  1. Yes. In fact, there are threads where I type out a post, prepare to hit "reply", but back out at the last second to continue lurking.
  2. Introvert. I'm not the kind of person who goes out of his way to go to parties and meet anyone and everyone. I wouldn't consider myself "reclusive" though, as I can manage a social event just fine...just don't expect me to hit the dance floor or anything like that.
  3. The longest time I've been awake without losing awareness of what's around me (i.e. falling asleep) was when I pulled an all nighter on a trip from Atlanta to New York last year...so roughly 28 hours.
  4. 330,104...just 669,896 to go.
  5. MLP: Discussed in vivid detail here. Sonic: Back in March 2008, my family got digital cable for the first time ever. One of the interesting aspects of digital cable was the on demand service, in which many different entertainment companies and broadcast networks make episodes of their shows available for viewing anytime. One of those companies was a certain 4Kids Entertainment, and one of those shows was a certain Sonic X. I decided to watch some episodes, and it wasn't long before I found myself hooked on the show. Eventually, my Sonic fandom-related portfolio grew; I soon bought some of the games (I remember Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity as my first) and guidebooks, and joined Wikia in 2008 just to participate in the Sonic News Network and Sonic Fanon Wiki. Looking back on it, those were the darkest days of my time on the internet. Eventually, I grew disillusioned with the Sonic fanbase; while I still keep up with the comics, I can't say I'm much of a Sonic fan anymore. Anime: My most recent (and current) stint with the anime community began in late 2013, when I decided to hop on the nostalgia train and watch old episodes of Pokemon. It wasn't long before I started keeping up with the kind of late-night anime that people usually talk about, like Kill la Kill (which was airing at the time). I've lost count of how many shows I've now watched.
  6. Hey MLPForums, it's been a while since my last login in early April. Season five of MLP:FiM is airing, the site continues to get new users, and many interesting developments have occurred in real life, both positive and negative! Understandably, my last departure was quite abrupt. At the time of my last login on April 6, I was participating in two roleplays (MLP Nations and Equestria Forward), had profiles for several OCs on this site, and had more developments in the pipeline. Unfortunately, life has an uncanny tendency to throw stuff at you when you're least prepared, and even when you feel you're ready, you're really not. College, internships, and projects do that. That's not to mention another change that has been building up more slowly, but is a problem: disillusionment with MLP in general. It's not that I hate the show or the fandom, but I just don't feel quite as enamored with the MLP subculture as I was when I first joined the site last year (and further back, when I became a brony in 2011). In fact, even as my issues and challenges in real life have died down a bit, I was strongly considering leaving this site - and the fandom in general - for good. In the end, I opted not to; at worst, I just won't be watching new episodes on time anymore. Understandably, my sudden departure led to some concern regarding my presence in some site roleplays, as well as the status of my OCs on this site. Hence, I decided to write this blog post to outline what I plan to do with them. EQUESTRIA FORWARD My original roleplay is called Equestria Forward, a roleplay examining life in a cyberpunk, technologically advanced Equestria. The roleplay began in December 2014, and has been maintained ever since. However, with my sudden departure in April, the roleplay ground to a halt, probably leaving some of the active participants incredibly frustrated...especially considering where it left off. Assuming I'm not left as the sole roleplayer, I tentatively plan on continuing that roleplay from where it left off; I don't feel that it would make sense to permanently abandon an RP that has had so much work put into it. I will make a preemptive post in the OOC thread (linked above) by the end of the day; the post will include a link to this blog post explaining the current situation. Also, the slow pacing of the RP will be rectified....somehow. If the original participants left, I plan on "rebooting" the roleplay itself, but the existing treasure trove of information in the OOC thread will stay. I apologize wholeheartedly to the users who participate(d) in the RP before my long absence. If you no longer wish to RP, either out of concern that I'll suddenly leave again or something else, I will not stop you. MLP NATIONS Yes, it is