  1. @DwhitetheGamer When Applejack walked over, Twilight had smiled, but it dropped a little, at her friends rude entrance. She cleared her throat, tilting her head in Copper's direction to bring her attention to him. "Applejack, this is Copper Strikes. He's going to be one of the contestants here at the Canterlot Tournament." She turned to Copper Strikes. "Copper Strikes, this is my friend, Applejack. Honest to a fault, dependable. And quite nice. Usually." She shot her friend another dangerous look, still the slightest bit miffed at her opening.
  2. @DwhitetheGamer Twilight blinked, considering the proposition. Magic had always been her forte, but unbeknowst to seemingly everyone, fighthing wasn't, not really. What seemed like dozens of hard battles against impossible under her belt was really mostly just luck, and the help of her friends. But then, she had come here to change that. And to see if the training from the other princesses had actually paid off. "Sure. I don't mind." She nodded in agreement, showing off her best princess-y smile. "I'll make a note of it; tomorrow, you'll be my first match. And i'll be yours."
  3. @DwhitetheGamer "...Huh." Twilight blinked at the new information, not quite sure how to process it. On the one hoof, this wasn't anything she'd ever read about in any textbook, ever; not even the textbooks at the back of the Canterlot library contained information on "A Legendary Super Pony". On the other hoof, this wasn't anything she'd ever read about, ever; not even the textbooks in Canterlot's library had any information on this subject. Which meant a new learning opportunity for her, and one that she couldn't wait to find out about. "I guess so. Well, I suppose i'll be seeing you and your special form in a match very soon, right?"
  4. @DwhitetheGamer "A box containing a small portion of most of the magic in Equestria, which we received after defeating Tirek, by unlocking the true extent of our..." She paused, pretty sure she had jumped a segue, and was probably throwing him off entirely. "It's... sort of complicated." She shot him a sheepish smile. "I mean, no offense to you, but most of the stuff me and my friends do sound like things that you would hear at a bar party, or in some long-winded novel. So all I can do is assure you that they're real, and that we're proud to do them. No matter how crazy they may sound."

That's... wow. I can't believe how good that looks. Just...
  6. @DwhitetheGamer Twilight looked over in the direction of the receptionist's hoof, and blinked twice, just to check. Yep; earth pony. Though, technically, there wasn't any strange cosmic universal rules that prevented earth ponies from having alicorn like abilities... last she checked, anyways. She walked over, breaking into a wave to catch his attention. "Hi, i'm Princess Twilight Sparkle. Though you probably knew that already." She sheepishly scratched her head, reminding herself to scrub the introductions. Not like she wasn't known, anyways. "What you probably didn't know is that i'm also entered into this competition, like you." She held out a single hoof. "Nice to meet you." ------- Temperance had grown bored, and so had decided to amuse herself at the snack table. Even as she watched the newest alicorn and the pony she had just talked to exchange words, her staff was out, floating in the air about her. Soft purple flames drifted from it, forming a variety of shapes. A five headed dragon, then a one-winged angel, then an alicorn, unlike any ever seen in Equestria...
  7. "Okay. Check, check, and..." Twilight Sparkle floated down into the castle from the sky, hefting a saddlebag full of lists that she had collected in preparation for this event. Maybe Celestia had been right, and she was being a bit too pedantic about this, but you could never be too careful, when it came to these sorts of things. She approached the table as soon as she saw it. "Princess Twilight Sparkle, signing up for the special section." Lifting up the lists she had spent the last few hours writing, she proceeded to place them on the table, in a neatly organized fashion. "That's a list of all my current magical spells, enchantments, incantations, and otherwise, down to newly acquired alicorn powers. Alphabetized for the easiest convenience." She grinned, ever so proud of herself; it had taken no small amount of effort to draw up that list. And she hadn't even begun to drop into the practical applications...
  8. @DwhitetheGamer Temperance had just been slipping one of the higher end chocolates from the table into her mouth, when she caught the sound of some pony calling her. Ma'am, he had said. Slowly, she turned around to face him. "Actually, I am from around here. Born right here, in Equestria. It's just the other details that are sketchy. And quite frankly, that i'd probably have to remove you from this planet for, if you knew about them. But i'm feeling nice enough now, and you're not one of those jerks that were rude to me, so..." With her magic, she picked up one of the expensive chocolates she'd been scarfing down, and floated it over to him. "Have a chocolate. Life's too short to waste them, after all!"

Do you think you could draw Nightingale? https://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/nightwing-gale-r8540 Full body colored sketch, if you could. And that's it on my end; thanks it advance!
