  1. I've been thinking about this for years, and have long said that I want to villains to join forces to be the Legion of Disharmony. ...unfortunately, it looks like it's not happening
  2. Not THIS again... You'll know a show has jumped when it's CONSISTENTLY mediocre/bad, or more bad than good. That hasn't happened here. While Season 6 has had some lousy episodes, so has EVERY season. And while there have been some stuff that usually counts as shark jumping (in this case, Starlight more-or-less joining the Mane 6, Flurry Heart), FiM has still maintained its overall quality (with some peaks and valleys here and there). So no. MLP FiM has NOT jumped the shark.
  3. I dug the self-referential nature of this episode. Quibble is every annoyed fan out there ever, with him and Dash representing opposing factions of a fandom (including ours). Also neat that FiM got another special guest voice in Pat Oswalt. I especially got a kick out of him knocking adventure story clichés even as he experienced them Especially that bit with the henchponies all leaving at once. Also...did anyone else notice the return of Ranma Pony and Usagi/Serena Pony http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/9/9e/Quibble_pointing_at_a_convention_booth_S6E13.png/revision/latest?cb=20160731122831 So much for Fluttershy making those cut outs. I thought there was something off about her being an otaku...
  4. Considering how it doesn't show her face--even using the earlier clip from the campfire story at one point in what looks like a scene where they saw her--I think they've got cards they ain't showing...
  5. Neat, looks like we're an episode starring the GUYS! ...though why would one play a tabletop RPG when they already LIVE in one ?
  6. ^ So...an Asian guy is going to try using a French accent? That sound interesting
  7. No introducing a character who joins the mane (sorry, couldn't resist this time) cast in the Show only to end detracting than adding anything (we already have Starlight and Flurry Heart)
  8. And just hope people don't confuse it with THIS: http://www.movieposter.com/posters/archive/main/74/MPW-37128 KNOW THE DIFFERENCE! It could save your life
  9. Just update them like Tirek, the Smooze, to a lesser extent Scorpan, and even the ponies themselves. This will have the Mane 6 on an epic globetrotting (heh) whirlwind adventure, so that opens the door wide for them to encounter all kinds of unfamiliar creatures. Which some Gen 1 oddballs would be perfect for.
  10. Make it about exploring Equestria like we were original told it would be. There has been almost no exploring. It's mainly been about going to new parts of places we've been to before (several times), in sitcomy slice-of-life stories. Not a truly bad thing (like how "The Saddle Row Review" reminded me why I like FiM in the first place) but more magic and adventures are usually a treat. A longer, more fleshed out redemption for Stalight. Either a better story with Flurry Heart, or just drop her all together. (No. More. Bucking. ALICORNS! ) s has been said, a totally different take on "Newbie Dash". What is with RD getting the spotlight in subpar or just plain crappy episodes I'll never understand No bringing back that stupid map and friendship missions. They'd served their purpose, were played out, and (as far as I know) weren't even missed. Either rework various morals/messages to make them fit their episodes better, or don't give those episodes morals/messages a all. Make poor Applejack less stupid. See, THIS is why she's the least popular of the Mane 6 and why a lot of Bronies like supporting characters (including her family) and even backgrounders more than her...
  11. Hmmm... On one hand, it was an uneventful episode (though at least it wasn't "dull"). But on the other I really appreciate the moral/message this time. I've eaten at fancy/expensive restaurants a few times myself and feel the same as Pinkie did. It boggles my mind that people would pay so much money for so little (and not very tasty) food. An even bigger issue I take heart with is restaurant conformity. Many eateries are made to be too much alike (I know a chain where all there locations have the exact same layout and decor ) these days, as well forced to used the same recipes/ingredients to where they often taste alike to. Heck, there places that used to be different from location to location that have changed to where they're all alike now (not to mention how a lot of restaurants have been remodeled to look like boxes with stuff on 'em than actual restaurants), which I find disappointing and disturbing. So a message about an eatery wanting to be different regardless what anyone thinks is something I can cheer for. Also...I liked that Zesty didn't change at the end. With all the awkward "reforms" on this show (right, Starlight?) it was nice to see an antagonist not change her tune because the plot required it. PS: Goron Ramsey previously got a pony in the IDW comic. Can ponified versions of the Harry Potter cast and the Sailor Scouts (among others) be far behind ?
  12. That's what happens when you only eat small, flavorless pieces of food and call it a meal.
  13. We know Sea Ponies are showing up (well Shoo-Bee-Doo!), and since the movie has the Mane 6 on a world tour outside of Equestria, it got to wondering about other Generation 1 whatzits. Ya know, like the Bushwoolies, the Grundles(Danny DeVito cameo time?), the Moochic, the Troggles, and numerous other creatures that popped up through out the old cartoon. Because this movie seems like the best time to update them for the current generation. It even be a case of now or never...
  14. Over 90 minutes, maybe a little under (.about the length of 4 episodes). Sounds like a good length for a story like this.
