  1. My "favorite" car would be an R33 Skyline, just like most other fanboys. Buuuut, my favorite practical car is one I owned in the past: the Honda del Sol. I just loved the targa top look. 90's swag at its finest:
  2. Just a Google search for MLP Forums. And thanks to everyone for the warm welcome, glad to be here!
  3. Hard cider? Angry Orchard's Cinnful Apple... when it's in season. Non-alcoholic? Honestly, I've never had any that I really like, though I hear there's a wide variety of brews. Would love to give some quality cider a shot one day.
  4. Which is your favorite Sonic game? - Split between Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic '06, probably because I feel like we've been without a really heavy storyline for such a long time now. Who's your favorite Sonic character? - Tails. Has been since '96 and always will be. Which was your favorite Sonic cartoon? - Sonic the Hedgehog, the SatAM one. Sooo gritty... miss that show. Thoughts on Sonic Boom? - Oh yeah, Sonic CD was awesome! That theme song was the absolute bes-- oh wait... you mean, that new fangled thing... [No comment] Who's your favorite Voice Actor for Sonic? - Is it sad that thus far, Jaleel White is the only one I've really liked? That's probably just because I still associate with the old cartoon and OVA than I do with the game series. Who is your least favorite Sonic Character? - Rouge. Not because of her character traits, I just never liked her design much. When did you become a Sonic fan / What was your first Sonic game? - At the age of 6 when I played Sonic on the Sega Genesis for the first time.
  5. About fifteen hours. It's a simple vector, but again, it was my first time making anything either not based off a base or pony generator, so the time it took me is probably far greater than it would for most others.
  6. Homework. I'm like a professional student. If I could do this Master's student thing forever and be a bum, I totes would.
  7. This was my first attempt at creating a vector without a base, so her body doesn't match up with the typical structure of an MLP pony. But, she's half robot, so who cares! Inspired by impractically long Scene Kid hair from yesteryear and all things related to shiny, happy biomechanics. Let me know your likes / dislikes below. I don't see a whole lot of mechanized ponies around, so if you know of some others, feel free to share or refer to them!
  8. The MLP fandom seems to have flourished very well in a short amount of time, not so dissimilar to how Harry Potter had a little over a decade ago. Now that the series and books are officially finished, the fandom still carries on strong. I'm not saying I believe the MLP fandom will be as strong, but I would be surprised if it ever completely fizzled out. Twenty years? Too hard to tell at the rate technology is advancing. Ten years? Chyea, I think it'll still have some life left in it.
  9. After the attack on Fimfiction today, I talked with a friend of mine who doesn't like MLP, but has never voiced an actual issue with it. I was surprised after talking with her that she did, in fact, have an issue -- and it was based off of the community. Unfortunately, there are a lot of self-proclaimed bronies and MLP fans at-large who post slipshod material, usually of a very raunchy nature, on feeds like Tumblr and etc. Feeds like that tend to get a lot more attention and notoriety than do others -- not just because they're risqué and against the norm, but also because it flourishes. MLP "porn", as it would be, pervades the interwebz something fierce. At least to someone standing outside of the fandom. People like those here on the forum I would assume are much more versed in the fandom's true nature, and just like with any other fandom, the gambit of straight-laced fans to the other extreme stretches far and wide. This has been the case with anime for decades now, and it only seems to be thanks to the passing of time that people (namely in the U.S.) don't adopt quite as staunch of a negative view toward those who play around with NSFW anime, manga, and related artwork. Like others have voiced, I feel as if "anti-bronies" are often scared or sickened by the pony nature of the fandom, especially since they're not exactly anthropomorphic, retaining the basic form of a pony in animation (versus anthro's like Sonic, who stands on two legs and is far more humanized in form). But my friend made it clear that her issue wasn't with that so much as it was with the prolific nature of the material many fans share online. The discomfort for her didn't lie so much in the fact that it was related to ponies as it was that from the outside looking in, it seems like "most" fans, as she worded it, are only interested in clopping. There's a lot of angles the debate can be viewed from. I only felt bad that her repulsion was due in part to what she identified as the fandom at large.
  10. Sorry 'bout that! This is the part where I just need to wait until tomorrow before checking any sites like I promised myself I would. Glad to hear it's been confirmed that it's just a DDOS attack. Definitely a huge relief.
