  1. I'll weigh in on this: There are a couple of variations for how the term furry is used, I make no claims as to how legitimate any of them are: 1) Someone who views themselves as, or dresses up as an animal. 2) Someone who is specifically sexually attracted to animals or anthropomorphic characters.. 3) someone who simply likes anthropomorphic cartoons. I don't entirely understand the third definition for furry. I doubt there is a person alive anymore who hasn't seen a WB or Disney cartoon or something that hasn't had human intelligence animals/anthro characters in it, and at least enjoyed an episode here or there, so spreading the definition that thin would mean you might as well just use the term "person" so I can really only personally work with the term "furry" from the first 2 definitions. Using furry in this sense would be like saying that simply hearing an ICP song makes you a juggalo or having long hair makes you a hippie. Brony is a much more simply defined term; 1) someone who watches MLP and enjoys it for reasons beyond merely "they are cute colorful ponies!" There really isn't any more accurate definition than that. So with that understanding, the two terms are completely separate. There may however be a fair number of individuals that fall into both categories. If a person is a furry, they may become a brony because of their attraction to the characters, but that attraction is hardly the only reason why someone might become a brony. Likewise, a brony might decide to adopt a pony or animal persona as a form of self expression, or dress up in a full pony outfit as an expression of their fandom, thus possibly fitting the first definition of a furry. Not dressing up as ponies or looking at pony porn doesn't make you any less of a brony, so there really isn't even any real overlap of the two terms, but merely that they are parallel interests, and a person in one group might easily find interest in the other.
