    I think "chill place to hang" describes it very well. In my anime club we would watch anime ( shōnen one month, shōjo the next), we'd have Japanese lessons, play pictionary, all that fun stuff. We also did seasonal stuff — a Halloween party/Quiz night, secret Santa, etc. It's all fun.