  10. Okay...(helps to get an image for me, so I know what i'm working with): Now, obviously this is your creative decision. But I talked with my friends, who are a little more knowledgable than I am on colors, and they all agreed that the rainbow pattern with the beige body isn't exactly the best fit, and that there are combinations that could go much better with one or the other changed. So, just a question; would you be willing to go for a change in that particular area, or do you want it to stay as is, and we can just move on to the character sheet?
  11. I'm working on the design right now. Just a quick question: Was there anything you had in mind specifically for this character's...character? Or would you prefer me to start with the basic ideas?
  12. @reader8363, , @DwhitetheGamer Temperance had just finished putting her name down on the paper, styled in eloquently, old timey writing, when another stallion came from behind her, giving her a push. She slid over less than an inch, before dropping to the floor, walking a short ways away to stare intently. As she stopped, a moment later, her staff was drawn, twirling dangerously in the air around her. Very briefly, she contemplated setting this stallion on fire where he stood, and maybe the registar who had yelled at her too. Just as a warning, to anyone else who thought it was a good idea to get mouthy with her. But then, in a flash, it disappeared just as quickly. No need to cause another "incident" here, especially when it would blow her race's secret. And, she reasoned quickly, there'd be plenty of time for it later in the tournaments, anyhow. Turning around and distancing her thoughts from the action, she instead returned to the snack bar. There were more things she was just dying to try.
  13. @reader8363, , @DwhitetheGamer The tiny pony in question, Temperance, had been stuffing her face on delicatessens for the last ten minutes, savoring all of the unique and individual tastes. Some of which she'd never even experienced, before now; maybe this tournament would be worth it after all. And if not, she always knew how to generate her own particular brand of excitement. she thought, as she looked over at the full line for the sign in sheet. May as well go get entered in now. . There were ponies in her way, so she simply brushed by them, on her way to the front of the line. Putting her front hooves over the desk just in order to reach its height, she stared unerringly at the receptionist. "Heightened physical abilities. Flight. Regeneration. Special magic borrowed from a higher being. I could go on, but I don't think I need to." She tilted her head pointedly, towards the special list.
  14. @J.R. "Congratulations, both contestants. The winner for the current match between Ice Blizzard and Ivory Star... Ivory Star!" The crowd roared emphatically, before fading away into the distance... ----- @J.R. Ivory Star heard the crowd. But her focus was locked on Ice Blizzard. He looked... crushed. Had she don the right thing? She took a step forward, then stopped herself. He had wanted this; to see the full extent of her abilities. And he had got them. And, though he looked just the slightest bit downtrodden, she knew well enough that this wasn't going to be the end. He would back from this soon enough, and seek to work even harder to win. And her... She looked up, towards the artificial sky, with a small sigh. She needed to make a bigger splash here; her goal still hadn't been reached. Casting magic to build a portal, she prepared to jump through it, even as the arena faded back to its normal state between them. ------ @P-Jay, Ivory Star looked to Raze, then Lektra, then finally over to Caliber, looking over all of them intently. It didn't take a genius to realize that things were occurring here, and that she had rapidly become a foreign entity here. The minotaur in the room, as most ponies would call it. But that was fine; She could always come back later, and right now, she could sense there was somewhere else that she needed to be, and something that she needed to do there. Forming a portal through a casual arc of her horn, she stepped through it, disappearing from all detection... ------- @Orion Caelum "...A happy moment, whatever the future may hold? Being alive, in order to see what's ahead of us?" Anette smiled warmly, as the glass she held in her own magic clinked against Wilhelm's softly. "And being together, long enough to make a second toast." She chuckled lightheartedly. "I think those are good places to start. And you can certainly do worse..." She stopped, as a somewhat particular and rather all around interesting story came to her. She lit up with a grin. "Would you like to hear about the time Sleight Mist and I became pirates?"
  15. I think I can take a crack this; I happen to be a bit of an oc enthusiast (I have no less than two threads on here dedicated to something similar to this). Fair warning, though; I do good profiles, but i'm bunk at art design. I can play with oc creator, but if you're looking for spectacular art design, i'm unfortunately not the person for that.
