Fluttershy is pretty much the ideal kind of girl for many guys. Shy, submissive, a good cook, beautiful. It's no surprise that she acts as the "waifu" pony for so many bronies. In fact, she may be interpreted as perpetrating the "feminine means more innocent" stereotype, regardless of what she has done over the years. So, in essence, since Fluttershy is often represented as purity, she enforces a double standard for some bronies. For example, if a more masculine, extroverted figure began harassing a docile, feminine figure, then this is often interpreted as unspeakable cruelty, such as Angel Bunny defenestrating Fluttershy over an almost perfect salad. However, when the "fragile flower" treats a relatively manly man like dirt, then it can be seen as harmless slapstick or karma imposed on the man for apparently "corrupting" the "delicate" woman. In many cartoons, we often see women mistreating their husbands, sequences that are played for laughs. A man kicking the crap out of women wouldn't work as comedy apparently as much as a woman beating a man. Otherwise, the feminists would be all over the male-on-female abuse like Fluttershy Hulking out over a firefly (over her friends, way to keep your priorities, Fluts). The bottom line is that Fluttershy is too idealized among many bronies for them to be mad at her.

Fluttershy! I alternatively love her and hate her at the same time! I love her because she's just so bucking beautiful and hate her because I've been obsessing over her since 2011 and she's ruining my life! I want to stop loving her! I want to like her, but not have a creepy fixation on her like I have with her. I want to do at least one thing without obsessing over her! She's so addicting!

Thank God's she not Saddle Rager.

Everyone seems to love Minecraft, though I've never really gotten into it, apart from a couple straight hours of game time on the Xbox 360. I prefer my games to be a bit more linear, thank you very much.

Rainbow Dash is in serious need of pants. Out of context, the previous sentence is a little strange, but I think it would be more befitting of her personality for her to wear pants, since she's disdainful of stereotypically girly stuff. So does Applejack, though her plaid skirt do look nice.

Nah, Flutterhulk was just as bad, a huge insult to her character as if the writers never even met her.

 

But more than the implications, I just hate how Flutterbat affected the story cohesion. Fluttershy's entire stance is that the bats aren't just mindless ravenous beasts that will destroy the farm and have no empathy. Then when she's infused with batness, she becomes... a mindless ravenous beast that will destroy the farm and has no empathy. Then once that's fixed, they're all "Oh Fluttershy, you were right!" What logically should have happened is for Fluttershy to say "Okay that was horrible, we really really have to get rid of every single bat as soon as possible."

The design was a bit too silly looking for my taste.

Whenever Fluttershy is abused in some way or form. God, those fillies were cruel to her back in Summer Camp.
