  1. Are you sure about the colors, though ? You're going to make a t-shirt out of it, so just want to make sure .
  2. Downfall ? It was also very interesting, particularly in the end, while The Cat Lady was mostly interesting in the beginning. They made a remake recently, I should probably check it out. Pictures are probably against the rules though, but you can still find it on google with "Downfall game". Though don't do it if you are afraid of gore and psychological horror, it's not like those recent games where you are chased by some creepy guy/robot..
  3. @, Well, I tried to show you my point of view upon the topic. If you didn't change you mind, well, that's fine. I don't see how I could add anything else without going farther than my English can handle, so I'm going to end this here. Have a good day.
  4. Then users need to implement it too, towards them. Because you shouldn't attack your neighbours to prove that their army is weak. We should accept more ways of thinking/talking, but when you are considered too aggressive, you should be able to master your emotions and adapt too. It is a false idea, since we don't have access to the "average" part when ideas are not compatible. It is the case here, when you want to make such changes, you need to consider that it will contradicts with another user's ideas. And sometimes, there is no average. "I want his fork and knife, so I can eat properly !" "I want to keep my fork and knife !" "Well, one has the knife and the other has the fork !" Result ? No one is happy, because some ideas can't be reduced to an "average" level. Allowing more agressivity and making slower decisions is one of those ideas. Acceptance of more aggressivity because there are always borderline cases which you don't take into account here. Slower decisions when a user is aggressive to another, leading to longer fights, more users involved, bad moods, more aggressivity. Exponential process. Only because, sometimes, an aggressive post wasn't meant to hurt. EDIT: I don't want to claim that you are wrong, I understand your idea. But it needs to be well-thought, not just "like any human would do", otherwise it's not going to be implemented, because it is much too risky, and probably contradicts a lot of other opinions, and can't be "averaged".
  5. Your mistake is to ask them to follow very strict ideas, and then to ask them to take subjective and contradictory feelings in consideration before acting. Administration and bureaucracy was always about making compromises. We can always improve, but you are only blaming things you'd find anywhere else. We can't be perfect, we have to work around that, not blame ourselves not being perfect. If you expect interesting and efficient changes, don't provide your own personnal opinion, expecting others to take it into account with hundred of other opinions, to make the perfect choice. Instead, think about the overall situation, and your own claimings, so that you can give a clear and efficient idea which might actually be put in place. You claim that some people using aggressiveness in a debate without a bad intent, is enough to justify slowness and even more personal decisions from admins. Though you never talk about the side effects, which might clearly bring a lot of bad stuff, much worse than banning persons with borderline behaviour.
  6. I think you are confusing reasons and purpose. Emotions might have been created to help us survive, that doesn't mean that we hold on to them to do so. They brought more than what they were supposed to. The reason for their existence is survival, their purpose is much more than that. See above. I think you are analysing things waaay too fast. Emotions and the way they work was a philosophical topic for millenia. People spent their life studying them, and they still didn't understand them that well, you can't claim things that easily. However, if you use the past tense in your sentence, I understand what you are talking about, though you are still confusing reasons and purpose. We have grown and evolved through evolution. Though, you can't consider a human like a mere animal. It is a sentient animal. Thus, possessing the ability to think and create its own reasons for its acts, he can alter what he is meant to be, creating purpose when there would only be reasons. Happiness was meant to create continuity in our acts, thus species. Now, acts are meant to bring continuity to our happiness. As such, because we are able to change, alter, destroy, create the original reasons for our acts, the study of ourselves became a whole universe in itself. And nobody will ever grasp the vastness and finesse of this universe in one lifetime. Pretending it is good or bad is but an opinion, and no one will ever know the answer. Because of that, we can't conclude upon things like emotions. We are limited in time, space and thinking, we can't answer that ourselves. Thus, I accept your way of reasoning, since I am not able to conclude about it myself, but I hope to bring a new point of view to your thoughts, so that you may access more information, and make an opinion you wouldn't regret later.
  7. Perhaps. Though emotions are more than social skills. Without them, Art and Science would be very far from what they are now. They are a part of us, they participate in pretty much everything we do. Removing them is like removing one of your senses. Sure, it won't alter your choice anymore, and you will be more focused on the other 4, but you still lose a part of yourself. Whether it is good or not depend on each individual. Removing the bad does not always bring the good, working on your emotions and making the best our of them would probably be a better (and safer) option. I don't know if this is going to happen or not, though. Probably.
  8. You don't have answers, you are stuck because you don't project things. We are not living machines, we are sentient beings. Money is wrong to you because you absurdly focus on it for everything. We are more than what money makes of us. Our work is more than a mean to get money. If you actually left this way of thinking, and opened yourself to more absactive concepts, you'd understand. Money is nothing but abstractive ideas brought to life in one concrete body. It was always here. Criticizing it, and blaming it for our society issues is like blaming the brain for creating sad thoughts. It's missing the point. It is you, and you only, that can elevate yourself high enough to see that. Work has always been more than the outcome it generates, or the people it benefits. Every concept which is so deeply linked to us prevails over money. But it takes work to see through concrete things of our everyday life. But as long as you don't want to open the road and move on, you will be stuck. I wish to give you answers, to call out from the other side of the road so that you might understand that there is more behind it. But you are the only one that can open the way.
  9. The best way to find answers is to ask the right questions. When it begins with a "why", it's often a lost cause. You know this joke kids make to their parents ? "Why A ? -Because B. Why B ? -Because C. Why C ? -Well..". Anyway, don't feel worried about all of that. Understanding and accepting yourself is already a lot. Many would put that aside and live their lives in hypocrisy. What's next is up to you, it is a long way to go, but as long as you don't walk backwards, you will always find more answers. The questions often outnumber them, but they shouldn't be walls or holes on your road. They should only be a reason to keep moving, to find answers, as other questions are unveiled, assuring the continuity of the process. Don't focus on the final objective, focus on your every thought and movement, for the only thing you will ever possess at the end of the road, is the memory of your journey, and what's left of yourself.
