    I'd turn it on its head. I'd commission a 'Rarity' and give her her freedom. I would then, knowing her as being entrepreneurial, invest in her business, maybe even work for her. I have confidence I would make my money back with interest, as well as making a wonderful friend...literally and metaphorically

    Good morning ponies! Today's featured pony is Rainbow Dash! She was definitely the most difficult of the Mane 6 for me to come up with something. The most obvious was Ride of the Valkyries, but since that already appeared in the show (S2:E7- May the Best Pet Win) I thought I'd challenge myself to find something else. In the end I decided on something a little bit obscure, the 4th movement of Borodin's 2nd Symphony. I'd tell you why I picked it...but I'd rather hear your opinion as to whether it was a good choice

    Mobley's Forgotten Tunes Hello and welcome to the title page of what I hope will become my first fic written 1) in the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic universe, and 2) for you ponies I thought I would do this in a blog format as opposed to a thread just so I can keep it neat and tidy, and feedback can be left easily at the end of each section. That's right! Please leave feedback when I get a chance to put stuff up, it's really valuable to me and helps me stay confident in my writing. That reminds me, if anyone would like to proof read, I would be really grateful and would of course reciprocate the service! The story is mainly to complete the story arc that began in my OC's backstory. If you don't know who that is, don't worry, the story will hopefully make that clear eventually. In terms of when it's set, I've only watched up to about halfway through S2, so I can only base Equestria off what I've seen! I hope you guys enjoy the story. Here's a little foreword to get the ball rolling: Strange noises are drifting on the wind from the Everfree forest that only little Apple Bloom can hear. The adventure to finds its source takes her to a place forgotten by the everypony in Equestria...everypony but one.

    She's a lovely pony I think she (and the rest of the Mane 6 for that matter) is characterised so well. I find that half the time I can't make my mind up about my favourite. I'm glad you enjoyed the music too, you have a slant on it that I hadn't previously considered, but yes, I see it

    For me, it's narrowly between Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and King's Quest VIII: The Mask of Eternity. The former edges out for its storytelling, but I'll never forget MoE for the way it captured my imagination as a child, watching my dad play it

    I'm going to say for argument's sake that she wouldn't. Rarity embodies the virtue of generosity, and marrying for power and wealth is a pretty greedy, self-centred move. I think she's probably thought about it and been tempted by it, but she's better than, not to mention classier, than that!

    Ah okay, I'll have a look at getting equipment for the keyboard. I'm vaguely familiar with Audacity for editing work but forgot about it, thanks for reminding me, and thanks for the info. I'll try and put it to good use. Come Christmas I might be able to put something together to record the piano In the mean time I'll see if I can't do something funny with an 8-bit tracker I'm experimenting with. Any which way, I'll get something up for you guys

    Both, though I primarily meant an acoustic (upright) piano. I do have an ancient but otherwise serviceable keyboard...compatibility might be an issue.

    Yeah, I don't think there would be a case for invading Equestria unless there was some really good propaganda that the invaders were there to overthrow a tyrant and that it's completely about oil establishing democracy

    This is sort of in response to Bendy's thread How many would support the invasion of Equestria? though I actually came up with my own silly question several days ago. Okay, let's turn the situation slightly on it's head. Say that you have been tasked with re-establishing Equestria here on planet Earth and you have marshalled the brony hordes to conquer a single country in the name of ponykind. Which (unlucky or lucky) country would you select and why? I think I would probably go with my native UK: not too big, not too small, the population are already used to a monarchy, and there's a variety of temperate weathers and plenty of clouds for the pegasi Failing that...probably Switzerland for its picturesque landscape and story-book charm EDIT: Don't worry too much about the already-present civilian populace, assume they will be treated well/as good as ponies/possibly get to become ponies if they stay

    Actually yes, I see what you mean with the similarities. Applejack compared to Twilight also possesses a lot of know-how and is smart, but it's a more worldly sort, born of a more personal, applied experience than Twilight's abstract, 'scientific' way of learning. Both are educated, just in vastly different systems (which both work), so I would argue that there are similarities to be found even there, it's just differs in how the core values are expressed. I think (at least from what I have seen so far) that Twilight inhabits a curious space between Applejack and Fluttershy; smart with relatively strong leadership qualities like Applejack, but a bit more insecure and concerned about how other ponies judge her, especially Princess Celestia.

    I'm having trouble thinking of many, I may add some more later, but my current bane are the shockwave MOAs (and their Infested counterparts) on Warframe. Trying to get to a downed friend or to fight your way out of an increasingly unfriendly-looking mob - nope! *Gets sent flying*

    It's a lovely Sunday morning here, and I thought that today's blog post should feature an equally lovely pony! The final three of the Mane 6 feel a bit tricker than the first for tunes to pick, and I thought long and hard about Fluttershy. There were plenty of calm, pastoral numbers which I could have picked, but I wanted to capture Fluttershy's more fragile side too. In the end I decided on this beautiful little piece, Moonlight from Benjamin Britten's Four Sea Interludes, themselves taken from his opera Peter Grimes. Please don't be shy! Leave a comment if you like or disagree with today's choice. I hope you're all well and enjoying a good weekend

    Hey everypony, So I'm a bit of a composer on the side of things and I wanted to share some stuff that I wrote for the community. The problem is that I have relatively few ways of recording anything. If I write on the computer, MuseScore can generate what's written but it doesn't sound particularly good, and unfortunately all I have to record with live is an old cam-corder that I haven't fully worked out how to use, or my android phone...I tried recording using a stock app which I think it meant to record speech and was not encouraged by the results. I'd love to get something up of sufficient quality that ponies here can enjoy the results. At present, I'm not good in the wallet department, so the tech I can get hold of is limited. Does anyone have any helpful suggestions that might enable me to make some headway? Thanks in advance
