  1. I think the CMC will get their cutie marks this season, too. They've been building up to it long enough, and we've seen them progress in various ways, such as Sweetie Belle learning magic, Applebloom learning potions, and Scootaloo learning how to fix things. I'm not sure the new toy lines really have anything to do with it, but "Cutie Mark Magic" certainly sounds hint-ish. I don't think the CMC would be any less entertaining if they got their marks. I like seeing the characters grow, and we've been following them for a long time now, so I think it would really help build their characters. The whole finding their marks thing has been done to death by this point, and I think it's time they moved on. Personally, I think they'll draw it out over the season with Babs Seed getting her mark first. That will disappoint the other three, until they realize that it might mean they're close to getting their marks, too, and they renew their efforts. But this time, instead of trying all sorts of random junk, they might figure out, perhaps with Babs' help, that they need to focus on the things they already know and like. I'm not sure which one will get their mark next, but I don't think it'll split them apart. If anything, it'll bring them closer and make them try even harder. These three are going to be life long friends, no matter what. I imagine Scootaloo might be the last one to get her mark, though. I figure she probably wants some kind of mark associated with flying, like Rainbow Dash, and so she might still be far from her goal, even after the other two get their marks, because she wants it so bad that she's still looking in the wrong place. In the end, I'd prefer it if she didn't end up flying at all, and learns that her talent is something else entirely, perhaps to do with her scooter. I'd feel terribly sorry for her not being able to fly, but at the same time, it would serve as a great life lesson about disabilities for everyone, teaching that you can't always do what you want, and sometimes have to just make the most of what you can do, instead. I kind of doubt that the show will ever get that deep, though, but I think it would be nice. Scootaloo would have to come to grips with the fact that she'll never be a great flyer like Rainbow Dash, but in helping her learn that, she might just become closer to Fluttershy, who also isn't a great flyer, and discover that being a pegasus isn't always just about flying. Heck! They could even throw Derpy into the mix to help her learn the whole "coping with disabilities" thing. How great would that be?
