  1. The last time I posted in this thread, MLP merch was a far and distant thing for me, but now, as of today, I'm waiting for 3 packages full of figures along with a Fluttershy 4de plush and last friday, I received my first MLP merch package as a brony, containing 3 funko pops. Here's what my collection will look like after I receive my next orders:

    • Fluttershy Funko POP
    • Celestia Funko POP
    • Twilight Sparkle Funko POP
    • Fluttershy Funko Vinyl Figure
    • Rarity Exclusive Funko Vinyl Figure
    • Pinkie Pie Funko Vinyl Figure
    • Rainbow Dash Black Glitter Variant Funko Vinyl Figure
    • Derpy Funko Vinyl Figure
    • Trixie Funko Vinyl Figure
    • Discord Funko Vinyl Figure
    • Fluttershy 4th Dimension Plush

And i don't regret the 250$ spent for those XD. And I might spend some more money on more merch... so I can increase my merch army...

    Bonus:

A photo of my 3 funko pops on my shelf (sorry for bad quality, my phone is not a Canon Camera lol):

    Cute!

  2. This was a decent enough episode and here's why:

First, there's the style of this episode, with this strange mood setting in progressively, until the "apocalypse" started

Also, I could have said that the way they learned Dash her lesson was not fair, but it was the best they could have done it and it basically shows to her what her pranks feels to anypony, but they maybe put that one to a way bigger proportion with that zombie prank compared to the ones she did, but you know in the same time, Dash is one pony who can be out of these types of dangerous situations, so that's that.

This is also an episode that developped Dash in some way and it may have seemed that she could had been developped episodes ago, but for me it was alright on that point.

This episode was also funny at points even if it kinda got repetitive with the pranks at the beginning, as it affected the pace somehow.

Talking about the pace, it wasn't perfect because the zombie prank could have got a bigger place in this episode, but it was not the worst pace either.

Also, it was predictable in a way, but I knew the story because of the promos, so I'm not too big on that.

Also bonus, when the zombie ponies said "COOKIES!" it reminded me of this :

TL;DR: Nice episode with a nice style/humour and some developpement for Rainbow Dash, but it kinda got repetitive in the beginning and the pace wasn't the best, but overall, like I said, nice episode.

    Rating: 8 to 8.5/10

    • I would give Twilight Sparkle A Voivod record or any mathematically progressive record, because some of Voivod's best records are very progressive and "organized" if you allow me the term :P and she would enjoy this intelligent and genious kind of music.

I would give Applejack a Pantera record, because it fits her more western personnality and she would really like it.

I would give Pinkie Pie any crossover thrash record, like any record from D.R.I. because in general, crossover seems like a very bouncy genre of music, and I think that Pinkie would really get along with a record of this kind.

I would give Fluttershy a Gojira record, because their lyrics are really ecological and for the animals and she would like their music very much.

I would give Rainbow Dash an Old School Thrash Metal record and if I can be more specific, a Razor record, because their music is badass just like Dashie and her personnality and she would enjoy the heck of one of their records.

I would give Rarity a Symphony X record, because this pony seems to really enjoy classical music and a Symphony X record would make her enjoy this fusion of metal and classical music.

  3. This episode was kinda off to me for some reasons.

The CMC wanted to change the minds of their sisters (except Scootaloo, because RD is not her real sister)

But I felt that they were kinda in the background a little too much with their minimalistic interactions.

And it was just there at the end, as always, that they realised that they did not talked about it in the first place, but it was undertsandable in some way, because they seemed to be really involved in this project, but in the end when AJ, RD and RR realised it, it felt weird to me.

I think it could have been better as for the execution of this as an whole.

And when it came to the ribbon, it kinda got predictable on the ponies who would want to win those.

As for the positives, there's the moral somehow, that people can relate to a lot if they had parents/more experienced friends that kinda take the whole work for themselves in collaborative projects.

There is also the humour at times with those little jokes from time to time.

But other than that, pretty average episode to me, nothing more to really say on that.

TL;DR: Average episode, with the caracters actions/interactions being the main flaw in this one (wanna know why? read the full review), but the moral spoke to me and there is some jokes and giggles here and there.

    Rating: 7 to 7.5/10

This sounds really epic and atmospheric, love the overall set-up of this song with this heavy main riff who does not take too big of a space in this song.

I also can't wait for his Facebook Q&A that will be live-streamed on next Wednesday.

  5. Before I turned into a teenager and eventually found my true musical tastes, the music that defined my childhood was simply rock music that played through the car's radio. But one band had music that truly spoked to me and it was The Doors. Why? Because my dad really liked to put on those compilation discs from them that he used to (still) insert inside the cd player the car had and it got me to hear a lot of their most meaningful material. Their songs basically forged my childhood and helped me to not fall inside this pit of mainstream music that I heard in the radio often.

Here's, to me, two symbolic songs from them:

  6. So, this was a good episode to say the least.

This one introduced us to Quibble Pants, a caracter who really did not seem to like the other Daring Do books because of some realism issues. Himself kinda covered some of the bad aspect of this episode, mainly due to the fact that he was a bit too harsh on that aspect of the books and he kinda got repetitive at some point in the episode and it kinda got ols. But I do understand that the writers wanted to showcase a caracter that is like someone who really can critic a lot of the things in a story, just like some diehard fans in this fandom. He kinda covered the side of this fandom that likes the earlier episodes and that is truly accurate.

And that, of course, all led to this greatly executed moral that everyone can look upon, because it does make a point in that some of us like things in a series that some of us might dislike and Quibble said it all by himself, and that helped his caracter I'd say :adorkable:

And it was certainly funny at part, like some of Quibble's remarks early on in the adventure (before they somehow got really repititive), and it kinda got immersive after a while (in the Daring Do adventure that is)

Also, I'm surely not the only who liked the end-credits there, it kinda maked me remember of some other cartoons who did that already.

So you know, it was kinda good, but not the best for sure :squee:

TL;DR: Quibble Pants might have been too harsh and repetitive on the realism and all, but his caracter was realistic and they surely nailed him in some way. Then you add the humour and the immersive Daring Do adventure, then yeah, you got Stranger Than Fanfiction, a nice episode.

    Rating: 8.5 to a late 9/10

I also might add a late negative point here: the pace of the events before the adventure, aside from all of that it was mostly alright.
