  1. Hey so I forgot to post here! I have a song I wrote for celestia day on EQD last week called ultraviolet. I think it is my best produced pure EDM to date. Check it out! and ponyfm link: https://pony.fm/tracks/30761-ultraviolet
  2. overall Im not as interested in the show as I used to be. It could be that I have changed as a person. When I had my own place, I used to host watch parties with some local brony friends on saturday mornings, which made the whole experience super fun. Now, I'm living with my parents, and my brony friends live all over the place now, and I have noticed my enthusiasm has dropped. I still like it (mostly) and every once in a while an episode will come out that I absolutely love, but the genre-bending, expectation-subverting part of the show seems to be dissipating, and I still prefer sunset shimmer as the redemption character and I wish she could come into the show, thought I have grown to like some things about starlight glimmer as well. I miss the season long arcs with a super villain that sticks around for longer than one episode and the epic action.
  3. well I mean they talk about how many people have a different personality online than they do in "real life". Its been a while since I have watched the show, but I remember the "player killers". Under normal circumstances, killing other players intentionally is not that big a deal ( its just kind of a dickish move). but in SAO, killing players is literally murder, adding much more weight to the act. The reason that they continue to do this is because they still feel that SAO is just a game, not real life. THis brings up some questions: is it okay to do something devious in one reality if it has no apparent consequence in another reality? can someone who is considered a good person in one reality do something bad in another reality and still consider himself a good person because the reality where he did something bad is "not real"? On a less morbid thought line, is love, marriage, and family something that transcends the reality in which it originates? In SAO, kirito and asuana learn to love each other deeply as they are stuck in that reality, but when they "escape", that love is questioned and challenged in the world outside the game. if SAO and "real life" are no longer directly intertwined, should kirito be insistent on his relationship with asuana, or is it starting from square one? is kirito still yui's "father"? So yeah that's kinda what I was thinking about a lot as I watched SAO
  4. right now, I want chocolate. whatever form. candy bar, syrup, ice cream, pudding, milk, nuts, yes
  5. *inserts two cents* I have enjoyed SAO very much. I was especially fascinated with the moral quandaries of the separation (or lack thereof) between online and offline behavior and personality, and the action was great. Anything that is immensely popular is bound to draw controversy, so I don't really feel bad for why I like it, and neither should you!
  6. I consider myself a diet furry (furry light? casual furry?). I grew up watching Disney's robin hood (you know the one) and have enjoyed the depiction of anthropomorphic creatures in media, though I hadn't even heard of the term furry until I got into the brony fandom. As long as the internet exists, there will be people who absolutely love or absolutely hate something, and I think here on MLP forums there will be many allies to the furry community. TLDR Haters gonna hate
  7. I generally find myself more drawn to the shy moe characters, or the earnest by at first seemingly emotionless characters. so if we are talking main six it is fluttershy of course, and I really like Maud and Marble Pie when we push beyond main six.
  8. Yeah that was part of what felt rough to me. I love using blues sounds but it is really hard to emulate brass instruments. I'm sure this wont be my last jazz/electro swing song, so hopefully it will keep improving! I was pretty pleased with the overall effect of the mish-mashed instruments, but yeah it was busy at times. I always need to work on mixing, so thanks for the feedback!
  9. to put it in a terrible analogy: furries are spicy food. bronies are mexican food. There is definitely some overlap, and while it may be tempting to say all mexican food is spicy food, I would like to present the tres leches cake as an example to the contrary. And what is this tres leches cake you ask? I don't know, this is a terrible analogy.
  10. Wow, that is an impressive vocal synth, and a neat idea for the song. Nice work!
  11. This month's song is an electro swing tune rushed to completion for vinyl and octavia day on EQD. Its a little rough around the edges, but I still feel pretty good about it. you can get an mp3 download through youtube or an HQ download through ponyfm https://pony.fm/tracks/30594-roomies
  12. Limestone would only skate for holder's boulder!
  13. Alright! this definitely helps to give a little more depth to the pets and your characters as well
  14. I would love to see MLP begin to tackle romantic relationships. There are a ton of lessons to be taught and learned, though I understand if they never really go down that route.
  15. Its a really cool concept. uses a lot of same technology as amazon's alexa or google home. Don't know how fun it would be to own long term, as no AI is quite smart enough to be their own person yet. still having MLP characters be able to communicate and do a lot of the smart home type stuff would be fun
  16. I highly enjoy Maud as a character. I love the fact that her bond with Pinkie Pie goes way deep, even if their personalities clash like crazy. Starlight was a great choice for the unlikely friend. Another way that you can look at this episode is that Maud has her own struggle to deal with: intentionally seeking out friendship vs. withdrawing completely from society. Maud has probably lived most of her adult life very much aware that she is different, and that it is harder for her to blend in with society. (To tell you the truth, that may be a characteristic of the entire pie family). Maud has often easily chosen things which isolate her and make her comfortable, but after receiving her rocktorate, she knew that wasn't enough. Of course, she didn't want to go anywhere completely new by herself, so her best bet at trying to join society was with her vivacious sister, Pinkie Pie. Despite Pinkie's unwanted efforts, Maud began to develop a genuine connection with someone. However, when faced with the awkward situation of telling her sister that she was being way too pushy, Maud ditched her efforts and instead chose to return to where she was most comfortable, if perhaps a little sad. It then took this same sister who pushed her into isolation to apologize and convince her to come back and rejoin society, where she is happier with her newfound friend. It takes guts to face your fears and rejoin society if you have felt excluded. There will be awkward situations and misunderstandings, but there will also be true and genuine friendships if you look intentionally (perhaps with the help of family). You may find that some of the isolation comes from yourself, rather than others. That is another message I believe the episode conveys on a more subtle level.
  17. Welcome back to the forums @ChaosKitt! I would love to see your artwork (unfortunately I do not have instagram, and I don't know what amino is)!
  18. My cousin is a musician who today goes by the name Analog Rebellion, formerly as PlayRadioPlay. I don't know much about my ancestors.
  19. This month's song is a quick and happy one that started out life as a commission, and then I decided to polish it a little more and post it! It is short, sweet, and perfectly silly. You can get the HQ download on ponyfm: https://pony.fm/tracks/24631-happy-camper
  20. Much chill. much appreciated during the middle of the night. I tried to latch on to the groove, but then the song would change the groove suddenly. if you found a way to help make the groove easier to follow or more consistent, it would probably increase the replay-ability. still, this is exactly what I needed at this time of night. keep it up!
  21. im fine with letting the fandom fill in the blanks rather than the show staff. maybe having them together in the background at one point could be an interesting nod, but i don't think it would be worth an entire episode.
  22. can you tell me some things about here personality? That usually helps for naming ideas in addition to appearance
  23. Big Mac, that way i would actually have a job, I could still sing, and all the mares would love me
