yep, that discord is me  I honestly don't know the fluttershy, I just saw her in the dealer's room.

I finally finished my discord costume just in time for a-Kon despite not being able to finish it in time for nightmare nights. I was even lucky enough to run into a fluttershy at the con. Let me know what you think of it.

WHY DO I LOVE THIS SO MUCH

I don't know, why do you? I know why I do ^^

So I've created an animation of one of my characters, Fancy hooves, doing a very simple portion of a swing dance, I've been absorbed in electro swing music as of late and have noticed that I haven't seen many transfer the style of dance onto ponies. Since I decided to give it at try I figured I might as well see what you all think about it.

 she stuck them on like cutiemarks and as she is running they're flying off...why is that so hard to see?   

I think the cutie mark idea is based of the cutie mark crusaders. They try to find their cutie mark and there is a range of them. I. Guessing your cat has a lot of talents.

Actually at the moment she doesn't have a cutie mark, it's just supposed to be a sticky note she stuck on there herself.

Echidna is from Greek Myth which the show uses a lot of already. So it is possible we'll see Echidna appear in some form. A "mother of all monsters" is too cool to not be used

I agree, we have already seen queens used throughout such as queen crysaliss so I don't see why not, though I suppose this lands my head cannon firmly into the fan fiction category.

I have a pretty cool headcanon about that: There is a monster in Tartarus called the Echidna. (I imagine at as being some never fully seen and incomprehensible Lovecraftian horror sort of like Azothoth. It has birthed many of the major monsters of the world like the Sirens and Discord.

 

Now that I've said it though, it can never possibly be canon.

you never know, I've heard other head cannons that became true, though I suppose that one is a bit far fetched when talking of the show.

 the last style, I like how it doesn't have any outer lines. Makes it look smooth and soft.

 

The first and second seem almost similar, maybe it's because one has shading and lighting and the other doesn't? In any case they are good and I hope you keep it up.

Yeah between those two I was just testing how shading effected the style when paired with colored line art, turns out shading just makes it epic looking where as it looks cartoonish when left out.

Forth picture is the worst, because of lack of counters.

You need to work on proportions: On the second picture I made to short neck.

On the 3th picture, necks are too long.

Yeah it goes from most recent to earliest well mostly, the one with the necks that are too long I worked on for around six weeks while I was working on the short neck. glad to know I've been getting better. 

I like the styles 1,2,and 3 the best!

 

But just go with what you think is the best, that's how you have to go about it. Keep trying new things too!

So I've been experimenting with styles while drawing ponies for a little while now and I figured it would do me good to see what other people thought of them and which ones they liked best.

Very interesting idea about the cat/pony hybrid.

lol I only thought it up because I act like a cat all the time so it's only natural for my ponysona to do the same.

So now that makes me wonder, what about Tia and Luna's parents? what happened to them? or even discord's.

Yours is quite adorable to be honest with you. I also have a ponysona as well that I hand-drawn myself. Anyway, the line-work is not so bad, could be better on the shading and highlights, but other than that, great coloring choice!

I was going for a rather flat cartoony feel for this one which is why I chose to leave them off though I think I have got a new way to do shading now so I think i'm improving.

I feel like it might be a bit to detailed if i were to do those, though I might try a few simplistic whiskers. 

I just figured Discord was "born" when the land was in disharmony. He could have been born before that though. All I know for sure is that he came into power when the world was lacking harmony. So, I guess the disharmony between ponies made him stronger, if it wasn't what created him.

It's hard to tell if he's older than the sisters. He SOUNDS and LOOKS older, but that doesn't really mean anything when you're a spirit.

Discord would have had to have come after Journal of the Two Sisters because Luna and Celestia only just learn about the Tree of Harmony during the book, and The Elements were needed to defeat Discord.

 

They also have their Cutie Marks when they face Discord which they don't earn till during the book.

I always though he would have go be born and grow long before he rose to power. So even if he was born from disharmony it could have been with the first spark of it and grown as it spread thus making him likely as old or even older than the sisters but his rise to power falling in line with the events previously stated.

0. Luna and Celestia are born.

1. Pre-hearths warming-- the tribes are separate. The moon and sun are the responsibility of Star Swirl and other unicorns (according to the journal of the two sisters).

2. Hearths warming-- Equestria is formed and the tribes are united. The tree of Harmony begins to sprout.

3. Discord's rule-- disharmony returns amongst the now-united tribes, and Discord is born

4. The sisters rise-- Celestia and Luna (who were born as Alicorn royals, but perhaps just figureheads at the time) stand up to Discord and take over, using the newly discovered elements of Harmony.

At their coronation as rulers of Equestria, they meet Star Swirl the Bearded (journal of the two sisters). Here's where we get into speculation. I'm guessing the rule of Discord didn't last long...either that, or Star Swirl was raising the sun as a colt before the Princesses came around. We know he was never an Alicorn, so his lifespan should have been normal. It IS possible that he met the sisters at their initial coronations back when they were figureheads and didn't actually rule anything, but I doubt it.

5. The crystal empire vanishes (1000 years ago, I think)

6. Luna is corrupted, then banished. Celestia now holds all the elements.

7. Where our story begins--Luna returns

8. The elements of Harmony gain new weilders, and their bonds to the princesses are severed.

9. Discord's spell is broken...but that doesn't last long.

10. The crystal empire resurfaces, and Sombra is defeated. Also there's a royal wedding. Woo.

11. A new princess is crowned. (Fawst states Twilight was supposed to be Celestia's heir, but as of yet she doesn't really rule anything. Hopefully season 5 will clear things up.)

12. Tirek escapes and is defeated

13. Twilight is officially crowned Princess of Friendship.

I don't think discord's rule and discord's birth are as close in time as you seem to make them, I always assumed he was about the same age as celestia or luna, though I must admit that the princesses being crowned after taking him down seems more likely then them being overthrown by him for a short time.

Would maybe little tufts of hair on both sides of the head work? Some cats have that and I think it'd work. It looks really cute btw.

I thought about the fluff but it seems like it's more associated with male cats so I'm a bit cautious about putting it in and causing  mix up, and thanks 

Ya, you don't have to add every possible characteristic you can think of, but add something else that a cat has that you can put on. Btw nice work on the picture in general... not a lot of people can create something original around here.

I might end up adding a bell or a cat collar as an accessory since those can turn out rather simple, and thanks, I much prefer doing original things, explains my other two ocs 

I like it... It's unique! Looking at the picture without reading the post doesn't look like a cat pony hybrid, maybe if you add whiskers and like a little cat nose it would make the picture look more like a cat. Other than that it looks good!

thanks I'll have to give the nose a try though I feel as though whiskers may be a bit too detailed. I'm thinking of swapping the hair to a flat color too.
