  1. @dragon4111 No, uh... I'm referring to "Of course, she was caught off guard by the appearance of Ghalan’s family and their mode of transport." which, sounded rather odd, mostly considering well, first off, they're dead, second they're kind of... dead. Mostly is just me nitpicking though, I guess.
  2. @Drago Ryder Not to nitpick, but, the bird didn't land per say. It became a human in the air and they all landed on their feet, on the avenue. Also, I hate to nitpick more, but, when did Ghalan's family come on their giant bird as well? I really don't mean to nitpick at all. Just trying to clear up the confusion of the first part and mostly for the second part make fun of a subconscious mistake. This text would be much more appreciative if it was presented with Ruby's face and voice, but, sadly, it is not so. And, I have to say, it would be awesome if it was. I'm sure you agree.
  3. Heathlife looked up at the pony and said "Its Heathlife, and I don't own the bench, so go right on ahead." he said as he levitated the coin satchel he had put on the bench closer to him. He then decided to respond to the first conversational topic "Also, It's completely normal for a pony who has never been to a festival or a party for that matter. To be lost in what to do, although, I guess you wouldn't know about that." he sighed "Its funny, ever since the accident, fewer and fewer ponies know about me. I even heard my name was removed from most new magical education books. Like I became a taboo in the magic society... Those fools." he said with a cold and almost disdainful tone. He then quickly added "Oh, wait, excuse my manners. May I hear your name?"
  4. @dragon4111@Acnologia@silvermoon15000@Drago Ryder As the usual day was ongoing in Beacon Academy while waiting for the VYTL Festival to begin... The sound of heavy wings flapping was heard. And on the horizon, some student saw a giant rainbow-colored bird, appearing as if out of nowhere. The bird had a total of six eyes, two pairs of wings and seemed to be heading at full speed toward Beacon! Some of the students fled or retreated to grab their weapons as it approached. A loud screech was heard from it and then a feminine voice echoed from above the being "Beacon Academy. As according to the pact, between the Star-eyed Slayers and the Academies, we, who have decided to enter your grounds, are here to protect you, as well as be protected." as the voice ended its line the giant bird was directly over the Main Avenue, then, the bird slowly shrunk until it became a human clothed in deep blue leather-like metal armor, the people who were on the back of the bird wore similar armor except one. As she wore a floral-patterned kimono... And upon all of their faces, was a mask. Each one had a different visual shape on their mask. When they landed, the total count was 19 people. One of the people spoke to the one wearing a kimono "Elder Leumentra, are you sure it was fine to leave without the Matriarch?" the kimono wearing female named Leumentra laughed and responded justly "If we had let her, I'm afraid Beacon might have lost a teacher or two. You know how she is." the others could visibly be seen trembling, if it was from the cold way to treat one's matriarch or if it's from fear of the matriarch, no one knows. But, one could clearly see, this matriarch wasn't someone to mess around with. Leumentra looked around them and then said "What a shame, I thought Young Master Etherius would be here to greet us. I had heard he pushed his semblance too hard, I hope it didn't end up like last time." she said, with some worry hidden in her words. They then began walking toward Beacon tower slowly, with countless students staring at them, in shock, awe, and fear. Possibly other emotions too. ----- This past month Etherius had actually not returned to his dorms, he had been outside. Often beside this one bird, he even talked to it sometimes, and once, a pair of huntsmen thought they heard it reply back. The truth is, that bird is the guard assigned to Etherius. She was told to keep herself hidden from Etherius, but, he had found it out while they were fighting back in the forest trial. That is why he had a great amount of confidence in them not getting harmed, the only reason she didn't intervene back when the Grimm attacked in Everfall was that Etherius wasn't in any bigger danger, she was only there to protect him after all. The last day of that month past, the bird let go of her transformation and said to Etherius "You're really persistent, young master. You know that part of your semblance is next to useless, yet you train it so much. You haven't even advanced that much ever since you reached two and a half times increase when you were twelve." Etherius looked at her, she was dressed in her normal guard attire, the same as the ones in the avenue right now. He then closed his eyes and breathed in, then he opened them and said "While I can say that I do agree. I can also say this, at this point, I cannot advance my semblance unless I train all of it. I can't focus on one single aspect." he then stretched his arm forward and seemed as if he wanted something "My mask if you kindly." he said as she removed a secondary mask that was hanging at the side of her waist and gave it to him, she then sighed and said "Are you really going back to them? You won't get stronger here than what you would get at home, you could potentially become weaker." the tone she said was full of disdain towards beacon, Etherius stood with his back to her and then responded "Maybe so, but I can learn much greater things here. And achieve a grander purpose. Besides, I, as the leader of team ESER have already overspent my time away, long ago." he said as he was beginning to walk toward the room of team ESER, with a mask adorning his face. The mask was entirely black with no facial features and a crescent moon on his forehead, the only other notable feature would be that the stars in his pupils were the only visible eye trait.
