  1. Like other fandoms before it (Doctor Who, Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Twilight, etc), I have a feeling that the FIM fandom will go on for a good long while even after the show ends. There will still be conventions and fan works to enjoy.
  2. I honestly hope they do get their cutie marks, as this subplot is getting extremely boring. "Bloom & Gloom" seemed to imply that both Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo know what their special talents are, so maybe they'll get their cutie marks this season.
  3. I didn't much care for this episode, but the continuity nods and ending were great
  4. I do believe that friendships are starting to decline in this generation. One of the major factors, I think, behind this is technology. It pretty much hinders social interaction and developing good social skills. For example, my little sister told me that at her elementary school when they have free time, instead of playing games with one another and getting to know each other, they played on their iPads and DSIs. Whatever happened to getting to know your classmates? Also, another contributing factor is parenting. Some parents don't teach their kids good communication skills and how to interact with others. They think that if you place kids in social situations, these skills will occur naturally. My parents were this way, so this could explain why I'm so shy and terrible at making friends and initiating conversation. However, I like to think that this show is opening doors to friendship yet again.
  5. Is it just me or are the villains getting kind of bland? One of the major problems I have with the villains is that none of them are ever given a clear motivation for why they're doing what they're doing, aside from Princess Luna. Starlight Glimmer seems to follow this trend, as we never learned her motivation or how she developed this backwards thinking in terms of friendship. This lack of a motivation makes it very hard to like or care about these villains. Not giving them a motivation makes them seem less three-dimensional. I hope we get more information on this new villain, but knowing these writers, I'm guessing not. But, hey, it makes for great fanfic fuel.
  6. Let me see if I can simplify my argument. The episode seems to imply that the Mane Six's talents aren't natural, as if their talents come from their cutie marks. It's like they're saying, "You discover what you're good at when you get your cutie mark," whereas "The Cutie Mark Chronicles" said the exact opposite: "You'll get your cutie mark when you realize what you're good at." I mean, for crying out loud, Applejack couldn't even talk right. This is in complete contrast to "The CMC", where it was shown that these ponies had these special abilities all along, long before they got their cutie marks. How getting their cutie marks taken away strips them of all personality (in the case of Pinkie, anyway) and ability makes no sense.
  7. If you go back and watch "The Cutie Mark Chronicles" and then watch "Cutie Markless" within the context of that episode, the two-parter really becomes a problem. This is especially bad considering the fact that M.A. Larson was a writer on all three episodes. How do you screw up your own continuity this badly? The premiere seems to imply that one's special talent cones not from the individual themselves, but from their cutie mark, which is the total opposite of what "The Cutie Mark Chronicles" said. This becomes horrifying when applied to the CMC, as it basically means that they're not talented at anything at all. Yes, they will get their cutie marks someday, but not because they've discovered what their special talent is. It's because destiny said so. Ugh! This is starting to remind me of why "Magical Mystery Cure" was such a huge headache-inducing problem.
  8. I wasn't expecting Pinkie's weight gain or the musical number, so both of those were pleasant surprises. The villain was great, the pacing was excellent, and everyone was in-character. Not to mention that there were some funny bits thrown for good measure, and Fluttershy was used better here than she was in "Magic Duel." There are only a few complaints that I have. One, why didn't Starlight cover the hole? She could've gotten to the caves a lot faster without running the risk of anyone catching her. And two, I would have liked to see Starlight get her ass kicked. When the other ponies were ganging up on her, that's the route I thought they were going to go with. But, no. She runs away to her house. Then again, this is a kids' show. Still, golden opportunity lost. And three, I was genuinely confused when the talk of Mage Metalbrook's eight enchanted items came up, especially .since there was no foresbadowing or discussion of them beforehand. Maybe this is something that will be expanded upon throughout the season, like they retrieve one of the enchanted items with each new place they go to and they have some magical power behind them like the keys and box last season. I also loved how Starlight shut Twilight up in the middle of her lecture. I don't think any other villain (or the show itself) has done that before. Also, Twilight's reaction, that "whoa!" face. You just know people are going to turn that into a meme. LOL
  9. That's how I've been seeing the remainder of this series playing out recently. Nice to know I'm not the only one. My question regarding season six is whether or not the.series. will still be worth watching. Think about it: most of the old writers have left and they're bringing in new ones, so I'm cautious approaching season five. The only old writer to come back is M.A. Larson (probably the series best writer), and Meghan McCarthy is still on board, so maybe there's hope. To be fair, the writers for season four did a very good job. (There were only a couple episodes that sucked.) So again, maybe there's hope that seasons five and six will be just as good as seasons three and four.