  10. I hope you can find your way through this world. If you need help or answers, you can always PM me.
  11. I don't know, I like sombra ! His pure evil intentions are an interesting part of the character. You didn't mention what makes you like him though, what is it ?
  12. I have something on the topic which you might consider interesting. Few sentences are not 100% on the topic, but it's mostly about pride : a study about the way it works. Quote from David Hume in "Dissertation on the Passions" : (from Section II, part 7 to 11) : http://rci.rutgers.edu/~tripmcc/phil/hume-fourdissertations.pdf(starting at page 24) (What I quoted is from here, but not practical : http://www.davidhume.org/texts/fd.html ) Part 11 is probably the most related to the topic, if you don't want to read the whole thing.
  13. You are considering things from a different point of view, I am not contradicting what you state here ^. My point isn't about "how their actions affect me", but "how their actions affect themselves". For example : someone is drunk and wants to get home with his car. What I am saying is, it is your role to stop him, even though you have no right towards him. What you are saying is, everyone is free to make his own opinions and choices, if that makes you feel bad to see him do that, ignore it. I consider the drunk one, you consider yourself. I know this doesn't reflect the reality, because I'm sure you wouldn't do that, what I mean is, we are considering things from two different angles, and it makes no sense do discuss in that situation, because we might agree while claiming opposite ideas. Criticizing when you can't impact what you criticize is useless in its nature if you don't find a form of happiness in doing so (hate, etc..). For example : You go to a forest with a friend, and during the whole thing, he is criticizing the trees, how bad they are spread, how bad the leaves look.. What do you do ? He is free to have an opinion and criticize. Even if Nature won't ever listen, even if you don't want to hear it, even if it doesn't make him feel better. But what's better ? Follow this idea and let him waste an occasion to feel happy, just because he has the right to have an opinion, or showing him that it's going nowhere and how much better he could feel if he if spent that time enjoying things rather than feeling bad over nothing ?
  14. It is beautiful, good job !
  15. Yes, but what's the point of criticizing for the sake of it ? If you are not able to change things, or even listened by the writers, it isn't constructive. If that makes you feel better, why not ? But when it's just attacking continuously a character when you dislike its choices, over and over, you are just making yourself feel bad over nothing. And no, there is no "deal with it". Even freedom has its limits. When someone is hurting himself, you can't just say "whatever" and leave; it is everyone's role to help him and show him a better way to consider the issue, even though he is free to criticize every single thing in the world.
  16. @@Nightmare Muffin, That'd be so funny if politics worked like that. Hey man, can you sit here and answer phone calls for like, 15 minutes ? I'm going to pick up my kids from school. Thanks. *15 minutes later* You know what ? I heard you were managing a library, so I've made some phonecalls. You are now the president ! Bye !
  17. @@Cleverclover, I understand your thinking, but.. How can I explain that.. You see, life is harsh sometimes, and some would argue that it's getting worse and worse. But I don't feel sad about it, so, how can we explain that ? Some will mostly see what's nice, some will mostly see what's bad. It's just a matter of focus. We all live the same things, but some want to feel the good more than the bad. I can't blame them, and as long as it's just a matter of opinion, why focus on what makes you depressed, when you can focus on what makes you happy ? You could argue that it's important to talk about the bad as much as the good, and you would be right ! But when it's only an opinion which can do nothing but to influence others, why not spread the happiness rather than the sad thoughts ?
  18. Because someone has got to do the administrative work and diplomacy, and she probably is the most capable of them four for that(Luna wasn't here for a long time, Twilight is still learning and Cadence has an empire to manage). Also, let's not forget that she is praised by every citizen across Equestria. Leaving the throne for someone else would bring disorder and cause more bad things than it would solve.
  19. Complaining about a show meant to be happy and colorful. Complaining about people ruining their experience by over-analyzing what's meant to be a nice and calm show. It's different. I don't really want to explain further, I think you get my point. Don't judge the act as themselves, judge the thought behind it. He isn't whining. He's depressed that some people are missing out on the opportunity to have a good time.
  20. Well, I think people often try to categorize things too much. Let's try to find a broad yet efficient definition : If you put enough creativity, imagination, will,.. In something, you are working. If your work affects someone or even yourself through thoughts or feelings, we can consider it's art. Of course, we could find something more precise, but it holds the main idea : Anything can be art, but everything isn't art. What matters is how we interact with it. You can't really say "this is art" as long as it concerns a wide range of things, since we may interact differently, or not at all, with the things it covers. Also, as a last note, merit doesn't come from being an artform only. A man's work deserves as much merit as a piece of art. Don't worry if you feel like your work isn't considered as an artform .
  21. Who cares honestly. If you want to take toys and plushies in public, do it. Who can blame you, adults ? Who is mature enough to pretend to be an adult nowadays ?
  22. I'd be okay with that. I don't mind people making references to their religion with MLP. I mean, everyone see the show through their own eyes, why coudn't they ? Though, the way you are asking this is a little.. forced. I know people don't do manipulation on purpose, but you are shutting down any opinion that's against yours here, while asking people if they are ready to accept others' point of view. -> Do you like apples ? Or are you one of those horrible persons that would reject such a GOOD and NUTRITIOUS fruit which is SO important yo yourself and the poor POOR people selling it, begging for someone to buy their delicious fruits in order to survive ?
  23. Meeeeh, I wish I had more time. I have seen your topics, I'd gladly draw something for you, but I have still some stressful weeks ahead of me. If you are still looking for someone by then (~28 June), pm me, in case I forget. Good luck until then !
