Just a PSA to folks posting currently: please be mindful of the language you use. We don't want to involuntarily oust anyone here who might feel one way or another about, well, anything honestly. Height is a factor of physical attraction for some, not for others, and then there are of course the folks whom physical attraction is non-applicable. There's also the matter of social norms / perceptions and the opposite: folks who find it odd that people would have a problem with something that goes against the norm. This thread is just to collect input on where each member stands about the subject, not their thoughts about others' views.

general Do you enjoy being tickled?
Vertigo-01 replied to Silver Herald's topic in General Discussion
I laugh, like really hard. But I don't ultimately like it. It's just one of those weird involuntary things, I guess. -
Last time you regularly used Internet Explorer?
Vertigo-01 replied to FirePuppy's topic in General Discussion
1996, when I switched to Netscape Navigator, then later to Opera, then Firefox, Safari, and eventually Chrome. -
Let's brush off the dust from this one and see if we can get any new stats.

How long did it take you to feel at ease during your first con?
Vertigo-01 replied to ggg-2's topic in Sugarcube Corner
I'm an extrovert, so I may not be a good example here. But the first con I went to, I was feeling comfortable within the first hour of arriving the day before events began, and was already engaging in conversation by the following morning. Didn't seem to really bother me, though I was leery of certain con-goers – usually the ones too eager to start (and continue) in rambling conversation, and those who seemed interested in making money outside the merchant hall. -
This is, like, fantasy level difference for me. With that kind of distance, either I would end up being turned off, or I'd never be turned off again. But since my initial posting, I'm dating someone who's actually around four or five inches shorter than me -- which is about standard for previous partners. I'm totes fine with it, but I get all kinds of bubbly when she puts on the heels.

The option refers to your sex, not your partner's. Sorry for the confusion!

food Lunchables. Do you still eat them?
Vertigo-01 replied to ManaMinori's topic in General Discussion
Used to all the time from '95-'02, then picked them up again for a bit with some friends just before college in '09. Loved those things! -
general Do you plan on getting married?
Vertigo-01 replied to Member Berry's topic in General Discussion
Oh yeah, would definitely get married. I'm all for committing to a lifelong partnership with someone. Did it once, made mistakes, lost my partner to another, and they weren't interested in reconciliation. Stayed faithful to the vows for a while, until the divorce came to pass. I only hope I can give it another shot again one day. -
When did you stop believing in Santa?
Vertigo-01 replied to Spikey-Wikey's topic in General Discussion
I believe I was either 7 or 8. Can't remember what the catalyst was though. -
Stupid things you believed when you were younger
Vertigo-01 replied to Fishy Stick's topic in General Discussion
I believed in 1999 that when the year rolled over into 2000, all the buildings in the big cities of the world would transform into futuristic skyscrapers, and cars would be able to fly. -
Closed. Privacy and noise suppression, since I have a roommate.

general When do you start listening to Christmas music?
Vertigo-01 replied to gamecubeguy214's topic in General Discussion
Around the end of November, post-Thanksgiving. Everyone knows it's getting that time of the year when the Final Fantasy XIII soundtrack starts playing around the house. Our little tradition. -
I had a dream last night where daylight was an eternal sunset, all my university's classes were outdoors, and one of them had a test on Sailor Moon history.

The last week of January 2015, I had an old friend over to my house, and she introduced me to FiM. We watched the S1 premiere episodes and maybe the next one or two after that, then she went back home. Not a day later, I fell sick with a cold and was soon stuck in bed, for the most part at least. So on a whim, and with nothing better to do, I decided to watch some more FiM on my own. So very glad I did.

Calmly and silently when by myself. Dramatically when in a crowd. Totally backwards of the way it should be. I think it's the scene kid still left in me or something.

No way. I get annoyed enough as it is when friends sing around me. And they know, so they exploit it.

mega thread What is your sexuality ?
Vertigo-01 replied to DashingRainbow36's topic in General Discussion
Straight. I'm often more attracted to guys' personalities than women's, but that's due to the culture where I live. Sexism amongst women in my area is fairly prevalent; many uphold the male figure in the traditional light, that they should adhere to a certain image of yesteryear manliness. Being attracted to that is fine and well, but believing guys should be that way just gets my hackles up. And I can testify by the scruff of my scruffy butt fur that I'm definitely not macho. -
general What are you doing for Thanksgiving ?
Vertigo-01 replied to OLD ACCOUNT's topic in General Discussion
I'll be celebrating a tradition that started up in 2012 between me and the family of one of my friends: feasting on a traditional turkey dinner, to be followed up with a gargantuan peanut butter pie. It's the one time out of the year this 135lb loser takes in more calories in one sitting than in a typical day. -
Love night walks, even in metropolitan areas. Don't get me wrong, in urban places I almost always walk with others. But out in rural places, not so much. I've traveled a bit in the past few years, currently live in a small metropolis, and have elderly parents who live in the country, so I try to take whatever opportunities to walk whenever I can and see the sights. I'm not sure which I love the most: a night sky full of stars, or an illuminated skyline. The former is gorgeous, and the latter is nostalgic.
