movies/tv What TV series have you completed?
Antidaeophobia replied to TheJLeeTeam's topic in Media Discussion
I completed House MD. I was a huge fan of House MD from the moment it aired. I watched till season 5, then I just lost interest in it and the writing. I finally got back to watching it, Jesus H. Christ on a cracker, those last two seasons were dreadful. Really really awful. I'd a preferred they killed it back when it was still highly rated. Also finished Yugioh and Inuyasha. I enjoyed them both, fairly good ending. I also finished watching all the Doctor Who seasons with Matt Smith. It was about as painful for me as watching the last seasons of House MD because I am NOT a Matt Smith fan. But I managed to get through it.- 56 replies

Right on pegasister (heehee see what I did there. ). But I agree! Bronies are a pretty gender fluid community, and very accepting of people being themselves. Guys dressed as girls, girls dressed as guys, transgender, cisgender, homosexual, heterosexual, pansexual, asexual- It doesn't matter. I've never had an issue with Bronies judging me and treating me badly for being who I am, even if they disagree with me. I know some women want to set themselves outside of the brony label. Many girls I've talked to that hate being called brony and only want to be called a pegasister seem to have a judgement on male bronies that I don't like and I find very rude and based purely on stereotypes of bronies being basement dwellers or losers and not wanting to be associated with that but still liking the show. It really bothers me when girls want to be called pegasister because of that type of view. I prefer the term brony because it makes us all equal in the fandom and is gender neutral, so if someone identifies as a different gender than they were born, then I wont offend them. I'm very traditionally masculine in my personality. I'm very dominant and assertive. I've had people criticize me because 'girls shouldn't be like that!' or 'no one likes a masculine personality in a woman', but I am the way I am. People should be allowed to be however they want. My best friend is male, and he's very sensitive and nurturing, way more than I am, and when he was younger people use to call him names, like 'faggot' and 'girly boy' for it. I dress punk though, so it kind of gives you more leeway with combining masculine and feminine clothing LOL I was quite a tomboy in school, but mostly because I felt like if I wanted respect, I had to be as boyish as possible. I feel much more comfortable with wearing traditionally female clothing now that I know I can dress male or female and still get respect.

Very much like the Star Trek episode 'Return of the Archons' (Are you one with the body? Are you one with Landru?). I don't think it's controversial for children, even if it really represents fascism in an easy way for people to understand. I'd say that this episode really showed the difference between communism and fascism. Equestria to me always came off as very communist/socialist. You don't see ponies in poverty, and everyone seems to have exactly what they need and are fairly capable of making a life from their special talent, even if it is as silly as party planner. People are also dedicated to community service, such as winter wrap up and etc. However, the town they visited was very fascist, people were scared to be themselves, and the ponies weren't truly happy and it was ruled by a dictator who wanted to covert the masses whether they wanted it or not. Dictators free themselves and enslave the people. I think the episode was interesting, but had a good message that younger kids could appreciate even if they don't understand the political aspect of it. But if you're an adult, then I think it was more scary. Given they were pretty much tortured and subjected to constant propaganda in an attempt to break them, which we both know is a tool of war, and also common in North Korea. I really enjoyed the episode, I see this season having a very good start.

I say I'm a Brony because I am pretty obsessed with the show (I'm a Trekkie and Whovian as well), so I call myself a Brony. I don't use the term Pegasister because I don't understand why there needs to be a different word for female fans and from my experience, some people have been pretty misogynistic towards me on some forums when I've revealed I'm female. MLP fans are pretty tolerant and equal towards the genders, they aren't the issue. Most bronies I know behave in a very feminist manner, and treat everyone with dignity and equality from my experiences. But forums that have featured multiple fandoms alongside MLP fans have been mean to me for revealing I'm female. I had to leave my Trekkie forum I'd been a part of for 7yrs because the new wave of fans came in, and they were very misogynist, which was bizarre to the older fans. The forum started having serious issues with the new fans messaging inappropriate pictures to female members ( got so many dick pics), calling ladies fake geeks, and just bullying the bejeezus out of them. As one of the older members, it was really difficult to leave, but I just couldn't take it anymore. So I just say Brony. It lets other MLP fans know I'm one of the herd on a multi forum so they can talk to me, but keeps the meaner people from bullying me and telling me 'Tits or GTFO'.

spoiler Why was Fluttershy so optamistic about the town?
Antidaeophobia replied to TheMisterManGuy's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
I think it had a great deal to do with how tolerant Fluttershy is of differences in ponies; It's in her nature to be kind. However Fluttershy has always struck me as not being able to judge peoples emotions very well. She seemed to think that just because people were smiling, therefore they were happy. She sometimes behaves like my grandma, in that, if you don't talk about bad things, and you just smile, they don't exist; also, only say nice things and never focus on negativity. Even though life isn't always nice and is sometimes negative, and ignoring it doesn't make it better. But I think they will probably work on Fluttershy's character development through this season. I think she was just so happy so many people wanted to get along and be her friend and accepted her for her shyness. From what we've seen of her, even as a little filly; She was bullied, shy, and very nervous around people, and she has a hard time being around people because they easily push her around. She probably wanted to think positively that she'd found the perfect town of friendship. It wasn't until she realized it was fake, and that her friends were miserable that she put on her big girl panties and dealt with it. -

I've got serious issues with insomnia, and I'll stay awake for two days if given the chance. I usually stay awake for 20hrs, then sleep for 9hrs. In the past it was 20hrs, then 6hrs of sleep, but my septum was deviated a couple months ago, so my sleep is altered. But once it's fixed I'll be back on my normal schedule. It's probably from all the medications I had as a severely ill child that caused hyper insomnia, it probably altered my brain. Because of my sleep patterns, I do most of my work through the night (Princess Luna loves me). My sleep issues use to pose a serious issue with school. It wasn't a problem when I was in the hospital, I was hospitalized a great deal as a child for my lung disease, but when I was well and going to school, it was a problem. Because I might fall asleep in the middle of class, or not be able to get up in the morning if I finally crashed. It's easier to deal with now that I make my own hours for work.