  16. ( OOC here ) @reader8363, , , @DwhitetheGamer Celestia and Luna stood atop the the specially prepared pedestal, overlooking the streets of Canterlot, and all of the contestants below. Wings flared out for extra emphasis, they stared upward, to look down when the time was right, the perfect pictures of majesty. Everything that ponies below them would be expecting, from the Celestial sisters. "Greetings, contestants!" Celestia, naturally, was the first to speak. "In just a few moment, you will be ushered into the castle, to begin the first part of your sign ups. But first, me and my sister must explain the rules, and the tournament's organization." *She looked to Luna, who spoke up without hesitation.* "This tournament will be divided into four portions. The first, which you will very soon be made acquaintance with, is the signing up portion, where you'll selectively be placed in certain brackets according to your abilities. Next will be the players choice portions, where, for a time, you will be able to choose which opponents you do battle with, to receive points on doing so." "Round three is team matches." Celestia spoke up, and Luna fell back, just as perfectly as they rehearsed it. "You will each be grouped in random pairings for your matches, and points will once again be awarded to the winners. And round four is simple elimination; those who lose in this round will be dropped from the tournament, until one contestant is remaining. That contestant..." "Will have the honor of battling us." Luna spoke out loud, and powerfully, and both sisters cracked their wings in emphasis. Flecks of light spread out from them as they did, washing over those who were watching in a storm of sparkling fragments. "There are but two rules." Both sister's tucked their wings together in unison. "Rule one; no foul play. Anyone found using underhanded means to win or weapons they did not specify before their sign in will be dropped from the tournament. Rule two: no fights to the death, If necessary, you may render a fallen opponent unconscious, but anyone found to have been demonstrating the use of techniques to a fatal end will also be dropped from the tournament, immeadietly. And do be warned...." Luna's eyes tensed, as she shot the crowd a stern look. "We will be keeping watch. But do not fear; so long as you fight well, and fight fairly, you will have nothing to fear." "And with that in mind..." Celestia's horn sparked, as she looked up, firing off a single blast of light into the sky. It exploded above her, painting the night sky alive with fireworks. "Welcome to the 200th official Canterlot Tournament! Contestants, sign up when ready!" Once again in unison, both sisters took off, leading the path into the castle and the signing area open for use. -------- "Pfft. Boring. Why did Benevolence send me here again, anyways?" The brown pony with the elegantly done mane shot a bored glance up at the princesses, disappearing off into the distance, then at the other contestants, even as she walked towards the castle's entrance to sign up. A strange sight, given the circumstances; she looked like she couldn't have been any more than ten, given her body size and voice. Even if she had the attitude for ten adults. "Hanging around with second class low life's just pisses me off; she should have known that..." She sighed in irritation, then shifted her thoughts to the hopeful; hopefully, something would make it worth it, so she wouldn't feel like burning this place down by tournament's end. As she drifted inside, her first thoughts weren't on signing in; she laid eyes on the complimentary snack bar, and floated unashamedly towards it.
  17. Temperance (Conceptual)
  18. @P-Jay, "...It sounds like you have something personal against this..." She stopped, chin under hoof, considering the situation. "Though you've never even met her..." She looked off to the wayside now, more heavily focused in thought than ever, then suddenly turned up to Raze, all tension gone in an instant. "Well, that's fine. I mean... somehow, despite the situation, I trust you. You don't come across to me as any sort of schemer. Just...troubled." She paused in contemplation, figuring that was the best way to put it out there. She didn't know this stallion, but she could sense a wounded soul when she saw one. -------- @J.R. "Well, considering..." As an after thought, she cast a spell, a small white line zipping from her horn, and over towards Ice Blizzard. It sank into his fur, and from there, began spreading, healing most of his injuries(though it was still best that he went to a hospital). She cast a similar spell on herself, letting out a rush of relief as her injured leg stitched itself back together. "I just healed both of us, and I can still keep going." She stuck out her tongue. "This sounds like my match."
  19. @J.R. Ivory Star blinked, and in a moment, the portal was gone. The ground returned to normal, and the sky cleared, the only evidence for it being there the lack of snow in the area. Ivory Star dropped to the, still careful to avoid landing on her injured leg, and looked over, at the wasteland that had been deposited in front of her. She hobbled over, passing through places where she could, and walking around segments where she couldn't. She knew Ice Blizzard by now, and was prepared for... something, but she was also prepared to take the both of them to the hospital, if need be. As Ivory once again looked down at her shattered leg, and thought about Ice's injuries, it was starting to feel more and more necessary.
  20. @J.R. Time seemed to slow. Though for Ivory, it was only the speed at which her mind was racing, and not magic, she could still see everything. Ice Blizzard. The earthquake. Shards of ice splitting into beautiful fragments as they raced towards her, threatening to swallow her whole... As Ivory Star jumped up, securing herself on a panel, space would suddenly seem to pulse. The world around her seemed to recede, as well, as an ugly black purple void emerged below her position, swallowing whatever it happened to come across. Rocks and trees alike all fell in, and were devoured, the ice quickly trailing after it like so many fast moving fingers. And she wasn't done yet. Above Ice Blizzard, a similar portal emerged, tearing a gash in the sky, enough to block out the false light hanging over the arena. Depositing every ounce of material that had been sent his way over on top of him, like the rush of a battalion of dragons. ------- "You... were sort of in a bad way." She tilted the words as they came, not wanting to speak on the true extent of the damage. Sometimes things were better left unsaid, she figured, as she turned over towards Raze. "You know, for what it's worth, even though i've known you for about...five minutes? I don't think you're a bad pony." She was quick to add the final part, looking him over with a shrug. "I mean, maybe just the slightest tendency to overreact, and you act on your impulses way too often. But you at least did what you did what you did because you thought you were helping others." She shrugged again. "Bad ponies don't tend to do that. Just saying."
