  1. Seriously? You insulted every single aspect of the cartoon (insulting the actors and animators) and you claim that you aren't trying to be cruel? Why did you even post in this thread then if you weren't trying to be cruel? (a popular show can get cancelled too, you know) I notice that you didn't answer me; Have you seen any of season 3? When was the last time that you actually watched a recent full episode? Plus, WHAT is all this talk about the animation style? What is this "style" you are referring to? MLP's animation is more stylized that Pound Puppies. Pound Puppies IS a good show. It has many of the same aspects that make MLP good; appealing characters, a great voice cast sharp humor sweet storylines
  2. Have you even seen season 3? The show is animated by the same studio that animates My Little Pony, DHX/Studio B. (Don't tell me you didn't know that?) It was only episodes 1-7 of the series that had rough animation. You may not have indeed to sound cruel, but you did, pretty heartless as well. Do you guys really expect me to believe that (as pony fans) you aren't being biased? Anyway, thanks for nothing guys.
  3. This is an important message for all fans of Pound Puppies on The Hub Network; Recently Eric McCormack (the voice of Lucky) tweeted that he thinks that Pound Puppies might be done, but no one has told him anything official. There appears to still be some hope. I am not giving up, and other fans shouldn't either. If you are a fan of this show, if you have been enjoying season 3, PLEASE write letters to Hasbro and tell them that you enjoy the show and want it to continue for a 4th season; Write to; Hasbro Inc. 1027 Newport Avenue Pawtucket, RI 02861 And contact The Hub's "viewer relations" as well; http://corporate.discovery.com/contact/viewer-relations/ So please show your support and write letters to Hasbro, and contact Hub's viewer relations. Volume is the key. And if you know someone who likes the show, please share this info with them. In fact, please share this everywhere. Please everyone, don't just do nothing. Thank you.
  4. For all of you in the United States. I wanted to mention that season 3 of Pound Puppies premieres on the Hub June 1st, at 9:00 am Eastern/6:00 am Pacific. Now, I've said it before, and I'll say it again; The Hub's Pound Puppies is a good solid show, It has appealing characters, a great voice cast, sharp humor, and sweet, touching storylines. I will always stand by that, and I do not care what the haters say. It should also be noted that if some bronies (particularly the adult males) are willing to watch a show with candy-colored ponies targeted at little girls, but are not willing to give Hub's Pound Puppies a shot, then they are being hypocrites. The humor on Pound Puppies is just as good. Particularly thanks to John DiMaggio, who voices Niblet the sheepdog. Every episode of Pound Puppies to date is available on Netflix streaming, just keep something in mind; The first 7 episodes of season 1 have rough, rigid animation, however, episodes 8-present are animated by DHX Media, the same studio that animates MLP: Friendship is magic. So starting with episode 8, the animation for the series is clean, fluid, and smooth. So, if you don't like rough, rigid animation, then I highly suggest that you start with episode 8. So again, Pound Puppies season 3 premieres June 1st on The Hub!
  5. Ah. Gotcha! While we're on the subject, I just have to say that The Hub has lots of great shows, MLP is NOT the only good show on the network. I really love The Hub's Pound Puppies. Its a really great show. Its got great characters, a fantastic voice cast, sharp humor, and sweet, touching story-lines. I will always stand by that. I don't care what any haters say. Every episode to date is now available to watch on Netflix streaming, and season 3 premieres this summer.
  6. I'm not sure I understand. What don't you "get'? It's just a funny episode clip. It's no different than any one of those countless, random MLP meme-like videos. Here is another one; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bD-QtmmiwI
  7. If anyone is interested, a new Pound Puppies DVD is being released next month, May 21, 2013; http://www.amazon.com/Pound-Puppies-Adoption-Eric-McCormack/dp/B00BCMT42U/ref=pd_rhf_gw_p_t_3_FGRX So if you like the show, please support it. Fans of Pound Puppies are starting to use the term pupsters. It was suggested by Yvette Nicole Brown (the voice of Cookie) in an interview last year.