  5. Heathlife looked as the guards walked away then sighed and said "Persistent brat..." he then looked toward his tower in the distance "I feel like they'll trouble me if I go back, besides, these serve as great distractions to my work." he said, laying a sarcastic tone on the word great as he looked at the satchel. His horn lit up as the bag lifted into the air, however, it wasn't enveloped in a magical aura. If one were to be observant enough they would realize that a small glimmer of a magical aura was seen on its bottom. He didn't know what to buy, he didn't even know what half the things were so he was mostly just going around looking at the things. He didn't want any sweets or anything, well, he doesn't know what they taste like in the first place. So he ended up sitting on a bench with the pouch next to him, muttering to himself "I don't know what to buy, and this day will be dreadfully boring just looking."
  6. Okay, so, confusion might stem from my post. So, I will be explaining the ranking system that I just introduced. The system has six different steps and each step has nine different grades. The steps go as follows, from strongest to weakest: Zephyr, Breeze, Typhoon, Phantom, Hurricane, Lotus. To better take notice of their strengths, here would be a breakdown. Zephyr: Equal to roughly 10-15 professional huntsmen. They serve as protectors of the Malvaleine's training grounds. Breeze: Equal to roughly 5-9 professional huntsmen. They are mostly assigned to get rid of more troublesome requests. Typhoon: Equal to roughly 1-4 professional huntsmen. They usually get sent on high-level requests or when there is a rescue mission or when Vale could be in danger. Phantom: Equal to roughly 1-2 professional huntsmen. These differ from Typhoons as they serve as protectors of the inner family. Hurricane: Equal to roughly 1-8 huntsmen. They are finished recruits who have yet to receive their ranking. Lotus: Equal to an unknown amount of huntsmen. These are the current recruits, they range wildly in terms of abilities. And as you probably realize, the higher up you go in strength the less of them there are. These strength results also roughly get divided in half whilst fighting Grimm. These are of course subject to change according to @Drago Ryder's wishes.
  7. Etherius had told them he would go to the dorms, sadly, he had no option to do so. He had ventured out to a remote area where few students wandered. He then sent a message to someone via his scroll, almost instantly afterward, he picked up his scroll again as he had gotten a message back. He felt the struggle in his arms and the quivering in them as he picked up his scroll. Upon looking, he saw it was a video message. He made sure no one was around and played it. Upon his scroll a masked person was shown, the mask was entirely black, and the only light from the person was their eyes, which had visible stars in them. They started speaking instantly after the message started "Young Master, thanks for notifying us so quickly. I will be sending your Aunt, Leumentra. Three fourth-grade typhoons and fifteen eighth-grade phantoms to Vale for monitoring. I also notified your mother, Matriarch Lara." the message then ended, he sighed at the fact that his mother had been notified, however, no time to worry about that. He sat cross-legged and summoned his claws, he gently sat them on his knees palm down, then he concentrated on them. The shape of the claws didn't change at first, but then, they slowly had ripples made on their surface. Etherius felt the struggle, but, bit by bit, as he continued, it became easier. He felt his body going into balance. He then stopped as he felt there was nothing more this type of re-balancing would achieve. He clearly felt that the rest of his fatigue was from natural causes, thus he decided to meditate to simulate sleeping, he did this for about thirty minutes. He no longer felt the fatigue, but, he knew it was still there. He decided to message his teammates "Sorry, I'll be out all day. Probably won't come back at night. Don't search for me, and don't worry. I'll be fine." he said before going to an even more remote area of the academy near the edge, as he arrived, a bird was alone there.
