  1. @Torrent505 Radiance could not mask her disgust for such a lazy stallion. "No, not long. Too busy drinking your life away?" Radiance eyed the mare. She reminded Radiance a little of herself, not too much but a little. I have to remember to ask her name. "I need you to accompany me, we are travelling to the castle. I will give further instructions when there. It most likely won't take much longer than an hour. Now follow me." Radiance turned her body and headed towards the door. She signalled to the recruits to hurry up and make their decision. Radiance was eager to be rid of this place.
  2. @@Torrent505 "Let us say it is unofficial. I have no warrant to command you, but I have use for you recruits. This is a good time to get in the good books of one of your superiors. Seeing that, I am willing to compensate you for your efforts." Radiance glanced at the mare, weighing options. She wanted no ties to this place. "I am only seeking aid from those in uniform. Now if you recruits would be so kind to follow me, we shall begin. It shan't take long." Radiance shifted positions, feeling her leather purse glide across her neck. She hoped she wouldn't need its contents, but the barkeeper's confidence was unsettling. She just hoped its contents, and the couple simple spells she was able to teach herself, would be enough if her suspicions became true. Radiance suspected she had been poisoned in some way, although she couldn't guess how.
  3. Typical, sending a son to do an errand that he does not want to do. "Listen kid, you seem like a sensible pony. Your going down a rough line. Never do what I just did, seek an audience with somepony you have no confidence in. If I were afraid to die, I would have never stepped in this pub to begin with. I will pay for that wine." Radiance reached inside a special compartment of her armour, and drew out a small bag of bits. "Keep the change. If your father comes after me, you may need it for a nice tombstone." Radiance left the bottle of wine behind and walked up to the small group of Royal Guard recruits. She levitated a cup and smashed it against the table to silence them. "How would you ponies like to make an easy bit?"
  4. Radiance smiled as the mayor walked to the secret meeting place. She would have to pay the mayor a visit sometime depending on how this played out. She had evidence condemning her to treason, and she merely had a coincidence. Blackmail is such a powerful thing. The older barkeeper was clearly ignoring her. Radiance did not take being ignored well. She summoned a piece of paper, a quill and ink. She wrote on it: I am willing to wait, but not for long. Do not tempt my patience. Tell your friend that if I walk out that door, you will never see me again. I am a powerful ally and an even worse enemy. And one last thing, bring me my wine. Radiance folded the letter, and levitated it towards the old barkeep, positioning it right in front of his face, forcing him to notice it.
  5. @Torrent505 Radiance stared at the bartender, and refused to break eye contact. "I am not surprised, I was expecting that response. Theoretically even if you could best me in battle, which is a ludicrous notion, do you really expect me to be so foolish? Do you not think that I have many powerful friends? Reliable, trustworthy friends that know exactly where I am. They of course pose you no threat and know not what is going on. However, if something were to happen to me, if they were to grow suspicious, or if they were to stumble upon a certain letter, they will not stay peaceful long. The question is, do you really want the whole might of the Royal Guard showing up at your door?" Radiance became distracted as the mayor and his aid entered the pub and proceeded to walk directly towards her. This was certainly not good. She forced her face to change expression to something mirroring concern and confusion. She replied to the mayor's frantic questions with "I cannot say that I am not offended Goodheart. What could possibly be causing you so much distress? I know the Royal Guard recruits can cause quite a ruckus, but I can hardly imagine them doing something so consequential. Please mayor, I am confused and you appear positively distraught. Come sit and join me, I have just ordered some fine spiced wine. Let us share a quick glass, and I am sure I can put your mind to ease. Then perhaps it is time for some rest."
  6. @Torrent505 Radiance stared at the bartender, she wasn't sure whether to be impressed or infuriated. "You are bold to speak so freely. I may have use of your services someday, that is unless your tongue gets you killed before then." Radiance sighed in annoyance, "I have no need for a bottle, I suggest you make an exception. I am quite 'comfortable' where I am, I think I will stay here. Tell your friend that if he would like to converse he shall do it here beside me." Radiance was distracted by an outburst of uproarious laughter. She spied a group of maggots of the Royal Guard enjoying themselves a little too much. "On second thought, give me the whole bottle. I may have use for it after all."