  8. I'm not sure how many bronies here have heard about this, since some bronies seem to have preconceived notions about other Hub shows, therefore, ignore them and don't bother to do research on them, but in season 2 of Pound Puppies, there was a great song called "Barlow" from the episode of the same name. The music was composed by Daniel Ingram, and the song lyrics were by the episode's writer, Alan Hanson. The character of Barlow was voiced by John DiMaggio; Daniel Ingram also composed the music for a sea shanty ("Blow the Dog Down") from the Pound Puppies episode "Salty." (With lyrics by Merriwether Williams) I also assume that most bronies here know that Daniel Ingram and Steffen Andrews compose the background music for Pound Puppies. It's also worth nothing that according to a facebook post, Ingram will compose songs for Pound Puppies season 3; http://www.facebook.com/dannyimusic/posts/498138900233687
  9. It's been a long time since I've posted here, and I don't intend to stay long, but I wanted to highlight something; Here is a fun, short video that a Pound Puppies fan (not me) made. It's from the season 2 episode "There's Something About Camelia." If you like it, please share it.
  10. Its no different than the MLP: FIM toys. Those don't really resemble the animated ponies very well either. Its nothing new. The important thing is that Hasbro has finally come out with merchandise for Pound Puppies. They don't look too bad, really. Besides, toys based on animated characters will always have a bit of distortion. Its important for fans to support the show. (Also, if one buys the toys, they can also visit PoundPuppies.com and download an official Pound Puppies adoption certificate) And also Zatchiel, I really didn't appreciate that meme comment you made at the end. Everyone: Seriously, it saddens me that most of you here just associate Pound Puppies with that meme, thereby, belittling it. Its a good show guys. Its NOT a one-note joke.
  11. Actually, I've made Pound Puppies topics in this forum before, I didn't mention it, and people would still say it. So that's why I decided to address it. Anyway, this topic is intended for people who are fans of The Hub's Pound Puppies, (or perhaps, for people who just like to collect cute looking toys!)
  12. For those who are interested, there now finally toys available for The Hub's Pound Puppies show. Here is a two-page list from Hasbro.com of all of the Pound Puppies toys that are currently available; http://www.hasbro.co...matchallpartial (And PLEASE, be respectful here, do NOT post that stupid meme, if you do, I will report your post. Most people who say that meme don't even watch Pound Puppies anyway. so its very disrespectful.)
  13. I actually think that The Hub's Pound Puppies is a lot better than the original. Personally, I never really cared for the original Pound Puppies from the '80s. I think the Hub's version is a big improvement. I think you meant, 1-7. @Senn555-- Not sure if you knew, but there's good news, these Pound Puppies DVDs are also available in Canada, If you are interested, here are the DVD links from amazon.com Canada; http://www.amazon.ca...46134680&sr=1-2 http://www.amazon.ca...46134755&sr=1-3
  14. ...Also, to add to my previous post, in the season 2 episode of Pound Puppies, "There's Something About Camelia" there is a funny sequence in which some of the dogs (Squirt, Cookie, and Strudel) have to distract a crowd of humans, so they do a "doggy dance" routine with cheesy, nervous grins on their faces set to hokey music. Its a really great comedic moment.
  15. OK, I just want to make one final statement here, Of all of the animated shows on The Hub. I've noticed that Pound Puppies is more like any other show in terms of something that both young and older audiences can enjoy with similar characters and tones. FORGET the Internet Hype. Frankly, if you think that Pound Puppies is not as sophisticated as MLP, you are sadly mistaken. Pound Puppies can be just as self-aware as MLP. In season 2 of Pound Puppies, characters have acknowledged when another character gives a "backstory" and have also acknowledged when a "flashback" is made. And again, Niblet is a lot like Pinkie Pie. (Why else do you think that The Hub has put them together in commercials in the past?) Remember guys, as good as My Little Pony is, it is NOT perfect. NO show is perfect. There will always be some episodes that are better than others, some that are weaker than others, and MLP is no exception. Personally, I feel that season 1 of FiM has some rather weak episodes in comparison to its 2nd season (and some weak season 2 episodes as well.) Same thing with Pound Puppies (again, every show has its highs and lows) For those who don't like what they've seen on Pound Puppies, perhaps you have just not see the "right" episodes, or perhaps not enough episodes. Pound Puppies DOES have humor that both adults and kids can enjoy, (a rather slick, self-aware sense of humor at times) likable characters too, and its plot-lines can be just as sweet as MLP (and MLP has had some very syrupy-sweet stories at that.) What I am really saying is, if you like MLP, and you don't think that Pound Puppies is trying as hard (in regards to the cast, crew, and writers) you are sadly mistaken and are NOT giving the show enough credit, and you are missing out.
