I know what you mean. I always considered myself pretty open to most areas of nerd-/fan-dom but I kind of drew a line at bronies as the near edge of being a little too strange for me and I would make the same playful (from my POV) jokes but, like I said, I was guided into it and enjoy it! I'm with you as a new brony! I had the same start of being pretty judgmental. I wish I could take it all back too...But I was a pretty intense nerd who always "drew my line" at ponies and brony culture. I have changed my tune and try to make sure I'm supporting the community as much as possible now and getting deeper into it every day! Glad to have others just starting in and I look forward to exploring this fantastic fandom with you! My Favourite Mane 6 Pony: Twilight Sparkle How did you find MLP Forums?: I just became too invested to not join in! I searched online for a more general forum to be involved with the fandom. How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: I have been going through some pretty rapid changes in my life in the last year and many of them have been, or at least at the time seemed to be for the worse. I met a few new friends which led to others. One of them was a highly involved creative brony and he invited/encouraged me to watch the show. I was going through college and ended up hesitantly watching a few episode which turned into all of them....and then multiple times...I love the animation style and how relaxing it was when faced with my major and other stresses. Anyway...my brony progenitor moved away (hopefully temporarily) but I kept getting deeper and deeper into my enjoyment and love for FIM. Now I'm totally in! Also...a shout out to GAP_Jaxie on FIMFIC. If it wasn't for you I wouldn't be here! Everyone should go and check out his channel I am a college student just finishing up my last bit of classes this summer at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I'm in a time of flux in my life and I'm really looking at who I want to be and what I want to make of my life. MLP really has been amazing at keeping my mind screwed on straight and trying to chart a course for my future. I enjoy gaming of all sorts but mostly pen/paper RPGs. I also love travel, cooking, trying new things, and watching a variety of internet videos. I really hope to meet friends with similar interests because being around people like that is what keeps me moving forward and not just stagnating/retreating from challenges.