  7. Radiance's armour shone a deep burning orange in the setting sun. She worked short days, but Radiance was always completely drained by the time she reached her front door. It was not uncommon for her to find notes tacked to her door, without a thought she ripped it off and it levitated in the air beside her as she walked into her house. The envelope was carefully torn, and the letter taken out as she made her way to the kitchen. As Radiance read the letter a cupboard flew open and a bottle of scotch flew threw the air and landed next to her. She sighed, her servants would not arrive for another hour; it was not befitting of a lady to drink such spirits no matter how fine or well aged they may be. Radiance poured herself a glass and took a small sip as her eyes glided across the paper. "On my front door? On my front ****ing door? Do you realize who I am, how easily Celestia could have found that, and then my skin would be stripped from my flesh. These imbeciles are going to get themselves caught, and when they do they will name names, they all do. If they want me, they will have to play my game and if they fail, they will burn at the stake not me." --------- The stench of the tavern drifted through the air and into Radiance's nostrils. She turned her head up in disgust, however she would never admit that the smell made her feel at home. Radiance recognized the place, the pub where most lowly recruits of the Royal Guard willingly drank away their futures and last bits. "Who would ask a ranking captain to meet at a place where she would certainly be recognized no matter how well disguised she may be?" If she tried to blend in it would surely look suspicious, certainly one maggot would notice her, it would surely cause a large scene. Radiance does not exactly endear herself to those under her. She instead opted to blend in by standing out. She wore her official armour that glowed a rich sheen in the pale moonlight. Radiance flung the doors open and walked into the pub. Her expression said it all, she was too good to be here, and no one deserved the right to talk to her. Radiance sat down in front of the old bartender and barked the words "Spiced wine, the oldest and finest you have. Do not make me regret stepping hoof into this 'establishment' more than I already do. By the way, how is the devil's cut?"
  8. Well, my name has two different meanings. The English origin meaning is "rules by the spear" or "bold spear." The Irish origin meaning is "to watch." So in England I am a bold warrior, or in Scotland a pervert!
  9. On the other hand, matter can be converted from one form to another. Given copious amounts of energy, new planets can form from the conversion of existing matter. That is how planets are formed through novae. However as a Scientist, I find it extremely far-fetched that scientists could create a replica sun, let alone an entire universe. However, that is definitely not my field of interest or expertise, so I really do not know what we are capable of in that department.
  10. @@Scribblegroove Golden Shield blinked at the mare as if he were confused. "Too much modesty is a dangerous thing, my sweet Streamsung." He glanced around the room to make sure everypony was listening. He began speaking in a much louder voice. "A keen question, a very keen question! One that I most certainly have an answer for, alas I must start at the beginning first. I am not certain if you are aware, but when the world broke from the cycle of sanity, and decended into the darkest abyss of the most twisted mind, vicious beasts began to arise. Blood thirsty, ravenous beasts with an unquenchible hunger, perputally clawing at their gut. They are steadfast and determined, they will stop at nothing to feed." "I have encountered many more of these beasts than I would care to say, and should have died a thousand times, and a few more for good measure. For some strange reason, I stand before you today, although I am not sure if this is reality or the maddened dream of a relestless soul within a shollow grave. I know some of these demons." "This shelter here provides safety, as long as they is no knowledge of our existence. As soon as a pony steps out from these confines, their scent will waft with the breeze and into the nose of any beast. They will track down this prison, and even if they do not encounter our colleagues, they will know where they came from. Where one pony emerges, there is the possibility of another." "Beasts are far more intelligent then most give credit for. A metal hole with one focal point is easy to surround. They will make camp and wait for the emergence of a delicious snack. With the only escape barred, we will be trapped within and be forced to wait till starvation wraps us in its cold embrace. I would feel much more at ease that when the beasts have knowledge of our existence, if we stayed in the wild, where there is space to roam, then to be trapped like sitting ducks." "I have managed to survive through my wits alone by some bizzare miracle. I am sure that combined we stand much stronger, and will be able to endure the trials of an insane God." Golden Shield stopped his speech, and looked at the others. He waited for any response.
