  1. Today, not on this website, somepony told me my OC "sucks." A few chimed in that they agreed. What is with OC bashing?

Well im just spitballing here, as I know next to nothing about the sonic fandom or the whole OC business (sonic or MLP). But maybe its a deal where all they see is a recolor of a thing? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXsSgzKJ0fY But yea, one thing i do get ... is that an OC takes a superton of effort to get just right, you know? ... I have no idea what my point was anymore.

      I think people forget the definition of an OC......;-;

  2. Taking a school break. Desk is cluttered with papers and books for writing a paper. What is everypony up to?

I'm really happy that being apart of this community has led you to grow personally. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
  4. What critters give you the willies? (For example, snakes freak me out) What do you feel are your greatest strengths as a friend? What food don't you like? If you could meet anyone from the past who would it be and why? If you saw God, what would you ask him? Do you really wear glasses? Do you have any pets?
  5. I don't know much about Organ music but that was awesome to me. It did exactly what music is supposed to do (or at least what I think music is supposed to do), make you feel things and see images that would accompany the music. Awesome. Just awesome.
  6. "cranky doodle donkey" lol. Pinkie Pie you are so awesome.

  7. I need to stop posting on the boards so late in the evening (or I guess you could say early in the morning). I get waaayy to chatty and off topic. I guess I'm a really extroverted pony - online at least.

  8. Hi Neselite and welcome to the herd! Everyone is pretty friendly around here and there are lots of fun conversations to be had. I just role played as a cat the other night, my first time ever, and it was pretty fun. Jump right in and I'm sure you will find a place that fits you. You majored in English, I majored in Art ... um, yeah. Anywhos feel free to message me sometime.

    Hiya!

Hello Ironbyte and welcome to the herd I hope you find some great people here. So far, the ones I have chatted with seem pretty friendly and supportive. Feel free to message me
  10. Nice to meet you MintyTwist and welcome to the herd. I just joined this week and everyone seems to be pretty accepting. G1 was also a big part of my childhood as well
  11. Eminem is awesome, I applaud your music tastes and the fact that you opened with a bit of humor. (Feel free to groan but I like puns. No, I love puns.) Have fun on the forums!

Hi Marigo! How cool, I just checked out your blog (link listed on your profile page) and really like the idea of the mlp community inputing on where your story goes. Pretty sweet. Welcome to the forums!
  13. Welcome Pinkiepie4thewin! Everyone is really nice here (at least that has been my experience since I joined this week) so perhaps you won't feel shy after a bit of time has passed. I saw that you said you are a musician - what type of instruments/music do you like to play? I think that is pretty cool that you want to do an album of songs for Bronies. Are you looking for people to collaborate with? I'm tone deaf and couldn't help you but mlpforums seems to have a great place for artists to connect. hmm.. after this post I'm thinking maybe I should change my screen name to "chatty pony"
  14. "Barefoot." It was a cute but extremely cliche romantic comedy. My bf and I had tried to watch "Jay and Silent Bob's Super Groovy Cartoon Movie" but that just wasn't happening for us.
  15. I appreciate all different types of fans. I think the world, and the convention, would be a dull place if some people weren't a bit more "over the top." Are you planning to go to another Brony event in the near future?
  16. I made it to "muffin"!

Actually, I'm writing about Bronies. Well hopefully. It really depends on whether any Bronies come forth and agree to be interviewed. Got a fancy website set up and everything for them to read about the study and how to participate. I put a link on my "about me intro post" but the moderators had to take it down till they verify I and my study are legit. (No hard feelings though.) Hopefully the approval process doesn't take more then a few weeks. I posted the link to my website...

Sounds really interesting, I would interview :)

Awesome. :) I'll pm you with more info and some general questions. Or you can contact me through the website and we can correspond via email. Whichever you prefer.

  17. Me too! I'm a big fan of Dr. Who but I haven't watched since the 11th Dr. is no longer around.
  18. Sure I had the name issue thing too. My is very unoriginal - first initial and last name.
  19. Hello Everypony, I'm pretty excited, I just purchased my ticket for BronyCon 2015 in Maryland. This is going to be my first fan convention ever. I wanted to go to Comic-Con when I lived in San Diego but that didn't happen. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions? Things to expect that surprised you when you first went?
  20. Welcome Galahad (nice choice for a screen name btw ). Hope you have some fun and meet some friends in the mlpforums. I'm new to the show and community as well.
  21. All great advice above. I'm much more comfortable sculpting things with my hands than laying lines on paper. But, since I've been drawing a bit lately I've also have some advice. Remember that each person has their own style and approach to creating their work. There isn't one answer that fits everyone and every approach. The best way is to try lots of methods and figure out what works for you not only technique wise but what appeals to you visually. Learn from other people's techniques but try not to compare yourself to others. With time you will develop your own style. Happy Drawing! P.S. In case you were considering different pen brands, I use Pentel Hybrid Technica pens, Faber-Castell artist pens, and Pigma Micron archival ink pens. I find pigma to be the best for what I do, which is mostly line drawing.
  22. So my boyfriend used to drink huge glasses of earl grey tea in the morning, but that didn't keep him awake enough. Now he drinks about four cups of coffee in the morning - with sugar and cream. I think there are health risks when consuming too much of one thing. For me I can't drink things high in caffeine because it makes my heart feel all fluttery and keeps me awake to the wee hours of the morning. Some people can get out of bed and go about their day without having a caffeinated beverage and some can't - or I guess choose not to. Maybe whether or not you choose to drink coffee to wake up has something to do with how well you sleep at night? Or maybe you just like the taste? Though I haven't met many people who like their coffee black.
  23. Twilight Sparkle and Pinkie Pie are two of my favorite characters. When I first started watching the show a few months ago I was struck by how much I identified with her. She was so studious and didn't see the value of friendship while engrossed in her studies. I was sort of the same way in my college years - plus I was sort of shy. I love how each pony is so well rounded personality wise - I think that is why they can be so relatable. I recently watched the episode in season 2 in which Twilight had a meltdown because she couldn't find a problem amongst her friends to fix in order to write her "today I learned" letter to Princess Celestia so she enchanted her stuffed animal and made a problem. What a good episode, also the first episode in which I really started to notice how great the animators are at using the eyes to express feeling.
  24. Thanks Generosity! Pinkie Pie is one of my favorite characters because she makes me laugh so much. Though I feel like Twilight Sparkle sometimes because she can be such a studious pony. Thank you Miss ooBrony! And thank you to everypony for the warm welcome. It is much appreciated.
  25. Greetings Everypony, I am a new fan of MLP: FiM. In addition, I am a graduate student in the college of Journalism and Communication at the University of Florida. When not watching the show I am working on my thesis, "The Brony Culture Study." Perhaps you can help a mare out? I am looking to interview adult male fans who identify as Bronies as part of my thesis research. If you would like to participate you will be asked a series of semi-structured questions (questions may vary based on your response) regarding your interest in the show, your participation in the community, and how open you are to sharing your interest in the show with others. Interviews will be conducted in person or via Skype. Please be aware that if you click on the link to the study through this post on mlpforums.com, the website may be gathering information about the links you access. Check the website’s privacy policy if this is a concern for you. All the best, Jessica Marsh