  16. For the record, that is the main reason why I was shocked and saddened, initially no explanation was given. I feel its important for one to explain themselves when they state their dislike for a show. Its much more productive that way. Especially on the Internet, when you have nothing to go on except written words.
  17. Actually, yes, that is how a lot of people start to get hooked on shows. I first saw Pound Puppies when my household got a preview of The Hub. I got The Hub in early Feburary of this year (as a way to watch MLP) but Pound Puppies was always there in the "background", and I started watching it more, and I really liked the show. I REALLY starting getting into it shortly after season 2 of MLP ended, and I realized that it deserved some love and attention! I LOVE the fact that John DiMaggio is a voice on the show. (I mean, come on, he is awesome! He's the voice of Bender on Futurama!) And the rest of the voice cast is really great too.(Betty White voices a character!) The voices fit the characters very well. The show definitely has a strong voice cast. Some of them only do voice-over work, but most of them are live-action actors as well. I just find the characters to be fun (and I like the character designs.) I like the humor. (there are funny jokes, and the delivery on some of the lines is great!) For the record, I do still like MLP, but this will probably be one of my last posts on this forum for a while. My main goal right now is to get the word out about Pound Puppies and support it (My Little Pony certainly does not need my help in that department!) And since this forum is mainly for My Little Pony fans, this is not exactly the best place to do it. I didn't start this thread, but I do hope that I have inspired some people here to give the show a fair chance. So Zatchiel, I'll see ya back at our usual hangout! But I will say that I would love to see a Pound Puppies/My Little Pony crossover. Seriously, if MLP is going to have a crossover with any Hub show, it will most likely be Pound Puppies. Both shows are animated by the same studio, so it would be much cheaper for the company to produce. And I know what some are thinking, but I have an idea for how a Puppies/Ponies crossover could work as far as a storyline, but that another story. for another time...
  18. You've got some points there. You know, at this point I don't even care if Pound Puppies doesn't get as much Internet attention as MLP. My efforts here are just about exposing people to it and making sure that its given a fair chance. (By both bronies and non-bronies) I just want make sure it gets exposure now and again. Internet fandom is not necessarily an accurate indication of how popular a show is. What is important is ratings. I have been following news for The Hub, and as I understand it, Pound Puppies has been doing quite well. As mentioned before, season 3 is confirmed, I'm looking forward to it, as well the remaining episodes of season 2 which, (as I write this) should be about 4 more episodes. Now I just wish that the over-eager MLP fans would stop spamming and trolling The Hub's facebook and Youtube pages. Its a little childish.
  19. At the end of the day, Pound Puppies is just a good show that the whole family can enjoy. So is My Little Pony, though I just wish that Pound Puppies would get more fan attention. There are in fact a lot of bronies who also enjoy Pound Puppies. And it should be noted that The Hub's Pound Puppies was recently a winner of the 2012 HUMANITAS Prize for excellence in writing for children’s television for the episode "I Never Barked for My Father" It also won a CINE Golden Eagle Award this year as well. (As did a few other Hub shows; Family Game Night, Transformers PRIME, and R.L. Stine's Haunting Hour.)
  20. Sometimes it can be dangerous when a show caters to its fans too much. Just look what happened with the whole "derpy" thing. It turned into a big mess. First and foremost, MLP should focus on its target audience, and try not to become a "brony show". EDIT: By the way, just because Pound Puppies may not have a "brony vibe", that's not a bad thing. After all, older guys started liking MLP before it became "brony oriented". Pound Puppies is definitely not just for kids, its got jokes that adults can enjoy.
  21. You haven't seen what I've seen. Some folks out there are cruel. But at least Internet buzz isn't everything. In fact, at the end of the day, I'm sure that The Hub and Hasbro realize that. After all, just because a show doesn't get much talk online, doesn't mean that it doesn't get good ratings.
  22. So is "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" Its target audience is little girls. Its worth pointing that out.
