Can Transhumanism and My Little Pony fandom fit together?
Microghost replied to Microghost's topic in Sugarcube Corner
People shouldn't be forced into these technologies. The other people who wants the technologies shouldn't be criminalized for seeking it. Cognitive Liberty can help so that those who wants to get upgraded can do it without irrational government restrictions while those who want to stay the way they are can go on with their lives without institutions budding in to force the technologies. There's also rlthe grey area where some regular people would want aome technologies but not others and some transhumanists who wants ome technologies but not others. I would personally like the better living through chemistry and better health with healthy food and excercise and the cure for unpreventable diseases like cancer or dementia. I would be ok with a way to become near indestructable as well. Maybe become a cyborg. What I wouldn't want is to have food that had genotoxic(toxic to genes and cause harmful or fatal mutations) in it or to get a brain chip implant when the brain can be unlocked with the right food and supplements and the growing number of nootropics to allow the brain's ability for exponential learning. Also, since 2C-D at low doses is claimed to have memory enhancing effects, maybe modified molecules can increase the nootropics range or something. There's sunifiram, but it's also pretty new. Brain chips would both likely to be used for tracking people's thoughts against their will and there's the possibility of the chip short circuiting and causing moderate to significant degrees of brain damage. Plus, brain chips may cost thousands and even millions of dollars while nootropics(vitamins, supplements, natural plants, synthetic ones, odd nootropics) have already existed for a while and are cheaper, and they can't scan your thoughts with nootropics. Though the technology would still exist and have fierce competition from chemists and scientists if chemistry had much less restrictions by governments saying "oh no. That stuff can permanently enhance creativity or problem solving skils in regular people. The other stuff can reduce people's excessive anxiety safety. That cuts into the money pile from our companies so you can't do that". By the time they even have brain chips, NZT would likely have already existed, though maybe just an Einstein IQ and not the stereotypical 4 digit IQ. Also, since society often discourages extreme critical thinking and sweep the history of transhumanism under the rug and to the back of the internet, then fiction often prevail as the best evidence for such an ideology. There's still some of the developing technology, but it's still too new for some parts of it. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2766678/Rise-Terminator-Scientists-create-shape-shifting-liquid-metal-used-heal-human-body.html -
Can Transhumanism and My Little Pony fandom fit together?

Having superpowers like superspeed, superintelligence, near indestructability, having a superhuman sense of comedy, and time freezing abilities would be cool. But that's mostly in comic books. The more likely scenarios are either an iron man suit or becoming a cyborg. As for superintelligence, that's most likely to come out of laboratories as a safe version of NZT and neurogenesis compounds since the chemists already have a head start and are making exponentially greater strides. A watch computer with internet and some type of memo pad with a customizable schedule would also be a cool technology in the future. Also, Twilight is awesome! -

While I believe in transhumanism, I also believe in cognitive liberty, neurodiversity, and a reasonable degree of economic socialism. I believe people should have access to these technologies, but I also believe people should choose what technologies they want, what technology they don't want, and other stuff. I hope friendship is optimal is optional, and being a pony is optional. I don't want to turn into a pony. I will miss having opposable thumbs. -
This is awesome!

I enjoyed the movie Limitless. It jas a few scenes with violence, but not that many. It's a good movie overall. If you imagine that NZT most stands for confidence, then it's pretty inspiring. NZT-48 is a fictional confidence booster and cognitive enhancer drug with side effects. There's hints at an improved version of the smart drug without side effects. You can give the movie Limitless a chance if you want, and even skip the violent scenes if they're too much for you. It's mostly PG 13 stuff in the movie I think. If only NZT without side effects were real.

My Life as a Teenage Robot, music, movies, and the cuteness and awesome My Little Pony, and low dose benzodiazepines(for anxiety and panic attacks) is what helps now. If only society weren't so cruel.

I understand you ooBrony. Some people don't like violence. Some people can only tolerate certain amounts of violence and only in certain forms. Life was especially tough for me growing up in a bad neighborhood. School was pretty bad too. Only friends and going to the gym or science class made it beareble. Sometimes I just want to erase the pain of the past, forever and ever. The stuff I went through emotionally in the past gave me PTSD.