  15. A cute episode. Nice to see Fluttershy ep that DOESN'T have her overcoming a fear or issue. Plus, she seems to have come a long way. Though her family was completely different from how I thought they'd be (though how I thought they'd be is wholly inappropriate for this show anyway <img title=":P" class="bbc_emoticon" src="https://mlpforums.com/public/style_emoticons/mlp/eW9KEfP.png"data-cke-saved-src="https://mlpforums.com/public/style_emoticons/mlp/eW9KEfP.png" /> ). In fact, if I didn't know better I'd almost think that Mrs. Shy was a Pegasus version of Posy... <img title="" class="bbc_emoticon" src="https://mlpforums.com/public/style_emoticons/mlp/huh.png" data-cke-saved-src="https://mlpforums.com/public/style_emoticons/mlp/huh.png" /><br /><br />Thing about Zephyr is that he was meant to be the opposite of Fluttershy, much like how Maud is the opposite of Pinkie. Sure, he was an annoying douche, but that was the whole idea; whereas Fluttershy is thoughtful and considerate (sometimes a bit too much), Zephyr was completely apathic and selfish. His element would be Apathy (or at least Douchebaggery), if you will. (What's next, Rarity having a retconny sibling who's to total slob? <img title="" class="bbc_emoticon" src="https://mlpforums.com/public/style_emoticons/mlp/confused.png" data-cke-saved-src="https://mlpforums.com/public/style_emoticons/mlp/confused.png" /> ). Though I must admit that him not trying because of fear of failure is a flimsy excuse. Then again, it's something I don't think I could relate to to begin with, so that may just be over my head.<br /><br />Also liked how the other 5 were handled in this episode, even when they had small roles. (Who else wishes Zephyr had tried working on Sweet Apple Acres? Boy that would've been a hoot! <img title="" class="bbc_emoticon" src="https://mlpforums.com/public/style_emoticons/mlp/laugh.png" data-cke-saved-src="https://mlpforums.com/public/style_emoticons/mlp/laugh.png" /> ). And does any else just LOVE how Pinkie has many photos of one-shot/minor characters in her wallet? <img title=":D" class="bbc_emoticon" src="https://mlpforums.com/public/style_emoticons/mlp/8pfRZzv.png" data-cke-saved-src="https://mlpforums.com/public/style_emoticons/mlp/8pfRZzv.png" /><br /><br />So while I find its moral somewhat questionable because of Zephyr's behavior throughout (didn't really care for the song either), at least it was still enjoyable and entertaining <img title=":)" class="bbc_emoticon" src="https://mlpforums.com/public/style_emoticons/mlp/smile.png" data-cke-saved-src="https://mlpforums.com/public/style_emoticons/mlp/smile.png" />. And that's what really matters.<br /><br />Now if Dash would only pony up and tell Fluttershy's family the team she's really playing for... <img title=";)" class="bbc_emoticon" src="https://mlpforums.com/public/style_emoticons/mlp/wink.png" data-cke-saved-src="https://mlpforums.com/public/style_emoticons/mlp/wink.png" /><br /><br /><br /><br />
  16. Well, that didn't exactly looks like a Changling to me (even with zoomed/enhanced pics). Unless it was one wearing a funny outfit. Personaly, I think it's Equestria's greatets (but unknown) villain...THE SPECK! (you'll never have any idea he's there until it's far too late)
  17. Of couse not. Heck, even comparing MLP to Disney is an apples and oranges situation (or at least kiwis and pears). MLP will be a smaller movie, with a smaller fanbase, with a smaller distribution and smaller amount of advertisements. Besides, I've NEVER (or is it seldom?) heard of a movie begat by a cartoon show (or even a TV show in general) being very successful at the Box Office. The good news is that I think it'll at least make back its budget. Maybe even over if we're lucky. But it will NOT break any records (not even close).
  18. I wouldn't worry too much about it. The MPAA rating systems has long since devolved into a bad joke of a marketing tool and shouldn't be taken seriously (a lot of people don't seem to anyway) I imagine it'll be PG because (bs) reasons, I'll take it for what it is when I actually see it, thank you.
  19. Yeah. After several eventful, or entertaining episodes (even the subpar ones had SOMETHING I enjoyed or at least grabbed me) this one was kinda, well...dull. It felt like a Season 1 or 2 episode, and even then I think it would've been boring back then. Also...this is the kind of thing that makes people like backgrounders over poor AJ...
  20. Not a fan of the lesson--which is one we've had before, and better--but it was oh-so lively and funny I really don't mind While making much of the episode an elaborate flashback within a flashback was a little confusing, but once you got the hang of it it's quite a ride
  21. What I'm wondering is if this means she'll talk sooner or later, or if the poor kid's just a mute?
  22. @ Unlikeable Pony That sucks Though that does explain a couple things...
  23. Aye, there's the rub. Heck, that question is partially why I started this thread. One has to wonder how many they can fit in without them getting in the way or things getting out of hand... After all, our regular cast is talented & versatile enough to voice this sucker by themselves...it's just that we need some special guest stars to attract a broader audience...
  24. It's...THE LEIGON OF DISCORD! (no, not that one) No really, that would be cool. I've long wanted to see the Mane 6 take on a villain team and surely I'm not alone.