technically discouraged to do so ("users who participate must be committed to the roleplay",) but I will be leaving MLP Nations. I feel that the roleplay has advanced too far for me to reliably participate anymore. OCs (updated on August 2, 2015) As of this writing, I have four OCs on this site, two for each roleplay I'm in, with more previously forthcoming. I actually plan on "repurposing" my OCs in MLP Nations, as I plan on leaving that roleplay. My Equestria Forward OCs, Compass Meridian and High Voltage, will not be touched. That said, after further deliberation, I've decided that my two MLP Nations OCs will be repurposed for use in Equestria Forward. Their backstories and personalities are interchangeable enough to be adapted for the more advanced world in Equestria Forward. I'll work them in somehow. Further updates are forthcoming! Thank you! - skbl17
  7. Local news bulletin, 10:00 PM (Manehattan time) Wednesday, as heard on 95.7 The Buck (EBUC) This hourly check of the news is brought to you by Bolt Solutions, leading the way in technological innovation! One pony, one wingpack. Reliable air solutions by Bolt Solutions. Good evening everypony, you're listening to 95.7 The Buck, Manehattan's most popular commercial radio station! Here's a check of the local and national headlines. The Deputy Mayor of Manehattan, Turquoise Umbrella, was arrested this afternoon on corruption charges. The prosecutor in charge of the case has not yet made any further details clear, but had repeatedly signaled over the last few months that such a charge was coming. The embattled deputy mayor's successor, Side Sweeper, is expected to formally take the position later today. In other news, both spans of the Bronclyn Bridge have been reopened to vehicular traffic, after police confirmed that the suspicious device attached to one of the cables on the inbound span was deemed to be nothing more than an empty soda can. While the Manehattan Police Service asserts that empty soda cans can pose "dangerous consequences" to the general public, commuters' reaction was swift and furious, with angry ponies leaving strongly-worded messages on the MPS's website and phone lines. The municipal government has promised to launch an investigation. In national news, there still hasn't been any arrest in the ongoing investigation into Monday's deadly train derailment in Applelanta. The first funerals for the deceased passengers are expected to take place later today. Security has been stepped up in the national capital ahead of Friday's joint speech, to be delivered by Prince Blueblood. The full details of the speech have not yet been released, but it is expected to center around the Equestria Forward program, of which the Prince is an outspoken critic. The meeting will not be open to the public for "security reasons", but it will be televised on PBE Government TV. Finally, the weather. Meteo Equestria has scheduled a brief rain shower to take place between 5:40 and 6:15 pm tomorrow night, but otherwise, mostly sunny skies are expected. Expect a high of around 61 degrees, or 10 degrees centigrade. You can always find more news wherever and whenever you need it; just log on to the website of our partner newspaper, the Manehattan General-Standard!
  8. (Local time: 2:02 PM Tuesday) It was unfortunate that High Voltage didn't get to investigate that matter further. She still doesn't know how she did it, but Sparkwing came speeding back to the hospital. Before High Voltage even had a chance to say goodbye to Lektra, she was whisked into the TPL truck. She wanted to wave goodbye out the passenger window, but she was disoriented from being thrown into the vehicle. After taking a moment to regain her senses, High Voltage wanted to know what the rush was for. Without taking her eyes of the streets in front of her, Sparkwing answered her question. "Well, um, you see, as it turns out, the bosses back in the Tampa Neigh region wanted us back by 6 PM, not 6 AM tomorrow. I had just returned to the hotel when I got the call from our superiors. Oh, you wouldn't believe how fast I moved everything out of that hotel room!" "Yeah, but we still have four hours. Did you do the sweep?" Sporting a sheepish grin on her face, Sparkwing responded, "Heh...heh...no. I thought that we could do that now." High Voltage groaned, a bit miffed that Sparkwing didn't follow her instructions. But, there was work to be done. ------ (Local time: 6:13 PM Tuesday) The "sweep" only took the pair two hours, before they declared the Applelanta power grid stable and went back home. High Voltage and Sparkwing got back to "home base" at around 5:30 that afternoon. While Sparkwing was busy unloading the equipment from the truck, High Voltage took out a small journal and made a note to herself. "Back