Would you die a little bit on the inside if....
Microghost replied to Trine's topic in Sugarcube Corner
I think it would be better if pokemon and My Little Pony did a crossover. And maybe Dragonball Z. Gardevoir! I choose you! *gardevoir Rarity! I choose you! *What am I doing in a pokeball? Trixie! I choose you! *I am the great and powerful Trixie! Vegeta! What's the power level of Trixie the pony? Vegeta: It's OVER NINE THOUSAND!!! What! 9,000?! There's no way that could be possible! -

Trixie had a rough past. Trixie is just narcissistic and in denial about needing friends. She uses her magic and bragging to seem better so that she would impress other ponies. Trixie may have had a terrible past of being picked on and then believes being herself isn't good enough or ever will be good enough. She's insecure, but needs friends, advice on humility, and help. Humiliating her will only make it worse. Trixie may have come from a rough neighborhood and the other ponies grew up in a nice neighborhood. Trixie needs love, not being sent back to the rough neighborhood. Trixie only brags to hide her inner pain and suffering. Trixie: They have no idea how it's like to grow up in a bad neighborhood and being picked on. If I tell them, they might hate me just because where I come from. Trixie represents the great potential in us that go wasted because of being semi-poor or poor and growing in bad neighborhoods. I'm sure Trixie will have become a great and powerful magician if she could afford the classes and magic equipment. She's disadvantaged because of the lack of wealth and it's one of those things that ponies in the show and a few people in real life think will magically go away when you ignore it. I hate to think that Trixie would end up in a dark place because no one accepts her. I accept Trixie. Sure, she needs to stop bragging excessively, but Trixie is a survivor. She remains semi skillful against all odds. Trixie, you are not alone. I will hug you and be your friend. Trixie needs a fair second chance and help moving out of her rough neighborhood and into Equestria.

In every forum in the cyber world not having anything to do with ponies, the phrase "mods are asleep" is always followed by "post ponies". Mods realized this and invented hydrafinil(fluorenol). Now mods are never asleep again. Legend has it that mods now stay up for up to 40 hours at a time without losing brain function. Then they have one or two normal mod cover while the 40 hour mod sleeps for 24 hours. Leaving just a tiny 5 minute windows of time where all mods are all sleeping simultaneously for 5 measly minutes every three days. It's ao efficient, it's scary. http://imgur.com/S675EK9

Which pony do you wish you could hug?
Microghost replied to DoctorWhovian1902's topic in Sugarcube Corner
I would hug all the ponies. Though my number one choice would be Twilight Sparkle. Cynder is cute too and I want to hug her. https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSzqkqMd33RMvc2S8RzDXRiVdDrMovsrPEbgIGeTg0jSbpI8u9A"]https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSzqkqMd33RMvc2S8RzDXRiVdDrMovsrPEbgIGeTg0jSbpI8u9A http://imgur.com/BKZPTt7 Hugs! -
I would stay a human and go through the portal. I practice chemistry and wizardry. i become a half cyborg half human half gorilla near indestructable creature that comes across as kind and adorable yet having a don't mess with me look if enemies come out of nowhere. I invent a suffering reduction potion that resuces the pain from past memories considerably without affecting current mood. I may never want to come back to the earth world unless it's to get all the good people and have them transform into strong, durable, highly intelligent good people with various superpowers. Then I might go back to pony world and stay there forever and occasionally climbing trees and swinging from vines. Occasionally going to the solitude of a videogames layer or a lab. Often playing games and talking with ponies and also joining them in missions and celebrations. Having fun. The bad earth people will tremble at my presence and gangs will run away if I go back to earth as a highly intelligent robot human gorilla. Though I'll casually be driving to work at a lab dressed in a suit. I'll say, "you need to dry the lab solvent first, and use a lab coat. But what do I know, I'm just an 800 pound gorilla in the room".