  21. @J.R. "...Fine." Ivory Star nodded quickly, then hobbled off at a pace, wanting a good starting distance for what would presumably be both of their final techniques. For real, this time; she wasn't sure that either of their bodies could handle the strain of going on past what they already had. Though, she did have plenty of power left; she just needed to assume proper control of it. But that would be cheating, she thought, as she finally picked a good place to stand, readying herself for the last shot. Though, she did wonder how Ice Blizzard would feel, if he found out she hadn't been using the full extent of her powers. Probably cheated, came the mental reply, the air tensing as she filled it to the brim with energy, letting it circle her like small stars. She closed her eyes, deliberating, then, with a deep breath, decided, to hell with it. Just this once. Only this once. The stars fell.
  22. @J.R. "You're crazy, ya know?" Ivory Star shook her head in exasperation, as she leaned to the side, trying to keep off her injured leg. "I mean, I sorta guessed you were strong. You had to be, to be champion. But ice dragons and ice bombs, and... ice." She shrugged dismissively, then let out a sigh, repeating her previous expression over. "You could die, you know. Go on any longer like this, and you might fall apart. Literally." She tensed her eyes for emphasis, looking over at him.
  23. @P-Jay, Ivory Star looked between them, then realized she hadn't properly introduced herself, either. Might as well. She looked over to Lektra. "Ivory Star. Master of Magical Affairs at Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns. Pleased to meet you. Again..." She stopped, thinking to herself. Only now had she just realized the strangeness of this situation. "So... why were you stuck in a giant metal minotaur?" She turned back to Raze, giving him the same curious expression. "And why are you here? You don't look injured..." ------- Celestia considered it. That seemed likely the worst of ideas, all things considered; from someone who had been everything from a foal to an old mare in meeting with strangers, she had learned that the surprise was likely to be far worse when one wasn't upfront and honest from the beginning. But, under the circumstances, they had little choice. Keeping Chrysalis in her true form would likely cause far more trouble than it was worth. "That seems like the best possible option. Though, as for my niece, I am not sure of her location..." She looked off, toward the window. "You need have no qualms about being attacked, however. If necessary, I will step in myself." -------- @J.R. Ivory Star dropped down to the ground of the field moments later, for the first time truly contemplating this. Was it really worth it? Was being champion worth the prestige, if she ended up dismantling a friend in the process? Probably not. Best to go see if he was okay. Standing close enough to the water's edge to see, she looked down into its depths, searching for Ice Blizzard.
  24. @J.R. Ivory Star watched as her own attack was reflected back at her, and leveled a sigh. Okay. Concentrating, she opened up a purple veil in front of her, shielding herself off from the attack. The energy passed right through... And re-materialized, less than a few inches from behind Ice Blizzard's back. Too close to block with a massive hammer, or have much reaction at all, though somehow, she doubted this was over... ------- @P-Jay, "...Oh, so you two are finally awake. And... Raze?" The dark grey pony from before tilted her head in contemplation, as she padded into the room. "I think it was Raze. Anyways, hi, Ivory Star. I'm the pony who saved you, and nice to meet ya!" She flashed the widest of grins as she spoke, then let out a little shrug. "I suppose."
  25. @J.R. All of that set-up for a normal attack? Bait or trap... Ivory Star dropped the energy that she was standing on as the beam swept towards her, dipping under it. She re-materialized another one a moment later, slightly closer to the ground, and let out a grunt of pain as she landed on it. Broken shoulder. Somehow, she'd forgotten. Deciding to press her luck, she attacked. Drawing up a spiraling wave of tightly woven force, for extra penetrative power, she sent it directly towards Ice Blizzard. If anything was going to happen, it should happen soon, she thought, wondering how much energy this body still had left to afford. --------- Celestia paused. It was only the grace of a ruler that kept Celestia from shaking, though she'd felt the memories like a physical blow. The last of it seemed to fall away, however, as what she was about to do would no doubt violate every principle she had ever been taught. Everything that she'd ever been told. She didn't hesitate. Taking her remaining wing, she wrapped it around Chrysalis, and knelt down to her level, drawing her into a hug. "Chrysalis...Yes."