home...still no clue on what that device was...pulled out before more clues could be found...should go back when I can to figure out what it does. Oh, but I made two new friends today, so that's good. - HiVol" ------ 11:59 PM Tuesday, LOVE Radio Applelanta, news bulletin You're listening to ELVE-FM Applelanta, LOVE Radio, your source for the best music to set a date to. Hope all you fillies and gentlecolts are enjoying your night. We'll have some more tunes coming up in a few minutes, but first, a check of the headlines from our friends at Radio Equestria. See you soon~ There's an audible static snip, before a gruff newsreader takes to the airwaves. Good evening, it is midnight in Manehattan and 11pm in Canterlot, here is the latest from Radio Equestria News. In Applelanta, the southeastern city shaken by Monday's subway derailment, police have told the press that they are getting closer to a lead, but no suspects have been identified. On Tuesday, a car bomb went off not too far from the City Lights Hotel, not too far from downtown. There was one fatality and a few injuries, but the hotel remains open under tight security. The nearby Applelanta Medical Center was knocked off the power grid around midday today, not long after power was restored to the city following an EMP attack on Monday. TPL, the local power utility, and police have not determined who was responsible for the brief hospital power outage. On a positive note, the public school district plans to reopen on Wednesday under tight security, and many colleges and universities plan to reopen for class Wednesday as well. Many businesses that were closed Monday and Tuesday plan to reopen tomorrow as well. On Friday in Canterlot, there will be a tripartite session of the three national government branches: the Crown Council, the Privy Court, and the three Princesses. The session was requested by Prince Blueblood, who would not disclose further details on the schedule or the content of the speech. Analysts believe that the speech will be on the topic of Equestria Forward, the far-sweeping reform program initiated by Princess Twilight Sparkle more than fifteen years ago. The speech will be broadcast live on PBE Government TV and on various radio stations. Stocks today were down overall. Meteo Equestria continues to hold off on scheduling rain showers, but a spokespony says that the weather agency plans to resume scheduled precipitation on Thursday. That's all from me, I'll be back in an hour. Another audible snip is heard, before the LOVE Radio DJ returns to the air. And that was the news. Pretty scary stuff's been happening this week, but I'm sure you and your loved ones will make it out just fine. More music is on the way~
  9. Recovering from a sickness and a huge college workload. At least season 5 starts tomorrow.
  10. You can't say that stuff with certainty. In fact, here's my opinion: Equestria - and by extension, the world it is a part of - does have its fair share of problems, but we never see them because of the limitations of the target demographic for the show. Hasbro would not approve of a My Little Pony show where there are rapes, assaults, thefts, violence, conflict, and blatant discrimination. Equestria is only as "peaceful" as it is by necessity. In fact, Equestria does have armed, land-driven, and foreign conflict1 and discrimination driven by stereotypes and prejudice2. 1 Applebuck Season (but with pies and wagons replacing tanks and bombs) and A Canterlot Wedding (an attempted coup d'etat and takeover by a hostile foreign power). 2 Bridle Gossip.
  11. So, my username is skbl17. At first glance, it seems like a random string of letters and numbers, but there's an actual meaning behind it. To see it, we have to break down "skbl17" into two parts. skbl17 = skbl + 17 The skbl is short for "school bus lover" (if you want to know why it's then not "scbl" instead of "skbl", it has to do with Gmail.) When I was younger, I was a school bus enthusiast. I was fascinated by these giant yellow vehicles that are given the monumental task of getting millions of students to and from school every day. You could say that I became a bit obsessed; I had several school bus models, owned a red notebook full of school bus drawings, and could name almost every brand of school bus (IC, Thomas, AmTran, Ward, Blue Bird, etc.) and could even tell what year they were from just by looking at the exterior and listening to the engine note. I'm not like that anymore, but I can't deny the fact that I was an enthusiast. Looking back on those days, I will admit that it was an odd phase of my life, but it was just as much a part of me as black hair and glasses. The 17 is much simpler. That's how old I was when I created this account and my "skbl17" accounts on all related websites.
