  1. No Tinker Bell? Oh well, I guess it's between Tangled, Frozen and Zootropolis. I'll go for Zootropolis, but only by the very narrowest of margins.
  2. There's a lot of really good film in this category, but for sheer nostalgia value I'd have to pick Robin Hood. It may have came out before I was born but I remember watching it when I was young. Even though this film more than any other thing may have been responsible for the creation of furries , it's still a great film and worth my vote.
  3. Tough choice. Out of those listed It was between Peter Pan, Alice In Wonderland and The Jungle Book. In the end I chose The Jungle Book, good story, fun characters and some very catchy songs.
  4. The relentless march towards homogeneity will continue. Civilisation 10 will be an open-world first person shooter. Mario Kart Super Ultra Redux will be an open-world first person shooter. Candy Crush The Revenge will be an open-world first person shooter. The only game that won't be an open-world first person shooter will be Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 17 which will be a retro isometric turn-based strategy game.
  5. The show would have been about twenty percent cooler . Seriously though, as much as I love Rainbow Dash (best mane six), I'm not sure she would work as the central character. The cartoon was built around an ensemble cast with Twilight as the 'fish out of water' that provides our entry point and allows us to see the world through her eyes so that we can learn about the world as she does. I'm not sure Rainbow Dash would really work as well in that role. It is possible to have too much of a good thing.
  6. I have a couple of Hey Ocean! albums, 'The Hurt of Happiness' and 'IS'. The former is okay but the latter is (to my ears) far superior, particularly the songs 'Big Blue Wave', 'New Love' and 'Last Mistake'. I also have Michelle Creber's albums 'On Display' and 'Storm', the title track of the latter being probably my favourite song of her's.
  7. The first film is undeniably a classic. Every one since then, less so, but still enjoyable nevertheless. I have seen all the films, watched the 'Camp Cretaceous' cartoon series, and read the first book.
  8. Uzaki-Chan wants to hang out! This was a very enjoyable series, plenty of humour and generally very wholesome, with only a few bawdy moments at the expense of the titular character whose bosom is almost as large as her personality.
  9. I just watched the prequel film to the anime series 'No Game No life'. Having already watched the series I was expecting more of the same but the film was a very different beast altogether. The series was light and fun, but the film went to some pretty dark places that I really wasn't prepared for it at all. It was very good though, and I'll definitely watch it again.
  10. Celestia just went up for preorder and I don't think I've ever clicked on something so fast. She's not due due out for a good while yet but I wasn't about to wait and risk missing out on this one to go with the Luna I'm already waiting for.
  11. 'Beneath' on Netflix. It was just absolutely awful, but not quite so bad that it makes it into the 'so bad it's good' category.
  12. I'm not convinced that they'll manage to replicate the success of FiM but I'll certainly give it a fair shot, and if it's good I'll keep on watching.
  13. One of the things they did well in Rainbow Rocks was the music, and this song is no exception to that. I think they managed to pull off the right sort of hypnotic quality to both the song and the dance and on the whole the song just did what it needed to do in the story. So yes, I do like it.
  14. Nobody thinks Disney is going to shut Disney+ or go bankrupt as as the result of this. The whole hashtag thing is just a way for people to express their displeasure at Disney's behaviour. After all, if you are not happy with the way a company conducts its business then you are well within your rights to withold your business from that company.
  15. I'm not likely to go for a full set of these either, I have my Twilight and my Rainbow Dash and that was going to be enough for me... until I found out that Celestia and Luna are on the way.
  16. I wish I could agree with you on that one, but we have seen plenty of franchises that have not only capitulated to the demands of the obstreperous minority but have doubled down on it when challenged. Don't underestimate the influence that a few people in the right places with the right reach can wield. The reason Ripley is so beloved to this day is because they didn't need to make a big issue out of her being a woman, she was a genuinely engaging character that they let speak for herself without having to resort to "If you don't like her then you're an istophobe". She was simply one character among a small mixed group that felt natural, like they had been working together in close confines for a long time, she wasn't a Mary-Sue and more importantly she didn't rely on the characters around her being denigrated in order to elevate her status by comparison. If Alien was remade today I'm sure the outrage mob would have plenty to say about it but I don't think anyone would be calling it woke garbage. Not entirely related, but I'll add this here anyway. The Alien franchise (including AvP) has a long history of female leads, and one thing I find endlessly infuriating is when, even before a new film has been released, the lead character is inevitably compared to Ellen Ripley by the media. This is unfair to everyone and everything involved. It's unfair to the original film, to Ripley herself and Sigourney Weaver, the new film and most of all it's unfair to the actress playing the new character because they are attempting to compare her to an absolute cultural icon which, let's be honest, is a comparison she will never be able to live up to.
  17. It's not great, you'd think a top of the line CGI-fest like Transformers could have handled that a bit better.
  18. I live in the UK and in order to watch any form of broadcast TV you have to pay a licence fee which funds the BBC, regardless of whether or not you watch any BBC channels. I refuse to give my money to the BBC for a variety of reasons so I am unable to watch broadcast TV, which isn't really a huge problem as there is plenty of choice on the various on-demand services that you can watch without a licence.
  19. The stand-outs for me are 'What About Discord' and 'Make New Friends But Keep Discord'. I loved Discord in 'The Return Of Harmony', he was a great villain. After his reformation in 'Keep Calm And Flutter On' (also not a favourite) they obviously wanted to bring him back in but didn't quite seem to know what to do with him. They managed to get him back into somewhat better form for 'To Where And Back Again' but that still left us with these two godawful episodes in between his better appearances. If I was able to remove these episodes from my memory I would not do it, because without knowledge of them I'd be putting myself at risk of watching them again.
  20. I think the word Pinkie Pie would use is 'Anticippointed'. I'm looking forward to seeing it, but fully expect it not to live up to what came before. FiM was lightning in a bottle, but now that Hasbro have seen that there is an adult fandom out there they are probably going to attempt to pander to them, and by 'them' I mean the handful of extremely loud and perpetually offended people on twitter that Hasbro won't want to upset for fear of being 'cancelled', as if that tiny group represents the fandom as a whole.
  21. This one doesn't really surprise me, With MLP and Transformers both being Hasbro properties there have been quite a few occasions where one franchise has referenced the other, such as this scene from Equestria Girls, And also this one from Transformers, Age of Extinction.
  22. I've playing through Fallout 4 again recently, and while exploring the Wilson Atomatoys Corporate HQ building I found the following in one of the computers relating to the production of their 'Giddyup Buttercup' robot horse toy. This seems to be a pretty clear reference to the opening scene of the FiM episode 'The Last Roundup'. Anyway, I was just wondering, have you spotted any subtle (or otherwise) references to MLP while watching films, TV or playing games?
  23. I just got my one of these the other day. I thought the Twilight one was good but Kotobukiya absolutely smashed it out of the park with this one, she looks amazing.
  24. I do like the original film, one of the true classics of the 80s. I haven't seen either of the two direct sequels in a very long time, neither of them quite managed to recreate what the original had, and I haven't seen 'The Next Karate Kid' at all. The remake with Jackie Chan and Jayden Smith was not terrible, but wasn't a patch on the original. That takes us up to Cobra Kai, which I have watched and enjoyed immensely. I think the people that made this series deserve a huge amount of credit for being able to take a film from over thirty years ago and make a spin-off that successfully integrates the original cast with a newer generation of younger characters in a way that both respects the original characters and continues their story and still manages to make plenty of room for the newer characters to have their own place in the story too.
