  1. "Cockatrices?!" Melody beamed. "I can't wait to see what they actually look like! Oh, oh, do you think we will see a Phoenix?!" Melody kept going on about the flowers and unknown animals in the cave. When Daring had finally put her hoof over her mouth there was a clucking sound, then a dragons roar. "Oh dear Celestia! What was that?!" Ruby asked getting ready to head out and away from the cave. Melody looked through the darkness and saw glowing red eyes. It'd.ucked and dashed towards Ruby, grabbing her and running away. "Helllllppppp!" she yelled but when she got far enough her voice started echoing. "Already? I would usually get caught at the end when I'm about to steal an accent artifact that has a trap near it or when I'm fighting a large hoard of Colts, but now somepony gets captured before we even head in?" said Daring trying to shove shame into Melody's heart. "We have to save her! The cockatrice went into t-the Evergreen Forest!" Melody yelled trying to hide her fear from Daring. She levitated the lamp using her magic galloped forward with no fear whatsoever.

Could we ignore this post? I have no idea who Melody is (the person never signed up), she godmodded, and the Crystal Epmire would be far too cold to sustain a full forest (it's been shown to be to the far northen regions of Equestria, and yeah...)

I'm not posting this on the RP thread because of reasons obvious - I want to get the reactions and thoughts of all RP participants before roleplaying - so, yeah, tell me if y'all want to keep a plot smiilar to this, and we can probably do that.

  2. Daring flicked an ear absentmindedly, thinking of the ten minutes she had spent researching that part. "Vampire bats, most likely," she replied. "Maybe some cockatrices." Monsters were things she was used to, and she had gone on plenty adventures in the Crystal Empire and at least one in its caves. She was mainly calling upon that knowledge here. "Speaking of cockatrice..." She jerked her head towards one, though it took somepony with good eyesight to notice it, seeing as it was many centimetres out of the illumination of Ruby's lantern.

  3. "I hope you won't be putting anything too juicy in our adventures, Daring." Ruby blushed slightly at the thought of other ponies knowing her secrets. "I do have kids who love your books, you know."

Daring Do couldn't stop herself from chuckling. "No, no. Let me rephrase that: Anything that fillies are going to want to read will be in the book." She was fully ware of her younger fanbase (if a pony who seemed to be almost illiterate from her vocabulary liked them, then so would a kid, plus the book signings were far from ambiguous), and in fact most of her adventures involved much more violence than the books held. "I'll be giving each of you previews anyway, so if you think something's too violent, send me a letter and I'll edit it out." She didn't want to get sued for slander (seriously, once she mistook a completely legal hunter for a serial killer) because she misunderstood something somepony said, which had been the main reason she had decided to do so.
  4. As soon as Rena was alone she decided to find out how to meet someone else in the group, she decided to not annoy Daring because after some books a friend readed to her, but she was so excited having someone like Daring to her side than she couldnt control herself to avoid being annonying, as soon as Rena walked to Daring she reminded to herself "BE CHILL, DONT GET OVEREXCITED" so she started trying to not look awkward, while looking at the floor trying to avoid visual contact said "Hi Daring, umm, i just wonder.. is this going to be in the books?..."

Daring flicked her eyes to the filly... magical rag doll? Whatever she preferred to be called. Probably just Rena. "Yep, every part that ponies are going to want to read'll be in a book." She shrugged casually, the idea of starring in a novel normal to her. "I haven't thought of a title yet, but I'll probably think of something." Her first thought had been simply "Daring Do and the Crystal Cave", as it sounded good and captured the plot well enough, but upon further thought she decided it should have some involvement of the others. "Daring Do and the Completely Different Ponies Who Joined Her Either Because They Wanted The Treasure Or Because They Liked Her Books" was too long.

  5. "Well, too bad... I suck at all kinds of battling... Boxing, wrestling, you name it, can't do it... But I'm good at running away though." (joking around)

Daring frowned at this. She didn't have much if a sense of humor... Or any at all, in fact. "Well, at least running away means you won't burden us worrying about you," she said, trying to be optimistic. She didn't want to drive everypony away before they even got to the important parts. Yeah, that would mean she kept the whole treasure, but she was in it mainly to have a book series, not for the riches. They would come with the sales of books anyway.