  12. @ @bronislav84 (Local time: 1:31 PM Tuesday) When the group arrived at the Applelanta Medical Center, the generator was starting to run low on fuel. The hospital outage didn't take long to fix at all. The outside lines were fine, and the medical appliances, lights, and computers were just off, not damaged. High Voltage opted to use her magic to do a quick scan of the local network; sure enough, there was a huge choke point in the basement utility room. Opening the door to the dark utility room, the group began to look around. On her inspection, the equipment looked fine, as did the wires. Her colleague Sparkwing's search didn't go well, either, but just before they were about to leave the room, she noticed something. It looked like a small box attached the main breaker system. Sparkwing decided to motion the others over. "Hey, check this out! We missed this box before." She said. High Voltage didn't see anything at first, until she squinted. It was a small box, about the size of a half deck of cards. Oddly, it was humming and vibrating a bit. "Wow, this thing is well-camouflaged. It doesn't seem like a part of this system; it's almost as if it was added-on. What would happen if I removed it?" The mare tried to remove the 'box' with her magic, which happened after a few tugs. At first, nothing happened, but after a few seconds, the power started to come back on. Upstairs, there were cries of "Finally!" and "Thank Celestia!", and while High Voltage and Sparkwing were happy, they couldn't help but be even more suspicious of the mysterious device. It wasn't giving off magic; if it had, High Voltage would have known. If it wasn't magic, she thought, then what was it? "Maybe we should ask Lektra and see if she has an idea. One thing's for sure; this isn't magic." "Good idea," Sparkwing responded. "Oh, and be mindful of the time, HV! Remember, we're still in deactivation mode; we've got to finish that sweep and head back home. I don't think our boss would be too happy if she found out that we stayed in Applelanta longer than expected." High Voltage was about to scold her for using that nickname again, but her eyes went wide. Time...? Sure enough, looking at a nearby wall clock, she saw that it was about 1:30 in the afternoon. Horseapples! I should be halfway done with my sweep of the city by now! They needed to hurry, but they still needed to talk to Lektra about the device! Maybe if they split up, they could get their tasks done quicker. "Sparkwing, here." She tossed her the keys to the utility truck. "I want you to finish the sweep without me; if anypony asks about my whereabouts, just say that I'm in a 'tie-up' at the hospital. When you're done, fill in the report and meet me back here. We won't make it back home in time if we don't split up for now." "What are you going to do?" Sparkwing asked as she grabbed the keys. "I'm going to tell the other utility personnel and hospital security that this was quite possibly outside sabotage. This device is evidence, but I still need to speak with Lektra first. Even though this doesn't seem to be magical in nature, I just want to be sure." Sparkwing nodded, before she went out the door. High Voltage saw her off, before turning back to talk with everypony else.
  13. @@Lordav Bright Idea knew that she would have to be careful with this deal. The national constitution specified that all treaties were to be ratified in the Commonwealth Assembly, and she didn't want to risk sparking a constitutional crisis by approving one on her own. Oh, but this isn't a treaty, she thought. It's just an agreement. I should be fine. "Yes, we do have a trade agreement in place. It's not a treaty, so I don't have to run this by any other body. As for the embassy, you'll still have to secure a lot, but that shouldn't take too much time. Assuming everything's in order, you should be all ready to go in 48-72 hours or so." The deal was closed, new relations were established, and it seemed like things were off to a good start for the new Premier. Unbeknownst to either the diplomat or the Premier, one of the residence's servants, having been present for the negotiations, was penning a letter to the opposition leader. He quietly slipped out and put the letter in the mailbox.
  14. RIP brackets. My (nonexistent) bracket is still perfect, though.
  15. Once, from this site called TVNewsTalk. If I recall correctly, it was because I was a "troll", even though my posts were all relevant...I think. Anyway, in September 2009, a month after my first account was banned, I created a new account. It's now one of the more active ones on the site.
  16. @@Lordav If Bright Idea heard the diplomats correctly, they wished to secure land for an embassy. Fortunately, there were plenty of vacant buildings on the city's outskirts, and she had wanted to occupy as many vacant buildings in the capital as possible. "Within the capital, there are a few vacant buildings that can be converted to an embassy, but the only areas I can think of that have suitable buildings are wards 5 and 7, and they are quite a hike from the national government facilities. I can provide you with a list of open lots and instruct the Foreign Ministry to secure the necessary permits for construction of an embassy, but you'll be on your own for construction and ensuring the building's up to code. It shouldn't be too difficult." Bright Idea paused to take a breath, then continued. "If you want to secure a location near the port, you'll likely have to purchase a facility, as the seaside wards are quite dense and crowded." @ Back in Port Horseshoe, the admirals instructed the foreign vessel to pull into the naval base for inspection and to figure out the next course of action.
  17. @@Lordav (referring to this post) Bright Idea smiled. So the wheat harvest was going well, good good. "Of course you can establish an embassy here; I do not have to defer to the Assembly on matters regarding embassies. As for your request for grain, you'll have to have your government or your businesses get in touch with our wheat farmers, but the Government of Impalarana will not interfere in the process and will notify some of our biggest wheat producers." She motioned for her communications director to send a telegram to the nation's wheat producers regarding Ponssia's request. Just as he was about to do so, another pony fervently ran into the room. @ (also in reference to this post) "Miss Premier, we just got word from Port Horseshoe that there's a vessel near the port bearing foreign flags. One of the admirals wished to let you know, but he suspects that it's a foreign nation that wishes to open diplomatic relations." Bright Idea thought for a moment, then turned back to the servant. "If they wish to open relations, they'll have to see me. I'll have time to see them tomorrow."
