  1. When I heard about the reboot, I decided to watch some old episodes 'cause I thought it could be interesting to watch but I first wanted to be familiar with the original show. During my childhood I didn't see many episodes of the Powerpuff Girls. I really enjoyed the original show, most episodes were funny and the characters were so interesting and cute and... I discovered I basically loved the Powerpuff Girls. So at this point I've watched I think like 18 episodes, and last time I watched it was perhaps 1 month ago or something like that. But I never enjoyed it like the old Powerpuff Girls. It's missing what I loved most ; Mojo Jojo, Miss Bellum, and most importantly... the girls saving the city. I loved all the villains in the original show, and most of them are gone. But the girls don't even save Townsville anymore. It's their very first purpose : being the heros of the city. Now it's just three little girls who happen to fly and go through incredibly cliched scenarios. I don't hate the reboot, but it could be so much better. There are some things I like. The new voice actors for the powerpuff girls are ok in my book, even if I prefer the original ones, some voice actors are still present like the Professor's (even if you can notice pretty clearly he's been out of business for a while), Mojo Jojo's, the Mayor's... The new art-style isn't too bad even if sometimes the animation could be better. But right now, the reboot's biggest problem is simply the episode's plots which are sometimes simply cringe-worthy. tl;dr: The reboot is filled with cringy memes, cliched plots which never let us see the girls do what they do best : fight crime. They are completely unable to create episodes with a relatively entertaining scenario in which battling monsters or villains is involved, instead we're stuck with stupid storylines, like Bubbles breaking her arm (l o l) and not willing to give up her cast, a unicorn who doesn't know he's a unicorn (l o l²)... It's just plain absurd, boring and the supposedly funny scenes make me chuckle at best. The positive points I highlighted earlier are far from sufficient for me to recommend the reboot to anyone. If you want to watch an interesting Cartoon Network show, just watch Steven Universe if you haven't already. Here's hoping the show gets better with time.
  2. From what I read online, the inequality regarding the number of Pokéstops in big cities compared to smaller cities can be explained by Niantic's other title. It's a game called Ingress, and its goal was to take control of portals to support your team. Those portals were like Pokéstops : statues, big buildings, important places... but they weren't chosen by Niantic. Ingress' players rather took the pictures to then create the map with all the portals around the world. Needless to say most people who played Ingress were usually wealthier than the average. And naturally, Pokéstop's location in Pokémon Go is based on those portals' location in Ingress, which is why I, poor little thing, have to walk 5 km to find like 3 or 4 Pokéstops total... I really summed it up here because there are factors other than higher living standards, such as historical heritage, but yeah. I wish I could link the entire article, but it's in french and I couldn't find an english equivalent unfortunately. :/ Here it is if you want to take a look and try to understand it : http://www.lemonde.fr/pixels/article/2016/08/03/pokemon-go-les-multiples-facteurs-des-inegalites-geographiques_4977738_4408996.html
  3. I've got a very eclectic taste in music, so I like almost everything. When I was a little kid, before napping my mother would make me and my sister listen to "The Four Seasons" from Vivaldi, so listening to classical music to keep a calm mind, and relax for a bit. There was a time I listened a lot to metal, groups like Slipknot, Rammstein, Alter Bridge... But I almost never listen to those groups anymore, however I still like them. :3 And naturally, I'm very fond of electronic music, all thanks to Daft Punk, a duo I truly discovered when I was like 13, perhaps also Justice. 85% of the music I listen to is electronic, so Daft Punk influenced my tastes the most out of any musicians.
