I'm interested to hear a more detailed opinion why please.

I'd say Sunset Shimmer as DQ mentioned before. It only worked as it did because the Elements of Harmony essentially brainwashed her and replaced her old character with a far more reciprocal one. It's different from Nightmare Moon/Luna as Luna was possessed by an evil entity rather than simply being an antagonistic school bully that wanted power until Elements of Harmony came and removed her old personality.

As Magos Amphrose said, it's an outdated meme where Aj had few personal episodes to herself while the rest of the mane 6 had a few more starring episodes to herself. Here's an interesting thing to know as well. While I'm unable to find the time chart, it did made note that in terms of amount time total they have in the series, Aj had the highest amount while Fluttershy had the least out of the mane 6. Thus if we we're use that chart to judge, Fluttershy would be the background pony of the Mane 6 while Aj would be the main character in terms of time allotted.

Seasonal rot is such a thing that many shows, including FIM are vulnerable to. However, as A.V mentioned, ending too early is another issue as well to consider like the show Teen Titans, Young Justice, and Sym biotic titan faced. It's why an important thing to consider as a writer for stories is knowing when to end. You always want to be aware of when a character's arc or story has tapped out of potential use and thus you must find a way to end that story so you can move on or continue on to another story. If you drag it out long enough, eventually those ideas are only going to make your series and characters worse because they're forced to become something else in order to attract interest. At the same time, you don't want to end it too soon for it can leave alot of people unsatisfied with the result that they may wish or demand the story continue for a variety of reasons. Thus it's a bit of a skill to figure out when you can safely say 'this story is done, I'm ending', and of course to pull it off well to end on a satisfactory note.

The Cutie Map as it presented an interesting villain motivated by ideology rather than power, involved the mane 6 where they show of how strong their friendship is despite their unique talents, and how it was the newcomers in the equal town that help save the mane 6 from losing their cutie marks. All while providing subtle dark tones at how alien and nefarious Starlight Glimmer's ideology is compared to the rest of Equestria. Next up is Return of Harmony for giving us the gift of Discord, putting the mane 6 through one of the toughest challenges yet, and for giving Celestia possibly her most splendid moment in the show yet.

Twilight: a Corvid bird such as a Raven, Crow, or Magpie as they're considered among the most intelligent birds in the animal kingdom. This would compliment her intellect, curiosity, and her ability of flight. An African Grey Parrot would make a nice alternative. Rainbow Dash: Peregrine Falcon as she loves flying and being fast and no bird is faster than a Peregrine Falcon swoop dive. Pinkie Pie: Spider Monkey as they're very hyper and energetic and she would love using her tail as a fifth limb. Applejack: Shetland Sheepdog. A hardworking farm dog. This dog would best suit her tastes and attitude on the farm. Fluttershy: White Cotton tail Deer. A pretty and shy creature that tries to stick as close to the wilds of nature as possible. A perfect match for the introvert. Rarity: Ragdoll Cat: An intelligent, humorous, sweet, and pretty cat that has all the stuff you want to have in a cat. This matches the more varied Rarity very well.

Meh, not too pleased to see the baby be an Alicorn, but that's what they decided on so oh well. I just hope I can like the baby and not end up hating her. After all, I did ended up viewing cadence in a decent light in the end.