  10. I used to go to sleep with the radio on. And then I used to have a fan. Nowadays I need peace and quiet to go to sleep. My mom always sleeps with the fan on.
  11. I hate it when you're on a Christian/atheist video and the comments section will literally be flooded with people debating and insulting each other. It's why I completely avoid these types of videos.
  12. After having reread the comic, I have to agree. The dialogue was terrible. Like one user said, it was as if the writer was simply putting words together without any thought or logic. A lot of the dialogue didn't make sense and the constant rhyming was painful. The only thing I liked about this comic was the mental image of a fattened up Rainbow Dash from having eaten her body weight in apples. Aside from this comic (and Applejack's since I haven't read it yet), I think the characterization is spot-on. Though, keep in mind I've only read the micro comics once, so my opinion may change if I were to read them a few more times.
  13. From what I understand, several fans wanted a villain that was a normal, regular pony.
  14. I certainly hope not, as I would love to see more seasons of "LPS." EDIT: From the looks of it, it seems as if we'll be getting a fourth season of "LPS."
  15. I highly doubt that, especially since Discovery Family is still airing new episodes of "Littlest Pet Shop" and "Transformers: Rescue Bots." As one user said already, they'll probably start advertising in a couple of weeks.
  16. Yeah, that's the same thing I was thinking. Looking at the toy commercials, I'm guessing that cutie mark magic is going to have something to do with this season.
  17. Most stories that involve them and their childhood have the parents being abusive. It's the same thing with Scootabuse.
  18. Hopefully seeing them will dispel the myths that they were abused as children. I'd also like to see Granny Pie.
  19. Personally, I think that was better executed in episodes like "Winter Wrap-Up." I hear we're getting an episode about Pinkie's family in season 5. I'd like to see episodes focusing on the families of the Mane Six, particularly Rainbow Dash's and Fluttershy's. It'd also be interesting to see Rarity's parents again, just to see how the family interacts with one another.
  20. Well, the show is rated TV-Y, so I can understand where they're coming from. The show definitely has a different feel to it now than when it first started.
  21. I found it more stupid than anything. From a writing standpoint, why would you bother having the main character leave the group, only to get reunited with them two minutes. It also implies that the others are idiots and useless without Twilight. Regarding the story arcs, that was probably Hasbro's doing and not the fault of the writers.
  22. I'd say that the Fire Lord from "Avatar" is the evilest.
  23. , So, if I'm understanding you correctly, you're saying that they're making the premiere look epic, but when the actual premiere airs, it'll be completely half-assed. Manipulative editing at its finest. LOL Come to think of it, that is probably what they're going to do. If they do indeed intend on making this a season-long arc (I think they'd have a hard time doing this), I hope they do a better job than the last two season-long story arcs they attempted.
  24. That's true. I just have two questions about this: 1) How are they going to fit all of this in just two episodes? From the trailer, it seems there is a LOT going on. So, I get the feeling that this premiere is going to be rather rushed, but I hope it's not. 2) Why didn't they ask Discord to go with them? They're going into unknown territory, so you would think that it'd be a good idea to take a physical god that's more powerful than Princess Celestia to help them if they get in a jam.
