  1. Defiantly grabbing this. This and something like GIMP for making sprites has some possibilities. Been an age since I made a game and even that was for school, a Text based version of Deal Or No Deal in a command window with C. Not C# or C++, just C. Using an out of date free compiler required by the school. Mentioning that makes me want to go dig it back up now. Ah the self induced nostalgia.
  2. Died in a few dreams myself. I am one of those people who can only ever remember vague details I sleep so deep, but I do remember that much. Off the top of my head I recall the first time it happened was due to physics breaking and reversed the concept of kinetic energy dampening. Put simply I jumped once and started bouncing, going higher each time, until I landed and went splat when I hit a slope from about 300ft in the air. Aside from the first I recall the common drowning dream, skydiving accidents, and more than a few scenes right out of modern combat. Dieing usually does not wake me up interestingly enough, likely due to the fact that I sleep like a dead man already. I have slept through at least a dozen tornadoes over the years, one of which I recall as a class three that ripped up trees only 3 streets over. But I usually don't remember my dreams because, deep sleeper. If I have to take decongestants however things get decidedly more... interesting. One of the best could be summarized as walking around a technical college campus in a dolphin mascot suit for three hours after a funeral before running from the cops, diving into a pool, following a secret underwater tunnel in the pool using my dolphin-suit-granted powers, coming up in the ocean, and then joining the Navy as a Special Operations Operator... Thanks NyQuil.
  3. The fly-overs are always a fun thing to notice, and due to where I live it happens quite often. I live near a military installation and an international airport, so it seems like there is a constant buzz of rotors and engines in the air. I have seen many even fly close enough to identify. Chinook is the most common, least one about every Wednesday, but I have seen a few Blackhawks around, about half a dozen Littlebirds and I swear even a few Apache Longbows. I have heard so many helicopters I can make a good guess at how big it is by the sound alone.
  4. Excellent, another new friend. I welcome you, from one new guy to another. Gotta say, I'm assuming you made your suit there, it looks like you did a wonderful job putting it together for yourself.

  7. Dashing Duke ekuD gnihsaD Sound vaguely Japanese to me.
  8. Call it whatever you want, feel free to invent a new term. Who know, it might even catch on. Brony is just the most commonly used term, derived obviously from 'brother' and 'pony' For all the difference it makes in the world call yourself a 'pony enthusiest' say you are 'ecstatic about equines' 'crazy for colts' 'fanatic about fillies' 'awesome at alliteration' so long as you are comfortable calling yourself that it is a correct term to use.
  9. Well it seems like someone has to come out and say it. I am not creative, I just have a good head on my shoulders. My writing lacks go, the art just won't flow, music is woe and the video goes slow... So I guess I'm a consumer, with ever good humor.
  10. Been a busy day. Math, History, Minecraft, writing a paper for school, writing a paper for my forum welcome thread...

  11. My Favourite Mane 6 Pony: Fluttershy How did you find MLP Forums?: Always knew it was here, just never really came by for a visit. How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: TL:DR I was 'voluntold' (combined word from 'volunteered' and 'told') as/to-be a bronyThis requires a bit of a tale to explain so kick back, relax, and prepare your eyeballs. Part the First, background As of early 2014 I am 19 years of age, average guy, lanky build, unremarkable fitness, somewhat remarkable intelligence, a strong desire to read (especially fiction), and a penchant for bad puns and jokes. I have never been a rather social person, but am by no means of a disagreeable personality, I merely lack that outgoing 'Spark' Additionally I have been playing Video Games since literally before I can remember. Part Deux It began early in the year of 2011, I heard the first mention of the show from a friend in High School. Nothing big, just a joke within friends over lunch. I don't even remember it properly, but I believe it was a joke about winter finally wrapping up in February. Fast-forward a bit, school is about to let out, a few friends I know express their excitement about various shows season finales. Among them is, interestingly, Season 1 of MLP:FIM is among their number but I pay it no mind. Tres November 2011, Luna Eclipsed has aired and with it spread such lines as 'The Fun has been DOUBLED' Due to my afore mentioned penchant for puns Lines such as this made their way into my repertoire just as other lines like 'OVER 9000' had. As I have with many of these adopted humors, I did a look up on their origins and any alternate meanings, both for the sake of knowing, and to avoid possible future offense. I do not at this time watch the show, though I watch about 5 minute portions on the origins of the jokes in question. I DO however find my way to things and people such as Wooden Toaster, Mic the Microphone, Living Tombstone, and such music creators. 4th Quarter Been a while, it is now August 2012, I have join my schools theater program as a stage hand and a class of Technical Theater. Among this merry band of techies as we are known are a few friends I had made in class and at lunch the previous year. These few friends have me meet a few more of their friends who are also working backstage. Much to my surprise I shortly discover that most of them are Bronies. Rewind Now I had become vaguely familiar with this term as the previous year I made a friend in an upper class-man who was a self-proclaimed and proud furry. From that I investigated the internet and found many... things... both horrific and benign. This also gifted me with an appreciation of anime, which was a smooth progression from my previous, and current, infatuation with video games. This new-found interest in anime combined with my love of reading fiction in turn, lead me to Fan-fiction in all of its unshaven beauty. Tangent So back stage we have little to do but sit and talk in the back hallway as the play we are performing is a one act. Once we had the set built out job was simple. Stand in the wings, some of us(Cough, me and 3 others) support about a hundred pounds of wood on our backs apiece. Wait for the signal, move the set in position precisely, I picked a bookcase off of the floor, positioned it, helped move a couch, and others would bring the 3 pieces that make up the walls from the wings as well and position those pieces against ours. Did I mention this had to be done in 30 seconds or less? Well yeah, there's that. Chew'in the Fat As conversation will within friends it wandered to topics of interest, and that wandered to shows, and that to FIM. So in this back hallway, while the play is going on, we have 3 bronies, a girl who is not a fan, and myself. Someone mentioned excitement about the upcoming season of FIM (Season 3) and everybody started losing their minds, well almost. The 3 bronies started going crazy other it, speculating wildly and being excited. The girl just looked at them with amusement and an expression that screamed 'really guys? really?' And then you have me, being amused and not-a-brony. This pattern repeated, with variation, until November. 'The Crystal Empire' episode launched. it was about this time as well that we had our final performances at our home theater. All this time I made a variety of Internet meme jokes, bad anime references, horrendous puns, and yes, a generous smattering of Pony Jokes as well. Probably my closest friend in our Techie circle finally snapped and declared that I should stop making such bad pony puns, or just become a brony already. My main excuse at this time was that I had not seen the show and next rehearsal he brought his laptop, sat me down, and all but made me watch Season 1 Episode 23 'The Cutie Mark Chronicles' Here is your membership card Sir And there you have it, the point where I officially became a brony. I would not sit down and watch much more until the conclusion of our shows extended competition run in March of 2013. Round about June I watched more, finished season 1 and got through until "Read it and Weep" before life got busy again and I put it down. To this day I am still woefully behind, but that is alright. The show is nice and all but I prefer derivative works. These works include such songs as "Discord" "Beyond Her Garden" "Diamond Dogs" "Never Ending Strife" "Loyalty" "September" "Nightmare Night" "20 Percent Cooler" "Great To Be Different"... you get the gist by now I trust? These are the parts I enjoy the most, along with the amiable atmosphere that seems ever-present among the Brony-kin. Above even these perhaps, my favorite gem is the most familiar in a sense. FimFiction And there you have it folks, in its full and daunting total. To those who made this read congratulations, this was just shy of the 1K mark and myself not being a writer of any repute it was likely tedious and I appreciate your making the effort and I hope you did enjoy the tale.