  4. I think it's incredibly ignorant to say that music from the past decades was the best. Sure nowadays music you hear on the radio is mostly crap, but honestly if you just take the time to dig up a little, you'll find good music. I was convinced for a while that no rapper nowadays could top The Notorious B.I.G, Gang Starr, Tupac, DJ Quik... And then I listened to the "good kid, m.A.A.d city" album from Kendrick Lamar. And it's one of the best rap albums I've ever listened to. It's fine to like music from the 70s, 80s or 90s, I too listen to some songs from those times, but it is just wrong to say music has gotten worse, because it hasn't. There are so many artists able to share their songs with the internet now, YouTube is crawling under channels that share music almost daily, you've got SoundCloud, 8tracks, Bandcamp... I honestly hardly believe you cannot find a single song that suits your musical tastes in here. tl;dr Music from the 70s, 80s or 90s wasn't the best. You perhaps simply prefer that kind of music over today's music, but take the time to seek some good songs and you'll find, I'm sure of it.
  5. I live in the country so I have to walk like 5 good kilometers (around 3 miles for fellow americans) to get to the nearest city, and it's a small one so not many Pokéstops but at least I've got 2 gyms... Fortunately, a friend allowed me to live in his appartment for 4 days, so we've had tons of fun and naturally we played Pokémon Go every night, and it was really fun. We met some people from our team on our way and were able to talk a bit with them to take control of a gym or to exchange some pro tips on which places in the city were best to find good Pokémons. The game is great and allows a lot of interactions with strangers, but I'm still a bit upset that Niantic just completely removed the footprints system instead of actually fixing it. The game could be a million times better if they listened a bit to the community's demands (and if they added more Pokéstops in places like where I live, but we'll have to wait a looong time for this). It's a great game, but it clearly has potential to be much more enjoyable if Niantic listened for a change. Regarding the hate Pokémon Go gets, well the game probably receives hate from players like me suffering the side-effects of living in the country and not in the city. I don't mind that much but it sure is annoying. You should also take in consideration that medias have literally done everything they could to make Pokémon Go look bad. I've been crawling under notifications of articles with titles such as "Had a car accident because of Pokémon Go", "Died because he was playing Pokémon Go", "This woman fell in a hole while playing Pokémon Go"... Naturally, most ignorant people won't even consider that the game isn't responsible for any of those incidents. One quickly forgets that it's not the game's fault if you had an accident in the traffic, you're not supposed to be playing in the first place while driving. And naturally, there are people thinking this is a child's game. Don't really want to comment on them, thinking all mighty whereas they've been playing Candy Crush non-stop for 5 years. It's a great game and my mom is more than happy to see me go more and more often outside for once.
  6. Because I've never seen a pic in which Dashie looked half as badass as in my current avatar. Gotta admit it's been a while since I last looked at some fan-arts, but I'm very satisfied with this one.
  7. I recently watched the powerpuff girls movie, and I found it quite entertaining. Not really sure if I'd put it in my favourite animated films though. Fantastic Mr. Fox was pretty incredible, and I always loved movies featuring stop motion (looking at you Wallace & Gromit). And naturally, some Disney movies come to mind. Bambi is my favourite one, watched it over and over again when I was just a kid. And my favourite Pixar movie is Wall-E, hands down. One of the very few movies that made me cry, while still being very funny, definitely a masterpiece. There's also Princess Mononoké, I've never watched a lot of japanese classics but this is one I'd recommend for sure. And I'm gonna stop here because if I don't I'll keep going and who knows where I'll end up ^^
  8. I've been a huge fan of Lemaitre for a long time and lately I've been thinking "did they actually release anything new recently ?", and I discovered 2 new EPs and their latest one called "1749" is one of the best EPs I've ever listened to. Here's my favourite song that I keep singing every day now :
  9. Got the V-Moda Crossfade LP on Amazon for like 60-70€ a while ago, 3x cheaper than the original price and I love them, extremely durable and amazing sound quality I'm a big gamer so I just use a Zalman ZM-MIC1 and clip it on the cable.

