  1. That's not what "literal" means. If it was literal that would mean it would literally be a plot device. That would mean they would use this device to literally alter the plot KNOWING they're altering the plot, thus breaking the 4th wall or something. It is a device but it isn't a plot device from their perspective.
  2. In the end it doesn't really matter because these two aren't even characters. They're background designs. How many times has Sweetie Drops' voice and personality completly changed throughout the series? This is just DXH f***ing with us.
  3. Don't you sugarcube me! lol But do you really believe that was an animation error? With the sound effect and everything? Nu-uh.
  4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00FEerx4_o4 It's not really the first time something like that has happened.
  5. Well, sure. The dolls suck, that's a fact. But McCarthy & Co. tried super-hard to avoid the sexist stereotypes in the actual movie. Besides the designs, what kind of "sexist" behaviour was even in the movie? The one little thing I can think of is Flash Sentry. Again - he didn't even get a large role in the film. But besides that... what was there? The Fall Formal Princess contest? No, not really. No one was interested in that besides TS & SS. And did they want the title for the sake of being the prettiest princess in the school? Nope, they wanted the Crown - SS so she could conquest Equestria, TS so she could protect it. There was one more character intrested in that, but a year prior - Rarity. But that's Rarity! She loves that kind of stuff, even... no, especially in the show. And how did Twilight become the FF Princess? By uniting everyone in the school. Basically - by showcasing what a great person she was, not on the outside but inside. (this is getting sappy... ) So if anyone can point out any sexist behaviour (besides Rarity & Flash Sentry mentioned above), please do. --- Now, the designs. First - the ones in the actual movie. I really don't know how people got the "sexist" vibe from them. If they ARE sexist, then this is as well: (Ps.: It isn't) --- Now - the dolls. Riddle me this. How would the Galaxy Girls toys would've looked like if Hasbro or any large toy company, really, got their hands on the license. Yeah. --- tl;dr - the movie isn't sexist, the dolls are. Blame the guilty Hasbro department. DHX is pure.
  6. And the fact that these toys suck butt as well had absolutely nothing to do with the reaction... If it didn't she would've posted a picture of the 2D designs, not of the toys. --- The direction of EqG is this: Same characters, different enviroment.
  7. ??? Those Monster High knockoffs are toys too, you know. And just like with the core show, the toys look worse than the show/movie designs.
  8. I just like to point out that was her reaction to the TOYS not the movie itself. And here's the big shocker, guys - the official MLP Hasbro toys always kinda sucked.
  9. Some people in the comments: "Hmm, they divided them into groups of 2. That could mean only one thing - SHIPPING!" I... uh... whatever...
  10. Clearly the creators knew where it was going since they made S4 afterwards. Princess TS was written way before MMC aired and McCarthy herself said she considered PTS as parts 2&3 of a 3-parter. The FANS were not entirely sure where it was going and, quite frankly, their complaints were based on nothing more than mere conjecture. It seems it always comes down to big bad Hasbro and their "corporate mandate". Yeah, the entire show is one large corporate mandate. Hasbro needed it to promote toys. That's never a good argument.
  11. You're kidding, right? Season 3 was the first time I felt the storylines were actually going somewhere.