  23. Well, it was a knee-jerk reaction. I DID mean that I was sorry to hear that, and I even edited the post to reflect that. "The show has a confirmed third season, with such a small fandom as of present. If it does go off of the air, I'm certain it'll be for reasons other than lack of a monumental fandom. The producers know fans for this show exist, and they are tending as best they can. It's kind of insulting to say that this show won't make it if it doesn't get an influx of attention, when it has come so far over the last two years, and it's still going." That's true, and I am aware that Internet fandom is not everything. still, it would be nice. "That generalization is pretty unfair. You're speaking about those that probably don't even know this show exists. I'm also questioning how you're interpreting someone saying that they don't like the show. That doesn't mean it's garbage, it just doesn't meet a quota they may have, or perhaps it's not something they'd see themselves enjoying. People have that schema about MLP as well, it's rather commonplace. Earlier in this thread, you stated that people shouldn't form expectations for the show before watching it. You've clearly formed an expectation of how bronies --or anyone, for that matter-- should view this show. If someone says that they don't like it, and leave it at that, so should you. If they don't care to explain it, then you have no substance or evidence to cry bias." Bronies probably haven't taken the initiative to watch anything outside of MLP, and they'd need an actual reason. I haven't watched any shows on The Hub besides MLP and Pound Puppies, because I don't have a reason. Perchance, if I may surmise, this thread could be the reason that bronies are even giving Pound Puppies a chance. Becoming aware of the fact that this show actually has a fandom does sprout inquiry." As for "love and tolerance", not only is it not an omni-accepted thing, I also don't see how it applies. I have not made that generalization about ALL bronies. I never once said that ALL bronies are like that. I know that there are good bronies out there. Again, I am a fan of MLP, otherwise I would not be here. Unfortunately, the "bad" ones seem to be more vocal. There are bronies who DO spam and troll. I never once said that I generalized ALL bronies. Also, I was NOT interpreting anything that anyone in this thread said when I made the "garbage" comment. I am speaking from what I have seen in other places on the Internet, The "Love and tolerance" thing, I am just making a reference to the fans on out there who use that mantra, but don't follow it themselves. Regardless of whether or not this is true, it doesn't justify generalization, and it CERTAINLY doesn't warrant taking such conspicuous offense from people saying that they don't like the show. I'm appalled. Again, I am not generalizing. I am aware that not all bronies are bad guys. I never meant to generalize anything. Again, I admit that I made a mistake. I didn't mean it, and I edited the post. I apologize for it. I don't know what else I can say. I realize that I've said some hasty things, again knee-jerk reaction. I apologize to both you and Bronyheart. Now. I just hope that I haven't lost you as a friend. Seriously, I feel bad that this happened, I didn't mean for things to go overboard, and I never meant to offend anyone.
  24. I'm aware that Bronyheart has done nothing wrong, and I wasn't saying that he had, I just find it to be sad and unfortunate. Pound Puppies clearly does have a lack of Internet fandom in comparison to MLP. I like Pound Puppies, plus, In general, I root for the underdog (no pun intended.) There are in fact many bronies out there who will not give the show a chance. Some bronies are in fact, biased. If there are bronies who are also Pound Puppies fans (and I know that there are) then they need to be more vocal! Thankfully, the show is confirmed to be back for a 3rd season, and hopefully there will also be a 4th season. (Pound Puppies had a bit of a late start because of the hiatus after the first 7 episodes aired.) ..To clarify. (I also edited my other post) I understand if a brony doesn't like Pound Puppies as much as MLP, or just thinks the show is "ok", but for a brony to not like the show at all, that is just sad and unfortunate to me. At the end of the day, there are many bronies out there who treat Pound Puppies, (and other Hub shows), unfairly. I mean. I personally don't care for "Care Bears: Welcome to Carealot" but I respect the fact that there are some people who like it. There are many obnoxious bronies out there who attack the show whenever The Hub mentions it on Twitter or facebook (They attack ANY Hub show that isn't MLP, that is what I hate.)
  25. I'm not sure if anyone is even going to care about this, but its worth a shot for the fans who are interested; As some of you may know, there is currently a Pound Puppies DVD available called "Homeward Pound". It includes 5 episodes from season 1, and the bonus feature, "Learn to draw Lucky" And there is another DVD that will be released October 16, 2012, called "Super Secret Pup Club." It will contain episodes from both seasons 1 and 2. Along with the bonus feature, "Learn to draw Rebound" If any fans are interested, here are the U.S. amazon.com links for them; http://www.amazon.co..._bxgy_mov_img_b http://www.amazon.co...ref=pd_sxp_f_pt Remember, purchasing DVDs is a great way to support a show.