  18. @@bronislav84 (Local time: 11:04 AM Tuesday) Well, that was quite the explanation. High Voltage was intrigued at the fact that Northfields was upgraded to magitek, instead of the regular hydroelectricity that regional power plants typically use. Now that she thought about it, she did notice a latent magical signature last night in the electric system when she was out repairing the power grid. In fact, she was now a bit concerned; she didn't think that regular appliances could handle being powered by magic. Oh well, she hadn't heard about spontaneous power outages because of that, so it was okay. Anyway, High Voltage knew that she still had to address Lektra, so she turned to her. Sparkwing answered Lektra's first question. "She doesn't like being called 'HV', so I don't recommend using that nickname unless you want to mess with her." "Thank you, Sparkwing. I sincerely hope that you'll take your own advice into consideration one day." High Voltage responded. "So, Lektra, that was a good explanation. When you mentioned that Northfields now runs on magitek, I will admit that I was concerned at first. Most appliances and technology around here are new and not magic-driven, so I was worried about spontaneous power outages occurring because of the possibility that the machines and devices around here wouldn't be able to convert magitek to regular electricity. Thankfully, it seems as if my concerns were overblown. "As for magitek adoption, I could see why adoption is so low. It's not just about skill, but also what's happened in the last 15 years. While some technological devices run exclusively on magic, most don't, especially in the cities. Hence, you're more likely to see rural electric cooperatives use magitek-based plants, not the more urban-centric utilities like TPL. Hopefully, if TPL's magitek gambit is successful, other utilities will adopt the technology, especially if it's impervious to EMP and other attacks. Time will tell." Soon, the phone rang. Sparkwing got up to answer it. "I'll answer it, HV; you can keep talking to Lektra." It's too bad there was an employee code of conduct, because on days like this, she seriously felt like ripping her partner's ears off. "One day she'll stop." High Voltage murmured. As she was about to continue her conversation with Lektra, though, Sparkwing hung up, turned around, and grabbed her senior colleague. High Voltage looked genuinely irritated. "What is it?" "I just got a call from the Applelanta Medical Center. No power. The patients are okay and the hospital is running on a generator." High Voltage's eyes widened in shock at first, but once Sparkwing mentioned that the patients were fine, she relaxed a little. As she levitated her hard hat, she asked, "Possible reasons?" Sparkwing put on her own hard hat before responding. "There are already a couple of crews out there. Apparently, it was spontaneous; the lines are fine, and there's power feeding into the hospital, but none of the devices, lights, or computers are responsive. Maybe it's that whole conversion issue you were talking about." "That doesn't seem possible," High Voltage said as she headed for the door. "Northfields came back online last night, and there were no power outages related to the plant's magitek-based operation. Also, AMC got its power back just before 9pm yesterday, so if there was a conversion issue, there would have been an outage last night, not now." Something else has happened, she thought as she opened the door. Before leaving, High Voltage turned back to Lektra and Sparky. "Okay, you two can stay in here if you want. If you want to order room service, that's okay, just don't order too much. We'll probably be back in a few hours."
  19. @@bronislav84 (Local time: 10:58 AM, Tuesday) High Voltage started to speak. "No, you haven't made a bad impression; at least you're not the one firing EMPs or making car bombs or derailing trains. Anyway, I'm High Voltage, senior linepony with Tropicala Power and Light, the incumbent electric utility in the region. My friend over there is Sparkwing, junior linepony." "Nice to meet you." Sparkwing responded. "High Voltage and I have been working together for a couple of years now." "We're actually not from around here, we were called up from the Tampa Neigh area yesterday to help out with the outage situation. Initially, we were going to help out at the Northfields Power Plant northeast of here, but we were turned back at the last minute. Apparently, TPL hired outside help from a company called 'Bolt Solu...tions...'" She trailed off. Sparkwing seemed concerned. "You okay, HV? You just stopped talking." Bolt Solutions...that name sounded familiar. Wasn't that the company that was hired as outside consultants at Northfields? If that was true, then that meant this unicorn mare was the one who...well, she certainly wanted to meet her someday. Didn't think it would be so soon. Thank Celestia she still had an hour or so before she had to head out, as she wasn't about to let this opportunity pass her by.