  11. Golden Shield was content to just lay on the floor while the others were talking. He needed to bide his strength and wait for the perfect time for action. He scanned the room taking notes on each of the ponies there. "Emerald Gaze, ever so regal and diplomatic. She is far too similar to myself to trust without knowing her true intentions. I need to make her ally with me and fast. Gentle Secret, as subservient as ever, she will pose no threat. The mystery mare that hasn't given her name, I know nothing of except she responds far too strongly to praise. I must make sure that Emerald does not wrap them around her hoof, before I know if I can trust her." Then, Golden Shield found his moment. The talk had paused, and for what he was about to do, Golden Shield wanted all attention to be on him. He smiled at his own plan. It was a gamble, sure, but he needed to shock and awe them. This could accomplish it. He jumped up from the place he was sitting, perhaps a bit too fast. He was still unsteady on his hooves. He began walking towards the unknown mare. @@Scribblegroove "If what I hear is true," Golden Shield said in the loudest voice he had the strength to muster, "then I am in your debt." He finished the sentence beside the mare, most likely within her personal area. Carefully he reached his hoof out and bent his neck down, as he carefully attempted to lift her leg so that he may kiss her hoof. "No matter her reaction, I will learn something about her, and she will only think that she has learned something of me." @@Demirari, @ He turned away from the mare to face the others. "My dear Gentle Secret here is right. I believe there are three other ponies here, possibly more. They test my patience far greater than I would care to admit." "Truth is the greatest weapon. They will trust truth, as long as too much is not revealed." "You appear confused, Emerald of Mine Eye. I have plenty of answers, if only I knew of the question. Whatever this place is, it was built by something known as Omnine Corporation. There is a member among us that is intrinsically associated with the supposed Omnine Corporation, but he is not forthcoming of any information, to say the least. He, and this building push me far out of ease, as I cannot trust either him nor the Omnine Corporation. Far moreso with this discovery of the dubbed 'antimagic' and you two. I hope we do not have this problem between us. I wish for us to be able to trust each other. Ask me any question you desire, and I will answer with truth, and I shall expect the same. A shield will only work if you trust it completely in deflecting the blows of your foe. Does this sound reasonable?" "However if Gentle Secret's suspicions are true, we are in trouble. I do not wish to raise alarm, as I will ensure no harm befalls upon any of you, as long as you trust my actions. If the others have left this bunker, then we are in grave danger. We should regroup with the others with haste." @@Scribblegroove "But first my dear," Golden Shield turned to the mystery mare, "pray tell your name, as that I may have the decency of addressing you in a fashion befitting a fine lady."
  12. @@Scribblegroove, @@Demirari, @ The blackness that immersed Golden Shield suddenly began to dim to a more natural hue. His mind became slow and sluggish, but there was no pain. Slowly, Golden Shield opened his eyes. "There are ponies here? Why would there be ponies here?" He looked around and saw three mares. They all seemed to be staring at him. His voice croaked, "what merciful power sloughed me off such a cruel reality, into the caring hooves of my own personal harem?" His eyes bulged out when he recognized the faces of two of the ponies. Reality snapped back into place harshly. His head no longer pounded in pain. Perhaps his reckless demonstration of magic burnt off the last of the side effects of the vicious liquid. He looked at the faces of the ponies around him, he couldn't help but feel ashamed. He tried to keep his emotions hidden, but he was sure the others would be able to see. Golden Shield spoke softly, "it appears that I have played the fool. No doubt you all aided in, well aiding me? Thank you, and I apologize for my foolhardy actions." His voice began to grow stronger, Golden Shield was recovering at an alarming rate. "I have already introduced myself to the beautiful Emerald Gaze and my dear friend Gentle Secret, but who are you, my stunning mare? I am Golden Shield, strategist and philosopher. It is a pleasure to meet you all, even if I have thoroughly embarrassed myself." He paused, and then said "I do not understand why I am recovering with such haste." Golden Shield didn't attempt to move, he did not want to push his luck.