  8. Heathlife sighed and looked at the bat pony '...That insufferable... little...' he dismissed the thought as he decided it was worthless. Thus, his calm face and mind returned. As he followed the guards he noticed the whole town was more lively than usual, most likely the festival's work. He was quickly led through the city since people parted way from the guards, staring at him... How annoying. Those inferior ponies who can't even cultivate their own talents, how annoying... They didn't even know who he was, even though he is certainly the most worthy of being known inside of Canterlot, even today. However, now wasn't the time. Soon they arrived at a place where the guards stopped, Heathlife wasn't too sure, but, they were here. The two of them had talked along the way, but, Heathlife paid no mind, they're beneath him.
  9. Etherius condition had gotten a bit better, however, the mental drain had started to show on his body. As Rei and Euca came up and pointed it out to be his aura he felt the need to correct them "While my condition is similar to an overuse of one's aura, it isn't completely right. My current condition stems from the mental side-effects of me pushing my semblance too far. I tried to see if I could break the limit I have reached, simply, I increased my reaction time by three times. The result was an overdose of information in my brain, so once I stopped using my semblance my brain went haywire..." he took a little pause to breathe properly "I do appreciate your concerns, but I do have my own ways to deal with this... So, Shian you tell them about it and I'll be heading to the dorm." he felt a headache coming on and said somewhat pained "I hope I'll see you all later" before heading to their room in the dorms.
  10. Heathlife was in the same tower as he has been for the past year... months? Had it been a week maybe? Time itself had been lost, he couldn't tell day to day. He always sat there, question after question... answer after answer, another distraction after the other. His body continually completed them as his mind was out... wandering the depths of his psyche, plotting, thinking, trying to orient himself in an endless void. He always felt as if he grasped something, then it slipped. He tried to fix it, but, if he can't find it... how can he? His body jumped and his mind was dragged to acknowledge the outer world as a knock was on the door. He had no time to orient himself as the door opened. He felt the air change as someone walked up to him, yet, in his confusion, he could not act. He heard a voice... but he couldn't understand it, how could he? When even his own thoughts currently fall short from nausea. He couldn't even see through his eyes clearly, but he did not panic... He didn't even feel it, but, suddenly his body had collapsed on the floor. His mind felt as if it revolved numerous times in his brain before stopping. Then a sharp light flooded into his vision, he squinted his eyes, he felt his heartbeat, his breathing... And he looked up at the guard... Why was there a guard here? Had he been allowed free roam? After so long? After his plans were found? Had it even been a day? So many questions, but, no answers would be heard, even if the guard knew them. Such was his life, endless questions with no answers. He tried to stand and found it troublesome, his muscles didn't listen to him. The guard in front of him most likely tried to help him, but Heathlife rejected it. As he finally stood up he looked at the guard closer... When he looked at the guard, he saw it was a unicorn... how wonderful, he saw it was levitating one of the pieces of paper he had on the floor, then the guard spoke "I'm here to escort you... miss... mister? Heathlife" the guard stared at the words on the paper, as if Heathlife cared, he didn't even respond to the guard as they started speaking again "For the friendship festival? I was told to escort you, forcibly if needed." as they said this Heathlife groaned at his predicament, he was so close to fixing his shattered spell, yet, so far away. He looked at the guard with a disdainful look as he said "I'll comply, for now." the guard led the way out and Heathlife, for the first time in who knows how long, saw the spires of Canterlot, the majestic mountain, castle, and buildings. Of course, they all looked small, minuscule, brittle and utmost pointlessly decorated in his eyes, more than usual.
  11. @Acnologia@Drago Ryder@dragon4111@silvermoon15000 As soon as Shian and Etherius' talk had ended, the real side-effects of Etherius pushing his mental limit on his semblance took a hold of his body as everything around him seemed to speed up and slow down momentarily, causing him to feel extremely nauseated. He had trouble hearing due to the heavy load his mind had from these side-effects, he had heard Glynda when she came and talked, and listened to everything. Even noticed most things, but, he could barely move his body without extreme mental strain. For his brain it seemed as if everything slowed down and sped up at varying intervals, this was the cause for his trouble moving, as the feeling he had in his hands went against that what his mind was expecting. As the side-effect was ending his sense of balance suddenly spiked out as it felt as if he lived two realities, one which was slow and one which was faster. He was about to start falling as his mind oriented itself to the sound of a bullhead, and he was able to stop himself from losing balance. After the side effect ended he blinked and everything around him was bright as if he had not seen anything since the fight. His weapons started slowly vanishing before they abruptly poofed into black smoke. Etherius then turned to Shian who was still close-by and whispered quite strenuously to him "Could you tell Euca and Rei that we'll have an extra off-day from training? This day makes up for it" and before he forgot "On another note, try to refrain from talking to me during the flight. I overused my semblance and need to recover." after saying this he walked to a seat in the bullhead, however, his walk seemed rather sluggish and weak.