  20. @@Lordav At first glance, the deal sounded good enough. Ponssia had opened its eastern ports, and was searching for reliable trade partners. The "riches" part also sounded good, so on that front, the deal seemed even better. It's not like Impalarana had nothing to trade, and with harvest season right around the corner, the young Premier was confident. Plus, it's not like the national economy wasn't diverse; there were plenty of manufactured goods to go around and keep the country's economy healthy, even if the wheat harvest didn't go over well. She would finalize the deal. With the UCP majority she enjoyed in the Commonwealth Assembly, she should have no problem getting it ratified, either. The diplomat gave off an aura of authority, so she would have to be as formal as possible. Bright Idea began to speak. "First, on behaIf of my country, I would like to formally welcome you to Impalarana. As for your request, the government would be honored to conclude a trade agreement with Ponssia. While we can discuss the specifics here, for any treaty to be concluded, my country's Commonwealth Assembly must ratify the final product. Hence, it may be a few days before any agreement we conclude here can be made effective on Impalarana's end. "Fortunately, I do have enough support to comfortably push an economic agreement through the Assembly, so there should be no issues." @ Naval Station Starhoof, near Port Horseshoe, Impalarana An admiral monitored the coastal waters on the country's southern coast, using his binoculars to watch for ships. Things seemed calm in the waters immediately facing the naval base, and there was a bit of fishing activity in the coastal waters facing the nearby city of Port Horseshoe. There was even a vessel bearing foreign flags, how nice... ...wait, a vessel bearing foreign flags? Inspecting the ship a bit closer, the admiral confirmed that it wasn't a military ship. As is protocol when dealing with non-belligerent foreign ships, he ordered a group of captains to ready a naval boat to meet the foreign vessel. He would sail out there to meet whoever was on the ship; if they were diplomats, he'd have to find time to bug the new Premier about them.
  21. Not on the radar, but "good" I guess. Yeah, I'm the guy who likes to type overly-verbose posts in some threads. What should be answered in two sentences instead takes me two to three paragraphs. Then there's one of my RP threads, where some of my posts can easily take up half a textbook. I like detail.
  22. @@Lordav "Oh, um, very well. Just be sure not to run over any of our residents." With that, the expedition was escorted by police to 15 River Street to meet with the new Premier. --- 15 River Street, Mustang City, Impalarana Now that she was settled in, Bright Idea finally had a moment to relax. The time would be short-lived, as the travelers would be there within half an hour. Even with this short window of "relaxation time", the young Premier couldn't help but be a little nervous; she had never negotiated with foreign entities before. In fact, now that she thought about it, she only won the general election because of her stands on domestic issues. The UCP never really established a position on foreign policy, so on that front, she would have to go it alone for the moment. It was definitely going to be discussed at the next party conference, that was for sure. In the meantime, she decided to occupy her time by drafting her first public order. Public Order #1 would fulfill the personal goal she set when running for office in the first place: order the state prosecutor to reopen the long-abandoned investigation into the arson at her old secondary school that killed some of her friends. In the order, she also added a clause requiring the state prosecutor to report to her every 30 days; Bright Idea was not going to allow the state prosecutor to abandon the case once again. It would reach a conclusion, and she - and the families who lost their loved ones in the fire - would finally have closure. After twenty minutes, Bright Idea put the fountain pen down. In a way, she wanted to deliver the order to the state prosecutor personally, but she knew that she only had a few minutes before the foreign travelers arrived. In a rush, she called one of the servants into the Gold Room. "Please deliver this order to the head of the Justice Commission," she asked. "As soon as physically possible." "Yes, Miss Premier." With that, the servant took the public order and left the room. Bright Idea sighed, but it wasn't a depressed sigh. She was relieved. Finally, this decades-long saga can come to an end, she thought. Now, on to the issue with the travelers. She waited, but the wait wasn't long. Within two minutes of the servant heading out the door with P.O. #1, another servant peeked in the doorway and made the announcement she was waiting for. "Miss Premier, the travelers are here." It was time. "Send them in."
  23. No, I don't. Why WOULD I-OH DEAR CELESTIA HELP MY CAPS LOCK BUTTON IS BROKEN but shift still works HELP I CAN'T TURN IT OFF. NOW I'LL BE STUCK using the Shift key FOREVERRRRR!
  24. @@Lordav The police officers and port security personnel backed off once the travelers stated their reasons for showing up. As that was happening, the telegraphed reply came in from 15 River Street. After reading the short, one-sentence order, the head pony in charge was a bit baffled. "Huh, she's giving us discretion. Don't we have to go through three different agencies, though? Oh well." Having already determined that the travelers posed no threat, they were granted permission to see the Premier. "Well, you have our permission. Now, because this is on such short notice, we don't have any prearranged transportation for you. A small police regiment will escort you to the Premier's residence, but the journey will have to be on hoof. It should take about twenty minutes or so."