I think since Celestia is her teacher, and not her mother or friend, I think she's probably ok with Twilight moving on to bigger and better things. She wants Twilight to fulfill her potential, even if she did feel bad to see her go. Celestia is old and wise enough to know that ponies can't stay around just to make her not feel lonely, and she still has her sister. She's pretty much a god, and I don't think as a god she'd be so selfish as to want to keep Twilight with her all the time. Course now that Twilight is a alicorn, Celestia wont have to worry about Twilight dying and leaving her alone with just her sister, Luna, as company. But that makes me sad for Twilight because all her pony friends will die, leaving her alone with just Spike, who I think she considers more as little brother, or her kid, than the type of friends the mane 6 are to her.

mega thread Why did you choose your avatar/profile pic?
Antidaeophobia replied to ~Rule 63~ Lyeco's topic in General Discussion
I always have my icon of my OC Nova. She represents me, but I love to draw her in weird, or funny ways. Try out different styles, or just have it brightly coloured. Icon pics should be fun, so I don't take mine to seriously. Sometimes Nova is a crystal pony, or a Nightmare villain, or a princess, sometimes she makes funny faces or goes on weird adventures. Sometimes she's dressed fancy, or dressed Chola. Whatever strikes my fancy to draw. So I have lots of weird images featuring her. -
I don't like Flash Sentry, or any love interest because because it's been done over and over again in girls animation. One of the many reasons I like MLP, is because the main girl cast are independent, and aren't obsessing over boys, or talking about boys all the time. They have other interests besides that. Creating a love interest is pretty much like saying 'well, that's all girls care about is boyfriends, even someone as intelligent as Twilight is boy crazy'. It's very cliche, and Flash isn't even that well developed of a character. You don't see many boys cartoons where the main character only talks about girls, and obsesses over girls, and has to go through a makeover and a whole shopping spree to find the right outfit to get a girl (or they will lyke omg, just die without a date to the prom). If Flash was an interesting character, I probably wouldn't dislike him or the other love interests so much.

Challenging myself to draw better this year, and have been actively working on my technique. Here's some of my recent artwork I've done. ( http://www.Alektorotelumphobia.deviantART.com ) If I Fits, I Sits 'Mew'- doing what cats do best. If I Fits I Sits 'Mewtwo' edition- He doesn't get the appeal of boxes Road Rage (My friend as I as our MLP Oc's) My friend Walker has a serious case of road rage, it drives me frikkin crazy. Whenever he pisses me off, or whenever we have a misadventure of some sort, I like to draw it using our OC's Grumpyshy- she ain't taking none of your crap. Doctor Whooves 12th Doctor- design I've been working on for the 12th Doctor Whooves fan comics I'm writing.

I have a high pain tolerance. Being chronically ill all my life, I was inpatient in the hospital alot till I was 17yrs, so I'm use to being poked and prodded, and having painful stuff done- so pains no big deal. I've also got chronic pain issues, so it's a fact of life I will hurt. I think having a high pain tolerance has allowed me to be calmer in anxiety situations, and to not get upset during tests. Hospitals are totally cool with me, so I try and calm people down when they're at the hospital. Now, the only time I'm around needled anymore is when I'm getting pierced LOL Two worst pains I had to deal with though was a chest tube that was improperly placed, and when they had to test my need for infection and they had to poke around a bunch of time. Easiest pain I have ever dealt with was getting my piercings, especially my lip, nothing more than a slight pinch.

I learn all my style techniques from The Doctor. As far as shoes, I either wear my black converse with different shoe laces I make, or my Harley boots. I have shoes for special occasions and snow boots, but these are my go to for day to day wear. I like my Harley boots because they don't have zippers, they fit well, and they're sturdy boots. I probably need to replace them soon since they've had alot of wear, I'm hoping to find the exact same pair in a size 7, which is tough. I hoping to buy a new pair of converse soon, probably in red and then refurbish my current ones with new canvas.

I think there is a great deal of misunderstanding regarding GMO's. I don't think being in a first world nation we have much of a right to complain about our food given so many people don't have food, and we are currently in a position in our history to have more food available to us than the human species has even had.

general Rate yourself in attractiveness, intelligence and kindness.
Antidaeophobia replied to Screw Loose's topic in General Discussion
I think my attractiveness 8.5/10 intelligence 10/10 kindness 4/10 I can be kind of a hard ass, but I'm very loyal and honest, but I have a low tolerance for bullshit. I'm a great friend, but if you wont take my advice on bettering your life when you ask for my help, and you just want to bitch and whine, then I'll tell you to fuck off. I am not cruel however, and my friends tell me I'm sweet- don't know where they got that nonsense from. I also tend to not to have a filter, so some people can be insulted or think I'm weird when I didn't intend to do that. I don't believe in superstitious language, meaning, avoiding certain words because they're considered curse words, but I wouldn't say a slur unless it was already established by a close friend that we were speaking that way. But I tend to use the word fuck with the same sort of flourish a teenage girl who dots her 'i's with little hearts. The foulest language in my opinion can be use to express great love for someone, while the most polite language can be used to demean- but I make it a point to treat people with dignity (and respect if they have earned it). So to me there is not such thing as a bad word. I'm very attractive, and I know I'm highly intelligent. I don't think that's bad to say, people should have confidence in themselves.
