motherboard has SATA inputs available. SATA has been a common standard for quite a awhile now (first introduced in 2003) so as long as the motherboard was made in the last 10 years it will have no problem wih SATA not even with the later revisons (like version 3.0).

EDIT: so if you indeed have a AMD A45 CH motherboard you have 4 SATA 3.0 ports availble.

  8. I'm assuming you mean Windows vs Mac OS X? Mac hardware since 2006 has been using the same x86 architecture PC's use making them essentially PC's with a different dress and OS. In that case i prefer neither and prefer to use Linux on my machines. If you mean Apple Hardware vs PC hardware then i defiantly prefer the Openness of PC hardware.

  9.

Also, RAM has nothing to do with graphics.  That's handled by the Graphics Processing Unit.

It has everything to do with graphics... You need a place to hold(Memory) all that information like textures, models, lighting effects, etc while the CPU and GPU process them.

  10. Not really missing anything. Linux nerds will swear up and down it is amazing, and why it is better then Windows, blah blah blah. Linux is only useful as a server, or basic OS for businesses. Unless you use nothing but a web browser, linux is no good for home use.

Also OpenGL only gets you so far in the graphics department, the software support is atrocious, not easy to use (even with Ubuntu, The most bloated version of linux there is.)

I only use it on my Chromebook since it is the only thing I can install on it because how hostile the BIOs is against anything other than linux being installed on it.

Considering OpenGL is supported and used on more platforms than Direct3D (Windows, Xbox consoles only vs Win,Mac,Linux,iOS,Android) i would argue it is worth while learning.

Saying Linux is no good for home use is sidestepping it's use in Android, many Wifi Routers, Set Top Boxes's, and other devices.

  11. Looks like some users in the Steam community have gotten it to boot without UEFI

You just need to install grub with a i386 target to the USB device

    sudo grub-install --debug --target=i386-pc --force --root-directory=PATH_TO_YOUR_USB_DRIVE /dev/sdX

replace PATH_TO_YOUR_USB_DRIVE with the full path where the root of the USB Drive is located ex: /media/user/USB_DRIVE_NAME/

replace /dev/sdX with the correct device file name, you can use tools like gparted to find the name or just run the df command, you are looking for something like /dev/sdf as it was in my case.

Since i dont have a extra hard drive to spare right now i have not installed SteamOS(as it reportly wipes the whole drive), i have tried getting it to run in a virtual machine but the installer fails looking for installation files on the CDROM.

  12. It also apparently doesn't support AMD either... my z77 "HTPC" cried as well... though I'm sure there are ways around it :P

but I think I'll need to wait a day or 2 to download it... slow internet speeds and all.

that and I'm having fun installing Arch on the "HTPC" atm .-.

i actually got it downloaded with this magnet link, open it in a torrent client. Im currently still seeding it.

  13. Looks like the SteamOS beta is UEFI only as of right now, my old BIOS system is now sad, and according to the FAQ: dual booting apparently is not supported as the installer will erase the entire disk, since its based on Debian Wheezy 7.1, dual booting shouldn’t be tricky to implement so hopefully they allow it soon.

  14. That's nice.

    btw Tromino: fixubuntu.com

may want to bookmark it :)

While i admire the goal of this website i would like to warn against copy-pasting shell commands from websites directly into a terminal, what you are copying from a text/code box is not always the same as what actually gets pasted: http://thejh.net/misc/website-terminal-copy-paste, you should instead copy the commands into a text editor first to make sure nothing nasty is hidden. You may think nothing gets executed until you press enter but i have had plenty of instances in the past when i was guilty of doing this where commands were executed immediately after pasting them into the terminal.

  15. Oh look a Linux thread! As you can tell from my username i am kinda required to post something in a thread like this...

Been using Linux for over 5 years and have exclusively used it on my PC for 4 years. Been mostly a Ubuntu user (first distro i tried was Ubuntu 8.10 and first i used as my main OS was 9.10) I plan on moving to Arch Linux soon as my main OS and having Ubuntu on the side to keep an eye on the Ubuntu ecosystem. Everything i need to do on a PC works well with Linux, and i enjoy the freedom, the power and control that Linux provides me. I also find it a lot of fun to mess around with :)

  16.     In my opinion its not that 30 fps is bad, its just outdated. There are plenty of games in 30 fps that feel fine as long as it doesn't drop too much below that. With how supposedly powerful these "Next-Gen" consoles are its pretty disappointing 60fps isn't being met as much as it should. Also its kind of funny that Nintendo with the Wii U is meeting the 60fps standard just fine with their recent releases some even 1080p as well when the PS4 and Xbox One are supposed to be so much more powerful.

Some people argue that its early in the generation and its going to take time to optimize and get used to the new hardware but aren't PS4/XB1 using x86 architecture? x86 is the same PC architecture that's been around for over 20 years so as long as a developer has made a decently running PC game before then these consoles shouldn't be difficult at all to work for, this tells me the hardware in these systems isn't as impressive as they make themselves sound and are going to be outdated incredibly fast by PC's at the same price point, many PC Builders would say this already is the fact and will only become more so over the years.

  17. Just finished the main game yesterday and i have to say it is one of the best Mario games i have ever played, i am not saying this to try to sell the game or to be a Wii U/Nintendo Fanboy but to say this is an absolutely incredible game. The game is full of variety and detail, its full of color and life and looks amazing running at 60 frames per second even in only 720p. The soundtrack is great and jazzy, Every level feels like a different kind of experience with the way they play out, and they have incredible replay value since you have 4 characters with different mechanics which really change the way you move and think through the game. I haven’t even gotten to play multiplayer but from what i have seen from others playing it during streams it looks far superior then the co-op mulitiplayer in NSMBWii and NSMBU, there’s much more room to run around in the 3D Space and you aren’t always constantly bumping into each other like the 2D Games. I really liked 3D Land on 3DS but 3D World is better in every way hands down.

It is the best game of 2013 i have played and gets a 10/10 from me for sure.

  18. Reviews for the game are now being posted all over the web, the game is getting very high scores all over. Critics are calling the game the best since Super Mario Galaxy 2 and some call it one of the greatest Mario games ever.

The game currently holds a 93 on metacritic: http://www.metacritic.com/game/wii-u/super-mario-3d-world/critic-reviews

I cannot even describe my excitement for this game, i just want to play it as soon as possible!

  19. Only 5 days remain until the release of Super Mario 3D World in North America! :-)

Reviews of the game should be up on November 19th, and according to a leaked review accidentally posted by IGN the game was given a 9.6/10 score which sounds excellent smile.png

  20. Even as a Google+ user i am not too happy about what is going on, i don’t think its right to force people to sign up for a social network just to post comments. The whole using your real name thing is awful too, if i wanted my real name on youtube i would have made that my username in the first place... Im not a fan of online privacy going the way of the dodo.