      You've got exams too ?

  11. I sleep around 8 hours when I usually sleep much more, like 10 hours at least. My life : Stay up late. Regret it in the morning. Repeat.
  12. Damn, I was expecting some sweet Hocus Pocus song when I saw your name. I find both these songs pretty awesome, and they've both been stuck in my head for a few months now. c:
  13. If I were living in the USA, I believe I'd be in 11th grade. French exams coming for June.
  14. i3 3110m @ 2.4 GHz NVidia GT610M 4GB RAM 750GB HDD Windows 8 Buck my life, I can't bear playing Borderlands without good fps.
  15. I just want more episodes like this one. That is all. Just more. Please. I just enjoyed it so much !
  16. Tornadoes aren't as common where I live as in America so I'm not scared, but I'd love to see one from my own eyes one day as I find this phenomenon quite fascinating. Not too close though, cause I guess I'd be scared to death as well then. ^^'
  17. So, to make it clear, I didn't like it. For me, this double-episode is clearly not worth of a season debut after what we've seen back in the previous seasons. Just look at season 2 with Discord, season 3 with the Crystal Empire, season 4 with the Tree of Harmony. Even if some of you were pleased to have a "lighter" episode after the last season's finale, I don't think it should have been THAT light. I mean, come on, what do we got here : A villain as charismatic as an oyster. She doesn't come even close to the likes of Discord, Chrysalis (I don't even like Chrysalis but she was a damn good villain, gotta be honest with myself), even Sombra who was talking the same way as a 2-year-old. We don't even know what plans she had for these cutie marks, something I would have actually liked to know, but guess we'll have to wait to find out. I had some troubles following the episode because of the rythm that I found quite chaotic. The end disappointed me, this villain launches a flash grenade and disappears like that. ok well i guess cya l8r. I didn't enjoy the song either, not to mention the whole double episode looked like a criticism towards communism. I enjoyed some stuff as well, don't worry. Pinkie and Fluttershy were really cool and I enjoyed watching Fluttershy spying on this villain (I'm really sorry but I forgot her name so I'll keep calling her that way). The 4 ponies helping the mane six at the end get their cutie marks back were actually quite great. Thanks to this double-episode, we know what to expect for this season even if I don't really care about it (sprending the magic of fwiendship accross Equestria y'know). The interesting part is that we've got a villain to look for who's still running, and I hope she won't be as dissapointing next time she shows up and we'll have something spectacular to look for. So, I've been away from anything related to MLP for months now, and I've been really disappointed. Clearly, in my opinion, this was nowhere near the level of quality recquired from a season debut. I'll keep watching the rest of the season because I'm interested in the development they'll put in this new villain even though she's got the charism of a dead octopus. Hope they'll make some better episodes. It's quite amusing to see the contrast between here and the french forum. Frenchiesgave a lot more negative feedback that you.
  18. I've been using Chrome for a while now but now that Firefox FINALLY supports 60 fps videos on youtube, I see no reason to not go back on my favourite browser !
  19. Hey kids, it's been a while <: anypony knows when season 5 comes out ? My laziness is stoping me from checking on google

    1. Scribblegroove

      Scribblegroove

Somewhere this spring. I don't believe an actual release date has been set.

  20. Well, it's nearly impossible since I don't have anything MLP-related that I could wear, show off or anything :/ And I don't really know if I would have the guts to actually wear, like, a MLP-Shirt if I had one but, tbh, I find these shirts way too expensive. :<
  21. Here it goes : https://www.youtube.com/user/exshawns I post TF2 fragclips on it, since I play TF2 competitively (6v6) with my team. We're also planning with a friend to make a fragmovie after we ended winning our first season
  22. I recently discovered a french band called "La Base" and I felt in love with the track called H24. It's in french, so you might not like it as much as I do but who knows, anyone who truly loves music won't be bothered by foreign languages right ? https://soundcloud.com/la-base-1/la-base-h24
  23. Stuck In The Sound - Brother Their style is just so unique. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J417T5crtm4 "Let's Go" is also a really good song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52Gg9CqhbP8