  12. @dragon4111 Well... He wouldn't be able to figure it out... I mean, he'd never have seen the metal before, wouldn't know of its effects, he wouldn't be able to actually dismantle it etc. As for the reasons to why these would be, the metal doesn't exist in Remnant, or even in the conceivable universe except for in that armor set. Most of the effects of the material are unknown due to, complications while experimenting. And it is "fused" together, it is like an additional skin for Etherius. And all this... Because it's his very old ancestor who made that material. There's more to it, but, it doesn't really impact how it would work, or how strong it is. So it is irrelevant.
  13. @silvermoon15000@Acnologia@Drago Ryder@dragon4111 The moment the creature died Etherius wanted to say something, however, Shian was faster. Etherius wasn't surprised, he sighed "A leader doesn't necessarily lead from the frontline. However, I do agree that in a small group like this it'd be for the best. The reason as to why I haven't is simple. My weapon, while embarrassingly so, has malfunctioned sometimes. This is due to my own incompetence in its design as the original blueprints are long gone." he calmly noted as he added more to it "Besides, I'll do my best to keep you from harm as I've stated before."
  14. @Drago Ryder@silvermoon15000@dragon4111@Acnologia I feel like I owe you all an apology and an explanation for my sporadic and far in between posting. Simply put, as I've said to Drago within the pm he sent me. My School has been very rough as there have been schedule changes all over the place, I've gotten a pretty bad teacher on a subject so I sit each Thursday for three hours doing nothing, this really drains my energy levels, which are already low normally. Therefore after school whenever I come home I don't really have much energy left to put myself in character as well, which, I feel bad for as it affects you guys. Once again, I'm terribly sorry. And I'd like to say it should resolve itself in the coming weeks, especially with the break I'll get after next week.
  15. @Acnologia@dragon4111@Drago Ryder@silvermoon15000 Etherius' fingers tensed up on the bark of the tree as Shian had first said those words and he looked downward slightly, as to not scare his teammate from his expression right now. As he heard the roar it caught his attention, and hurt his ears quite a bit, but due to his training, he could ignore it. However, as the ursae came he was a bit agitated, he was at first planning to make Shian do most of the work but quickly abandoned the idea as Shian rushed out to fight, he sighed and said "Fine, but we'll sort this through after this." he removed his hands from the tree bark and a fine dust revealed holes in the shape of his fingers in the tree. Etherius rushed forward towards one of the ursae as the air visibly distorted and vibrated before his weapons were summoned. As he drew closer to the Ursae it had begun to swipe at him, Etherius activated his semblance's additional effect of raising his reaction time, increasing it to thrice the normal time. Time started to almost flow in reverse as he did, one second it felt like the ursae was rapidly swiping at him, then the next as if it was as slow as a snail. Etherius was used to these things as he raised his arm aiming the firing mechanism on the beast's head... Then just a moment later a loud sound, as if a watermelon was crushed by a hammer sounded out. Etherius' claws had shattered the ursa's mask and disfigured its head, it had stuck itself on the dead corpse which was slowly starting to vanish. Etherius jumped up and connected the claws fully to the gauntlet again, landed behind where the ursa once stood, the last ursa left standing was still in the middle of running up to them, Etherius, still holding onto the dead ursa swung around with it, throwing the corpse at the final ursa. He then calmly, but, still louder than normal "Shian, you're free to finish it" after he came to it, the beast had crashed into the other one, weighing it down. Etherius then turned off his semblance's effect as he almost felt nauseous enough to throw up.