  11. I'm worried you've got a point. EQD went down several minutes ago on my end. isitdownrightnow.com is showing it's still up and accessible, but even though my computer is reaching the server, no response is coming back.
  12. I told myself earlier today "Hey! Great opportunity to take care of some homework!" ... Then I ended up here. It'll get done eventually. I think.
  13. Sitting on my hands until tomorrow is probably the hardest part, but I know it's worth it. I can only imagine the number of peeps trying to flood onto the site at this moment.

    adventure Nighttide Star

This is a bit of a fruitless endeavor since at the time of writing this, Fimfiction is recovering from the cyber attack. But might as well post this here for others to check out when it's back up and running. Feedback always welcome, especially since this is my first endeavor at fan fiction and a test-bed for a more serious piece I'm currently working on. Be sure to leave some love and tolerance if you dig her, though. *ahem* "Nighttide Star, born under the moon of Balcora in a foreign land, is adopted by the Daedalus Institute of Research and Exploration, or DIRE, when her parents are killed in an earthquake. Raised under the company's Labyrinth project, she is hoof-picked for a leading - and as of yet untitled - role for the government. Branded with the serial number LAB-1032, she is all but pure machinery by the age of 18. "While running an experiment on a prototype warp drive, Nighttide Star is lost to the ether and wakes up to find herself in Equestria. As she explores the new land in a search for a way back home, she will come to question much of what she has learned under DIRE’s influence." https://www.fimfiction.net/story/253727/nighttide-star
  15. It feels like MLP songs have been gradually becoming more lack-luster over the seasons. That may just be my take on it, but the song in this episode felt very forced / rushed. I do like that they paid homage to the library. That was a very cool touch they installed at the end in the castle. But otherwise, the episode felt a little dull around the edges. It just seems like a bit more could have been done with the time allotted... Although we all now have a new mane style to play around with Twilight.
  16. I'm in agreement with the majority, I believe Starlight will have to make another appearance, either as a recurring villain or as a major return at the end of the season -- which, if they do the latter, would be pretty cool. I'd love to see the lengths Starlight would go to accomplish her ultimate goal.
  17. Looking good. That was fairly quick. EDIT: Well, correct that. Some things are still throwing up 500 Internal Errors, but it seems to be getting better by the minute.
  18. I'm still stuck in the 90s for the most part, apparently. Top 5 of all time: 1) Descent II 2) Freespace II 3) Homeworld 4) Rollercoaster Tycoon 5) SimCity 3000 Unlimited Of course those were all PC games. These days, I play mostly console or 3DS games. Been really into FFXIII, Xenosaga, and Persona here for the past year or so.
  19. My Favourite Mane 6 Pony: Rainbow Dash How did you find MLP Forums?: Google Search. How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: Through a friend. 'Sup everyone, My name is Lucas. I'm a rookie fan-fiction writer over at fimfiction.net, a very rookie vector artist on Deviant, and of course, a fan of MLP:FiM at large. I'm actually a pretty recent fan, only having been introduced to the show back in mid-January of this year. Since then, I've dove into the fandom unlike any before... Honestly, this is my first time partaking in anything identified as a "fandom". MLP sparked a desire in me to pick up writing for the first time since I graduated from undergrad, as well as to try my hand at vector art since way back when Inuyasha was a thing. Forrealz. Anyway, just wanted to give a shout out here and meet the faces of the MLP Forum community.
  20. I actually just joined this forum because of this attack. I got online this morning in an attempt to update my story and found the site down. I only heard about the attack through a comment back at EQD on an unrelated post, which referred me to the news post at HN. My two cents at this point is in the face of an attack like this, we need to be careful not to return hate for hate. Like feeding fuel to the fire, each side is just going to elicit more problems for the other. If they want to call "war" out on something that has no real merit, let them. For the moment, this is an isolated incident that hopefully won't have any major repercussions. But I feel as if the MLP community doesn't need to take it sitting down either; hate movements like this need to be advertised and made clear across the community, internal and abroad. Thankfully, the world at large does not feed on the hatred of small groups like these. "Hate groups" are labeled as such for a reason; there's no place for hatred in the lives of the healthy. Their actions, as others, will not go unnoticed. I'm just hoping "we" (meaning anyone who openly identifies themselves as a fan, brony, etc.) doesn't give ourselves a bad name in the process by trying to retaliate.