  13. As someone who was bullied when he was younger, I have some pretty strong views against bullying. In my opinion the single best thing to do if you are getting bullied is to have self confidence. I know its hard, but a little self confidence goes a long way, trust me. If it is verbal bullying, do two things. Ignore them, and never believe what they say. You know how you are, and you know that you are great no matter what anyone says about you. Do not give them the satisfaction of seeing you get hurt or emotional. If it is physical bullying, stand up for yourself. Don't let someone push you around just because they are bigger than you. If someone is beating on you, don't be afraid to throw a punch. Don't be afraid to fight dirty. Yeah, you probably will get beaten up with this mentality, I have before, but if a bully knows that you are going to fight back and that you are tough, he won't pick on you so much. Remember, there is safety in numbers. If someone lays a finger on you, the best thing to do is tell someone right away. Try to solve the problem before you have to fight. Bullies are damaged and hurt people, if they weren't they wouldn't feel the need to pick on others. Sometimes showing them a little love or care can solve your problems instantly. Never be afraid to tell an adult, or anyone in authority. Nothing but good can come from it. Before I finish up, this little cartoon sums up my views about bullying pretty well (WARNING: extreme language and views that are grossly exaggerated for humour). Bullies by neurotically yours.
  14. I have two songs stuck in my head at the moment. The extremely sad What Have I Become by the great Johnny Cash and the great song Redneck Crazy by Tyler Farr
  15. Walls rose up around Golden Shield. They were made of a grey metal, wrapped in black wires. Red and Green lights flashed along the walls in a nonsensical pattern. Golden Shield looked down, there was no floor beneath his hoofs. He looked up, there was no ceiling, only darkness. There was only a single corridor, illuminated by the eradicate flashing of various lights. He walked until he came across a small circular room. There where eight different hallways spanning out in different direction, each identical to each other. "A hedge maze?" "If I am doing this, I am doing it right." He took the hallway directly to his right. It may be the longest route, but he was going to explore everything until he reached whatever he needed to reach. Golden Shield walked further and further, there was no end to the mechanical maze. And it was always the same. A hallway extending an immeasurable distance, followed by a circular room with eight different hallways attached. Golden Shield walked for what seemed like days, oddly he was neither hungry nor tired. After one hallway, no different than the others, instead of a circular room, he entered a large rectangular theatre. Pillars of marble rose from the darkness on either side of Granite Shield, forming a single path. He walked along this path, and eventually saw something that disturbed him deeply. A large heart constructed of red metal, wrapped thickly in black wires. It was encased in static red lights. It convulsed systematically. Boom, boom.... Boom, boom. The sound almost deafened Golden Shield as if it were suddenly amplified a thousand fold. He looked around the room, the wires contracted and the walls swayed in sympathy with the beat of the mechanical heart. "The heart... the heart of technology." Golden Shield lifted a hoof to touch the mysterious contraption. As soon he touched the cool surface, the heart ruptured, releasing a torrent of black ooze into his face. The force of the liquid sent Golden Shield sprawling. The pillars started crumbling, sending large chunks of marble crashing into the floor with large resonating thuds. The walls started to lean, and then they collapsed. About to be crushed under metal and wire, the world faded to blackness around Golden Shield. He felt movement? It felt so distant.
  16. Remind me to never, never cross Pinkie Pie. She is the only pony that I am afraid of...

  17. Hands down, mine would be Biology. I have a knack for learning, describing, theorizing, etc, about anything related to Biology, specifically Ecology and Evolution. I also believe that I am talented at handling animals, both domestic and wild. /brag. I don't know yet what I want to do for the rest of my life, my current goal is to become a veterinarian, all I know is that I am doing something within the field of Biology. Edit: how that would translate to a cutie mark, I haven't the faintest clue.