  16. @Acnologia@dragon4111@Drago Ryder@silvermoon15000 Etherius listened and then narrowed his eyes as Ghalan had left, he looked at Shian and decided not to comment. He looked at the trees around them and wandered a bit before finding the tree he was seeking. Before telling Shian or acknowledging the tree further he turned and said calmly "Listen. I will say these three things only once." he breathed softly before starting "One. I can stop being brutally honest with you if you want, but know this, if you say I should stop. You increase the risk of yourself dying, anybody on our team dying, anyone around you dying, you also increase the risk of humanity perishing, all over you not wanting to feel hurt." he stopped shortly "Two. Since you apparently lack vocabulary knowledge, I'll simplify it for you, to put it in layman's terms that is. I prefer knowing over simply trusting, that is to say, know if you can do it and not die over trusting that you will be able to do it." he took a short pause again leaning on a tree with his hand "Three. We'll be tapping this tree"
  17. Sorry about the late post. Been quite hectic and my brain has always fogged up whenever I had time to write a post.
  18. @Acnologia@dragon4111@Drago Ryder@silvermoon15000 Etherius was about to respond to Shian as Ghalan, who was listening to them up on a tree got before him to say anything. He turned his head to look up at Ghalan "I prefer being sure, rather than simply trusting." he took a breath before continuing "Furthermore, I have to disagree with me being unkind. Isn't it better to tell someone of their potential weakness, rather than trust that they find it themselves? Could be too late once they find out."
  19. @Mickey Adaptus@Star48955@Maple Bat Heathlife was gasping after the sparring, and as the silent and invisible invaders came he was surprised. A common soldier suddenly stood in his way of harm, as well as Princess Luna. Discord had taken Maple, so Heathlife was slightly worried. The worry faded a bit as he felt magical energies calming him. He looked up at the enemies, his eyes glimmered with a green magical light that helped the magical energies that were given by Luna heal him, suddenly these energies seemed to set aflame with black fire that was enveloped in a golden glimmer, this energy shot out like a pulse out of him and entered any allies in the surroundings healing them if damaged. "I'll have to get my staff... Princess Luna, I'll send my replica to get it for me" he whispered to Luna. As he finished whispering his pupils widened and bubbles that seemed as if they were filled with algae started pouring out from his body, these bubbles fell out and floated into a pile of green mass. The green mass then turned into a ball floating in the air as it seemingly imploded on itself and an identical, maybe a bit more handsome version of Heathlife appeared in its stead. This Heathlife immediately started running away from the combat scene towards his room.
  20. @dragon4111@Acnologia@Drago Ryder@silvermoon15000 Etherius had forced Shian to wait until the last pair had left before they went into the forest with their containers "To better explain what I meant before. I don't know if you, or Euca. Would make good decisions pertaining to strategy. I do not look down at your abilities. If I did you would have been forced to train more." he said to clarify what he said earlier.
  21. @Maple Bat@Star48955 He smiled "Maple, you and I both know-" after stopping what he said he faked a left uppercut, which actually led to a sidekick as he spun around the hoof that wasn't in the air "I am not very physical." he finished the sentence and he moved his left hoof so that he could recover his stance if he was counterattacked. (The last part just means he can prevent falling on his back or tumbling etc. Nothing else.)
  22. @silvermoon15000@Drago Ryder@Acnologia@dragon4111 He looked around at all the others as they took their temporary two-man partners from their teams... Then he took a look at the remaining person of his team that had to team up with him "To be honest, the task isn't too dangerous alone... But, I never know when it comes to you. So, sure." he said it without even blinking, kind of a rude comment. But, he isn't half false according to himself as he has seen from their combat potential. He then waited until the rest went into the forest so they could most likely attract most Grimm.
  23. @Star48955@Maple Bat Heathlife made a small bow "Maple, how kind of you. I'll try to measure up. Even though I'm merely an offensive supporter." as he finished he started charging forward, and once close enough he raised his left hoof trying to hit Maple.
  24. @Maple Bat Heathlife sighed "Fine, It doesn't really matter to me. So, sure, the bet's on." he motioned towards the training courtyard "We'll do it in front of everybody, they might learn. So, after you" he said calmly to her.
  25. @dragon4111@Acnologia@silvermoon15000@Drago Ryder Etherius checked his bodily functions, to see if some part of his body had gotten shaken up, luckily they hadn't. He had heard what Glynda said and was interested in what the mission was. However, he also had to thank a certain person...But, before he could that person simply, announced that one of the reptilian faunuses was shedding. He ignored this and since no one had uttered these words he raised his voice "May I ask, on behalf of all of us here, may we get to hear the mission specifics?"
