I have never even been close to crying because of the show.

Really, it's not worth crying over most of the time. There are things in life that are far sadder than MLP. The only things associated with the fandom that I think are acceptable to get teary over would be My Little Dashie or Snowdrop.

I don't know why but I've always had the feeling that the voice actresses don't really care much for the show or the fandom despite their central role in it.

So here is something I have thought about for a bit, and please note that I find all of the following scenarios saddening and I don't wish them to come to fruition.

What would happen if a sudden and tragic event hit the fandom? Like say one of the voice actors/actresses being killed in a car crash or something like that, or say that one of the staff members did something illegal and as a result got fired or arrested. How volatile would the bronies be in this situation? I feel like those mental midgets that some call "anti-bronies" would rejoice in our sufferings and throw it in our face, and we might rage pretty hard on keyboards. Also, would be hold together as a fandom in the face of tragedy? Will the show go on?

I'm probably like a 7, but privately. I really obsess over the show and spend a lot of my free time browsing brony-related stuff. But, I can't say I can go higher than that because I don't talk about it that much in public, I don't own any merch yet, and frankly there are a lot bronies that annoy the hell out of me.

I always have and always will think that clopping is disgusting. I don't really care if you are a clopper and if thats your thing, but I just don't want anything to do with it. I will love and tolerate you all the same.

Anyway, its really a shame that an army of anti's will probably come onto his videos. If they were smart, they would respect the fact that clopping turns some people on and that it should be their personal business and they have no right to judge, but alas, anti-bronies aren't like that.

Idk but it's pretty immature. He doesn't need to make a whole song about hating someone.

So I have only been a brony for about 4 months now, and when I let all my friends know, I got mocked a lot. But one of my friends was really curious as to why I liked the show, and after giving it a shot, he decided he liked it and thus became a brony. However, he made me promise to never tell any of my other friends and to keep it a secret. I appreciate that he's joined the herd, but whenever I get into a situation where I'm being derided for watching MLP, he is silent and scared to be uncovered.

What do you think of bronies that you know are closet bronies? Do you find them cowardly? Does it annoy you that they sit on the sidelines whenever MLP comes up in conversation to protect themselves?

Personally, I don't really mind. If they were insulting me to save face, then I would mind, but that situation currently hasn't come up with any of my friends.

I feel like MLP will have an easier time of appealing to people for awhile. Lets face it; the storyline and acting in a show like Breaking Bad is better than it is in MLP. MLP doesn't exactly have the bar set very high for itself, and it's more the animation style than the storyline that attracted people in the first place. I think they can go for a looooong time!

I can't even imagine the unholy storm of fire that would start if they actually had any homosexual relationship between two characters on the actual show. Not that I have a problem with it, but if pushy moms aren't going to accept the character with the derpy eyes that was "portraying a mentally disabled person," then they're going to loooove this.

However, this fandom is built on the slogan "love and tolerate." So cloppers don't bother me. I don't really care what they do. I will love and tolerate them all the same. Just please don't involve me in it, and keep your clopping private or in a secluded area.

I think that the translation from EQG to MLP doesn't work consistently. For instance, Cheerilee is a teacher while the mane 6 are students, but as ponies, in a flashback it is revealed that Rarity made costumes for Cheerilee in the school play, thus making them around the same age. So yeah...

I'm not really sure what a good age translation would be.

I have met people on both sides of the spectrum, just like with anything. You can't look at one person and judge a crowd. Are there stereotypical bronies? Yeah. But there are a lot of normal people too!

• People have been saying this, along with a list of other negative, groundless claims that could fill a dictionary-sized book since halfway through season 1
• Hasbro is extending the show and franchise for several more years due to the incredible popularity, size and diversity of the fandom

I'm gonna say 'yes, yes it is alive and well' :3 People like to think they can rationalize and make reasons for why something is or isn't happening, but the reality is, communities are living organisms, and are thus both unpredictable, and sturdy. The most one can say is that there will be dips and climbs, and that it's unlikely to explode exponentionally like it did through seasons 1 and 2. Past that, take everything anyone says with a grain of salt Fandoms do not just 'die off', ever, especially from things that have become all all but popular culture, as this fandom is on its' way towards.

 

Note: People also like to draw no line between 'Parts of the fandom are changing and adapting to something I don't like' and 'it's declining', a lot.

Yeah I definitely agree with you. One of my friends the other day tried to convince me that they were going to cancel the show soon, but I think it's going to be around for like another 5 seasons at least. Hasbro is making too much money off of toys and there are also little girls watching the show along with the bronies. Plus, MLP is a regenerable form of media/marketing, so even if G4 is canceled one day, i'll be damned if they don't try to make a G5.
