  1. Hello! So I have been learning c++ for a bit now and I have a few questions regarding string(s) and char(s) I know how to get a string or char input but I am wondering how to separate a sentence into words without using multiple strings. For example: string example; cin >> example; If I input "Hello World" as the example string is there a way to tell the computer to separate the example string into two words, "Hello" and "World"? I would think that this would be done by detecting spaces somehow but I am not quite sure how. I am also wondering if there is a way to make the string ignore if the example string has uppercase and lowercase. And one last thing which is not about strings, how would I make a float or int random, for example: if(example == "hello") { cout << randomInt; } I would really appreciate any help, THANKS!
  2. Good idea, I don't know when, but that seems like something I'm going to want to make some day soon
  3. Well... that's... interesting, kind of reminds me of grimlock from transformers, he has always been my favorite.
  4. I put together a house in an hour or two, I tried to make it seem a little bit more solid and chunky as apposed to curved, smooth and cartoony like they are in the show, while still trying to keep it simple.
  5. Hey, umm I was trying to import your flash puppets into macromedia flash 8, and I am not too sure why but I get the error "One or more files were not imported because there were problems reading them" Do you know how I could fix this? I am using the version of flash that you had linked my to. Thanks for any help!
  6. Hello, so I have been animating using 3D programs for a few years now and have recently been moving into 2D, I have tried various animation softwares and had settled on using Toon Boom Animate Pro. Recently though I have been wanting to move into flash and have a few question regarding how different things transfer over. 1. Extend Exposure: In Toon Boom there is an option that says "Extend Exposure" which allows a certain object (drawing background etc) to be seen in more than just one frame, for example if I had a Fluttershy puppet/rig on frame 1 and I didn't want it to dissapear on frame 2, how would I do this? 2. Properly using motion tweens: This has been a problem for me in previous flash experiences I know how to add them but not how to PROPERLY add them and use them and I am wondering how exactly to to this. 3. Properly pose and animate a puppet: In previous experiences with flash I have tried using puppets and when I move, for example a leg, and set a keyframe and make a motion tween, I can get the leg to move but the whole rest of the puppet disappears, in the view and on render I am wondering how to fix this. This question I thought would most likely be answered in the first one "Extend Exposure" but I have it here just in case. 4.Any tips/tricks or advice for animating: This is just if you have any in general information that might be useful when animating in flash, for example things that you didn't know and had trouble with and then eventually figured out. Just to make things easier. Thanks for any replies! I am really hoping you guys/girls can answer these questions for me as they have been a problem for some time. Also any bite sized useful video tutorials would be great! (also, Admins, I reposted this because I thought it would be better here, I would take down the previous one but I am not quite sure if I can and if so, how)

  8. For me: Gabe Newell: You have to admire how succesful he was/is, he worked at micorsoft, made a few million dollars (a feat in itself) then he used that money to found a video game company that produces some of the best games in the world and is worth a few BILLION Lauren Faust: Anyone who can make something as amazing as this show must really know what they are doing. There are probably others that I just cannot think of right now, just because now I actually need to. I've always been a fan of programming, animation, game design, and just computers in general. I think that although it is 1 in a million 1 in a billion chance that I would ever be like that it is always best to try.
  9. Alright, next time I post something of this sort I'll remember to put it there. Also, thanks for the kind words
  10. Hello! It is just kind of a random question, but I am wondering what it would be like to see a male alicorn in the show? Personally I think it would be really cool to see a stallion alicorn. I think it would be interesting if he was either played as a villain, maybe not someone long ago defeated as that is pretty played out by now. Or as someone that the princess's need to work with to stop another enemy. For the most part I would just want hasbro/dhx to do something original and interesting. what do you think would happen? How would he be played? or what would he be like? How would the fan base respond?
  11. Hasbro may try to change the characters which will most likely fail, they tried this with generation 2 of transformers with rodimus and galvitron, personally I hated those characters nad I hope this will never happen again.
  12. That sounds interesting... I'll wait unti there are (hopefully) a few more replies before deciding Thanks for the suggestion!
  13. Hello! So I do 3D modeling as a hobby and I usually like to have one big project that I am working on at a time, otherwise I just get bored or distracted. In the past I have made various models, such as dragons or demons, and at one point I made Discord, But now I am wondering what would be something interesting to model, I was thinking about making tirek but before I started I thought I would ask around and see if there was anything better or more interesting that I could make. It doesn't have to be mlp although I would probably prefer it. Some things I have made previously are below. I think this could be an interesting thread not only for me but for others who want to work on something as well or want to share something that they have made. So feel free to share models in a reply or something. Thanks!
  14. It really depends what she likes, pick an episode that you think she specifically would enjoy, as for suggestions... maybe magic duel or something if she is in to harry potter Personally I showed my friend the return of harmony and most episodes with Discord, he claims he does not really like the show but that is very odd considering he will hum songs from the show and sometimes make little references and admittedly likes dr whooves, discrod and finds pinkie funny, he even asked if I wanted to watch the show a few times... how odd of him...
  15. For me, probably to do 3D design or something as a job, I have been doing it as a hobby for a few years and I don't think I'm too bad at it.
  16. That would be really nice name, the problem is if you named a daughter that, although you may not mind criticism she might. Being named after a tv character or famous person usually causes problem / embarrassment.
  17. That there is some Pokémon talk. A bit off topic, but I think that your avatar or profile pic is really nice!
  18. Thanks the replies! as for the: part, that is just what was used in the book I am reading on C++ Another question, if I use the int main(int nNumberofArgs, char*pszArgs[]) will it limit me in anyway? or cause significant problems in the future? or is it not a big deal if I just keep using that part? Thanks again!
  19. Hello! so recently I have been wanting to learn C++, I have some prior programming knowledge and I know the basis how things work in a program. I think that if I understand how it works I will be able to learn better. So I have a few questions. If anyone could do their best to answer that would be great! 1. what does this mean? int main(int nNumberofArgs, char*pszArgs[]) 2. What do these mean? cin.ignore(10, '\n'); cin.get(); return 0; Thanks for any help! I'll probably have further question in the future.
  20. I'm to young to have kids at the moment. I also think that if someone is named after a video game / movie / tv character it could be bad for various reasons
  21. Hello, just a quick question/thought. Is Celestia a real name? I was just wondering because I was playing terraria and I had set up homes for npc's to move into and it said "Celestia the dryad has moved in" I was thinking it was probably a reference (an awesome one) because terraria is full of them, but then again maybe it's not. I know "Celestial" is a real word and "Celest" is a name if I am correct. Anyway, Thanks for any replies!
  22. That is actually a really good idea, I am not too sure about being transported to warhammers world (I have never actually played the game) but I think it can be dangerous to plant a character in another world like that, but I love the idea of them being changed by realistic things, one of my favorite things about the show is seeing each of the mane 6's reaction to different things but we never see them react to horrible things like war (for obvious reasons I'm sure) For example twilight always seems to either have a solution or find one in like 30 seconds and it is almost always love or something, It would be interesting seeing her change over time and how she would react when there was no perfect solution.
  23. Hello! So I have been doing 3D animation for a few years now and I have wanted to try 2D I am attempting to learn flash, specifically for animating ponies. I have downloaded flash CS6 and the pony puppets and I am wondering how to use them, I have searched for tutorials on how to animate them but I have not found any worth while that actually teach anything about them. So now on to my real question: Do you guys/girls know of any decent tutorials on how to animate ponies in flash? or any websites that teach it? or any way to learn how to do it? If so it would be fantastic if you could leave a reply with an answer to any of the above questions. Thanks!