  18. I got the INTJ personality type. (Supposedly the rarest type and one of the most interesting types, only about 2% of the population) 67% introvert, 12% intuitive, 25% thinking, 44% judging. The INTJ personality type seems to suite me well, but if there is one thing in this world that I am not, that is a perfectionist.
  19. Oops, misread the title of the post. That would probably have to be elementary school for me to be honest. I do not remember much of my experiences of it, just remember hating it with a passion
  20. Keeping his eyes open was perhaps the most difficult thing Golden Shield had ever done. Pain, weariness and dehydration exhausted his body. Even then a smile crept upon his face as he heard the mare respond, Emerald Gaze. Even during the worst of times Golden Shield retained his calculative mind and flare for words. His voice rasped, "a Diplomat? Silver tongued and persuasive, I will have to keep my eye upon you." His body began to lock itself up, he forced himself to continue. "A lifetime ago, I was a citizen of Canterlot. A strategist for the Royal Guard. I look after everypony. I am... alright, alright... I am." Golden Shield's eyes slowly closed as he fell on his side. He smiled as the world around him was consumed by darkness.
  21. Dam, I am jealous. I have met one celebrity in my life. I met, and shook hands with, Wayne Gretzky. He is actually an extremely nice man.
  22. @ Golden Shield's smile was swept of his face as he heard the mare's response. He could hear noises coming from the other side of the room, but he ignored them. "I dabble, but my dear my words and truth are synchronous." Golden Shield cursed himself for what he was about to do. It was surely the stupidest thing he has ever done, but he couldn't change his mind. He was always a sucker for a damsel in distress. "Besides, at times like these, an ally is the most powerful weapon. I may earn myself one now." He took his hoof off her shoulder and placed it on her forehead. He forced his horn to ignite with magic, sending waves of pure torment through his head and body. He tried his best to ignore it. Similarly to when he studied the green fluid, the world went dark and all that existed was the mare. He could feel her warmth, her heartbeat, her scent. He felt her pain as well. As sweat began to bead at his forehead, he learned that the mare must be dangerously dehydrated. Golden Shield cursed himself again, he was surely a fool for what he was going to do. Golden Shield whispered to the mare, "may the blood beat through your heart fiercely and jubilantly." He did not truly understand the nature of his own spell, but Golden Shield felt his own tongue grow parched and the overwhelming need to drink. He just hoped that the water that had been absorbed from his own body made it to the mare. Golden Shield took his hoof off of the unicorn's forehead and placed it on the ground. He then forced himself to sit down. His body was wracked in pain, light headed and weak. He tried to hold on and gather himself. He overdid the spell. He forced himself to spit out as many words as he was able to. He said weakly and feebly, "feel better?"
  23. Radiance weaved her way through corpses, weaponry and all sorts of discarded items. A battle occurred here, and fairly recently or else even the most worthless items would have been scavenged for scrap metal. Her saddlebags were light, she was almost out of food. That didn't bother her though, she was thankful for the food she did have. She walked across the blood stained ground with a smile on her face. She was a creature born into the thick of death and decay. Death was merely an inevitability that everypony had to encounter at some point. What made Radiance so happy was that after days of wandering, she had finally found a village. A place that she could rest, talk to other ponies and maybe even settle down. She had been isolated from others for far too long, and she yearned to talk and laugh. She walked through the battlefield leaving behind any valuables that she saw. Radiance had no need for anything. As she drew closer to the village her head began to dance with excited thoughts. "Who lives here? Who will I meet here? Are there many friends here? Who will I meet first?" Her head bounced back and forth in this manner, until she reached the streets of the city. It didn't seem like much was going on in the city, but Radiance was excited. So excited she didn't know where to go first.