  6. "We're going into a mysterious, unexplored cave. I doubt Ahuizotl's going to come along, but yeah, I'd say battle tactics and weapons are important." She glanced into her saddlebag as she walked deeper into the cave. For this mission, she had actually brought materials rather than just her own brawn. Of course, most of it had nothing to do with actual battle, more the healing, but she expected her intelligence would be enough.

"I hope I'm not overdressed," she said, flaunting the shoes on her hooves. "As much as I don't like getting them dirty, I'm sure if we can just get to that treasure, it will all be worth it."

As the mare said this, Daring looked at her own clothing - the usual vest and her hat, which she straightened for the sake of it. "Yeah, I'd say you're fine as long as they don't restrain your movement." Surprise attacks were common in such places, and they wouldn't have time to take off their accessories to battle.
  7. Daring grinned, stepping inside the cave. "That's good enough for me. If any of you chicken out, though I doubt that'll happen, say so and I'll fly you to a safer spot you can go from." She had made sure to choose only those who she thought would do well... Okay, and maybe one or two she doubted would. A story wouldn't be complete if all the characters in it were flawless adventurers. "I managed to make a rough sketch of the map from information I got through a few books, so we should be going in... this direction!" she declared.

Outside the cave Daring Do stood, looking inside for any immediate dangers. The Crystal Empire may be a peaceful place since Sombra's death, but that didn't mean all dangers magically disappeared with him. She had read enough books to know that. "Are all of you ready?" she asked her small team. "I'm not going back outside when we're deep inside just so you can go potty, so you'd better do whatever you need to."

  9. May i join? it would be my very first role playing game but im really wanting to try it i will do my maximal effort :3 my character is this: http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/rena-the-rag-doll-r7471 and i think it would fit nice in the history. Can i? :please:

I guess, though since I don't want too many characters here I'll delete Dawn Drops and RP Daring Do instead.

I've made the actual RP thread now, by the way. Yay. It's on the first post.

  10. Actual RP: http://mlpforums.com/topic/114492-the-adventurers/

Daring Do. Just about everyone has heard of her - the famous author who writes adventure, goes adventuring, and most importantly: works alone. However, after the encounter with Rainbow Dash, she has decided that, on more challenging, less time-constrained tasks, a few partners wouldn't hold her back too much, as long as they follow her orders (and don't mind having this adventure blatantly copied down on a book).

After hearing of an ancient treasure in a cave of the Crystal Empire, she called for a small group of ponies to work with her and find this rumoured fortune. They were promised a portion of it, of course, but medical bills? Supplies? All up to them.

    Rules//

    1. Please, proper grammar. I don't mind a few mistakes, but don't make your posts ridiculous. D:
    2. If you leave the roleplay, please say so. I'd also prefer if you wrote out an in-character post explaining their leave.
    3. The OCs can be any species except alicorns.
    4. You can RP canons if you'd like, as long as the character would fit in the plot.

  11. My theory is that maybe they did the same things/made the same mistakes. One day, the human Sunset leaned aganist the statue while the portal was open, falling through it and transporting her there. As far as I'm aware, nobody orignially from CHS has walked through it, so it might change their coat colour or something. Upon seeing the ponies and herself, she decided it was a good way to make a new start and thus gave herself a new name, before finding some bits and randomly boarding a train or something. She went to the Crystal Empire and claimed she had amnesia so that Cadence or somepony else would tell her about Equestria's customs and stuff, after which she fit in decently.

  12. Slowly, High Tide alighted the train, the loud noises of the city immediately reaching her ears. In this way, Manehatten was different from Canterlot. While both were developed cities, hers was a peaceful one in which crime was rare whereas the other was filled with shady businesses... relatively speaking. Regardless of this, she came here often; yes, she could get robbed, but the other perks outweighed this. She hadn't even witnessed a crime the past three times she came anyway, despite her expensive saddlebag and noise-making shoes.

She began to wander around, taking in the sights as she trotted. Let's see... Where's the hotel? She had not brought a map (testament to her stupidity), so she was on her own here.

  13. I only watched the movie recently, and Aria was probably my favourite. Somewhat because her colour scheme reminded me of Jhudora from Neopets. Her voice's pretty cool too.
