  1. Assuming G4 ends and the MLP franchise is never touched again (unlikely)...I think the fandom will still exist for years to come, but will slowly fade away.

Assuming G4 ends and G5 happens in, say, a year or two after the show is canceled....I think there will be some knee-jerk reactions that will cause some fans to stop watching, but ultimately many old fans will still watch it.

  2. Hey NCMares, I'm a big fan of your art ^^

Can you describe your drawing process for me? I'd assume it's something like sketching, then making the lineart, then coloring, then shading. Is there another part of the process that an aspiring artist like me should know?

  3. This is a pointless semantics debate. Going back and forth saying "it is for little girls"..."no it's for EVERYONE". Do any of you release how pointless that is?

Fact: MLP was made for little girls.

Fact: People of other demographics like it.

Gender roles still exist. You can argue over whether they should exist, but that doesn't erase the fact that MLP was intended for a certain demographic, like it or not.

  4. Cool, I'm interested. I have Skype, but if you're doing Discord I could download that.

If I did a 40 minute reaction and edited it so that it only contained the funny parts, making it 10 minutes or so, how would I indicate which parts I'm reacting to? I know you don't want to go through 40 minutes worth of stuff but I'm not sure how to make clear what parts I'm reacting to.

  5. Out of the four EG movies, which one is your favorite?

Mine has to be the Friendship Games, although Legend of Everfree came close. The heavy character development that happened in FG is what did it for me, and while there was some of that in LoE, it seemed more about Sci-Twi defeating the "monster inside her" which came off as plot-driven to me.

  6. Pretty good episode. The backstory was actually really creative - I think that factor is what made it as good as it was. It was straightforward from start to finish, and I found it interesting that Filthy Rich was involved like he was in LoE.

Yup, don't lie because it makes things worse. It could lead to more lies and a scenario like this.

  7. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Rewatch the show. Go back to season 1 and go through the episodes. Trust me, I was feeling like this too recently until I went back to the season 1 premiere and suddenly...I remembered why I fell in love with the show in the first place.

Return to the roots of your interest, and find if you're still questioning that interest when you return to it. Chances are you won't be. Season 6 is only 1/6th of the entire series - I wouldn't base my judgement of the show off a small part of it :)

  8. I recommend watching this. Hank talks a lot about how you shouldn't fear death. It helped me when I watched it.

I don't fear dying because if nothing happens when you die, then your life, memories, conscious, etc are all meaningless and it's nothing you should fear not having...because, well, they never meant anything.

I don't actually believe that though; I'm pretty convinced death is not the end, so I don't think of it as an ultimate end to everything that has been important to me.

  9. Yes, that make sense, why did i not think of it before?  :twi: Gabby is just a Genki Girl type of character with so much energy, so much talents (Mary Sue Trait), lovable by everypony she helped (Mary Sue Trait?), not my cup of tea. Pinkie is the only hyperactive character done right in this show.

I thought it would be better if they make the whole theory "griffin can get cutie mark" MORE CONVINCING, not trying deny it too directly in Act 1/2, MAKE CHARACTERS (AND VIEWERS) THINK THAT IS POSSIBLE and then Slap to our face "Just kidding, do you really think it possible?"   A.K.A False Hope, it would give more weights to the conflict  :orly:, dont you think?

I totally agree. I think the writers thought that making a "perfect" character would make her very likable with the audience, but for me and others it came across as annoying. It seemed obvious from the beginning that griffins couldn't get cutie marks, making the whole episode somewhat predictable.

When Gabby faked her cutie mark I knew immediately that it wasn't a real one, and was further disappointed when she seemed optimistic immediately *after* it got washed off. A good conflict has to include some sadness/despair, but this episode doesn't seem to achieve it very well. Everyone just seemed too happy the whole time, which seems more like a g1 trait than something that should be in this show.

  10. This was better than the Tender Taps episode, but it still had flaws. Don't get me wrong...this was good. However...Gabby's hyperactive attitude made the episode seem as though there was no conflict. No matter how far into despair the CMC were, Gabby would still optimistic, so the purpose of trying to make Gabby happy was self-defeating.

    Also...being good at everything? What?

Being made a crusader too makes no sense, since she's not crusading for anything, she's just exercising her purpose of helping others. The CMC are the ones who are helping other ponies find their purposes in their lives.

Lastly...it was cheesy. It seemed very try-hard and thus came across to me as insincere.

  11. Once or twice a year. I got really sick at the beginning of this year but that was because I pulled an all-nighter and it messed up my immune system pretty bad. Yesterday I woke up with a cold but it's super mild and already seems to be going away.

  12. So, are the unicorns supposed to be like the goalies? Preventing the other team from scoring?

Yup, but they did an awful job at it. Why? Plot convenience, I suppose. It doesn't make sense that Pinkie and Flutters were the only naturally awesome players at the game while all the unicorns kept dodging the ball.

  13. That assertive Fluttershy moment was awesome :fluttershy:

I thought this was great. Hardly anything wrong with it. I liked Snail's role in this, and it was cool to watch Pinkie and Flutters go from not knowing what buckball is, to being really awesome at it. And they beat AJ and RD!

    I'd give this 8.5/10

  14. I'm still annoyed that now EQD is trying to, I don't know, steal the traffic of this site? The whole thing's just really weird, as it looks like it's only going to further divide the fandom  into subfandoms rather than bring it together as one community.

They're not trying to steal the traffic of this site. MLP has been way watched by, supposedly, millions of people, whereas these forums only have 35,000 members. The fandom includes many parts of the Internet, and I'd say that most of it doesn't appear to hang out here, but rather, in other places.
