  1. Update. Judging from Season 5 episode 19. It looks like they are acknowledging it in canon, the pairing of ponies in background shots now is far less random that it used to be before they became a big point of interest
  2. Any Final Fantasy game - not that I've played one for several years - Option to turn down/off the BGM. Same applies to pretty much any game that has elements which require grinding to obtain certain things, and JRPG's like FF are the best at doing things like - grind for x hours to get x and x before a certain event for a hidden thing, most of them though have BGM controls. I don't really like playing a game with no sound at all, but after doing every possible optional thingy that can be done in FF7 I either had to play with headphones on or the sound off completely, because I couldn't bear the mind numbing repetitiveness of a 30 second bit of BGM repeated over and over and over
  3. I've watched Doctor Who for 30 years, and while the premise of "all of time and space" sounds pretty inifinate, the thing about most of time and space is that it's fairly empty, and there's only so many stories they can come up with. Sure they have a bigger scale in terms of being able to add new races and places all the time, but the actual stories have a lot of recycle and repeat If you want to go to the other end of the scale spectrum, there's Coronation Street 8761 Episodes, and Eastenders 5165 episodes. It can be said that they run and run because they're based (sometimes loosely) on real life, which is something that brings up new problems and challenges every day. I don't think MLP is the kind of show that will run for anywhere near as long, but of the enduring shows Doctor Who is in a more similar vein, It's sci fi, but very much fantasy sci fi, and works on a per episode forumla of problem -> problem solved by main protagonists, also for the past 30 years at least it's had a lot of merchandise tie ins My only point was that there's no set limit on how long a particular show can or will run, unless it's created by someone who for artistic purposes has a very specific story arc that concludes within a set number of episodes from start to finish. With anything else the only thing that matters is whether or not it's still good enough to be profitable to those responsible for producing and airing it, the length of time it's already run for is irrelevant
  4. How long something can run depends on how it's handled. There have been mundane episodes in every season, and sometimes the structure can seem a bit formulaic But the same thing applies to Doctor Who, currently sat at 819 episodes and still gaining new fans
  5. Why would they want to invade and kill us all? Perhaps equestria ran out of bananas
  6. I'm interested as to why you require this information Are you planning some kind of heist/kidnap? if so it's probably not a good idea, from what I hear, being stuck on the moon is not exactly a barrel of laughs...
  7. Maturity is basically having experience, and the sense/capability to use that experience to make good decisions and behave responsibly However, when it comes to entertainment and leisure activites, your choice of TV shows should not be in any way restricted by maturity or the percieved concept of it. In fact people who have very responsible, stressful jobs and lifestyles often need downtime and entertainment that's the polar opposite to all the crap they have to deal with on a daily basis. For me light entertainment has always seemed complimentary to the harsher aspects of life. So relating to a show like MLP, there's three reasons why an adult can enjoy it 1. They are actually immature, 2. They need a break from being so boringly mature all the time 3. Because It's a good show Unfortunately most people looking from the outside in, tend to assume 1
  8. Cinch left quietly at the end because she didn't want to damage her reputation by telling anyone about things they wouldn't believe - ie all the magic related stuff So the conclusion of the movie is that she kept her position by keeping quiet, the Shadowbolts themselves were encouraging Twilight to use the magic, but seemed to change their opinion after seeing the consequences that it had on her. So that suggests their attitudes before the end of the movie were more due to being a bit misguided and naive, than actually not caring about the damage it could do as long as they got the outcome they wanted (ie Like Cinch) So probaly Crystal Prep is now like many other schools, and run by a grumpy old principal that the students don't really like or pay much attention to
  9. Yakovlev Vad stuff is always good quality, and I love the Celestia rubber duckies in the bath pics http://yakovlev-vad.deviantart.com/
  10. Maybe my perspective is a little skewed due to mid season 3 being where I started watching the show, but I don't really have any issue with Alicorn Twi, I think as a character she works just a well in S4&5 as she does in 1-2 The only thing I don't quite like since the change is the castle, I liked the Golden Oak much more as her home
  11. It's very true that a typical political party is a group of individuals who all share a similar set of ideals and political standpoints, however that's part of the reason that democratic nations are not as democratic as they could be. People get to vote, but the only options are a few groups of people who have different ideas to the opposing groups, but not a whole lot of range internally. If a political party was made of a group of individuals as varied and different as the word wide collective of Bronies, the only way any decisions could be made would have to be by majority vote, as there would always be a big difference in beliefs and opinions, and the more comprehensive a group is the better they represent the variety found in a population. However without wanting to upset anyone - which I probably will - I have found that a fairly large portion (not most, but a fair sized number) of Bronies have pretty sheltered lives, which is not ideal for a political party, or at least not better than the out of touch stuffy old bureaucrats that we currently have, with limited experience of daily life for an average citizen. Also aside from the talented, kind and tolerant Bronies, of which there are many. I have seen a number of - very vocal - typical keyboard warriors, who are quite prone to butthurtedness, which again is not ideal when it comes to passing things through on a vote system, because there'll always be a small group so upset about every vote that didn't go their way, they'll be distracting attention from the next thing on the agenda So in answer to the original question here, I think the group is too large and diverse to have a particular set of ideals, but perhaps not diverse enough to represent an entire nation or an international community
  12. Agreed that Marble is cuteness in grey Also, she rocks! (you know because rock farm... Yeah I'm still not funny) Not agreed to anything that involves kicking Fluttershy anywhere. I'm sure a new set of fans can make their own podium for their number 1
  13. I like things, things are my favorite! Pinkie emulation aside though, those particular things are pretty neat
  14. Borderlands 2, other skills include - Potent as a Pony, The Stare, Evil Enchantress
  15. Not exactly new, but on topic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JppPNPwFz_U
  16. I think Skippy had to stay behind. They have a bad word policy in Equestria, and Skippy got 1 million years moon time Also, I only noticed my typo after you quoted me - "He is remains", the derp has derped >.<
  17. She made friends, being stuck on the moon however, the only thing she had to make them from was rocks, and as rocks have a natural tendancy to be rather quiet and boring, she ehchanted them to give them sentience. Not an easy thing to achieve, but fortunately she had 1000 years to master it. When she returned to Equestria, she was unable to carry her rock friends with her, so she just took one small rock along, the idea was to use it as a base template from which she could build an army of super strong rock ponies to act as her royal guard. But when she became Luna again, she had no need of an army, so she released the rock - that she had named Boulder - into his natural habitat, ie a rock farm As boulder still carries the enchantment, he remains able to communicate telepathically. Unfortunately though, most ponies are never quiet enough, and don't spend enough time staring at rocks, to hear him Most ponies.. Best I could come up with off the top of my head
  18. Just thinking, it is actually shown that manipulation is her go to. When she has the CMC's staying over (Stare Master) before we get to the whole staring down a cockatrice thing and the crusaders following her instructions out of admiration. The first tactic she tries is - let's play a game called who can stay quiet the longest "I'm the world champion, I bet you can't beat me" It doesn't exactly work out, but disguising what she wants them to do as a game, and adding the I bet you can't beat me challenge, is all manipulation tactics, in abscence of being able to just bark orders at them
  19. Showed it to my daugher a few months ago (age 6 at the time) her response to the young scootaloo and freinds was "oh my god, these things are freaky" Mabe would have had a different reaction if not for the fact that she had already been watching G4 for a long time
  20. Either she's happy in the human world with her current friends - likely. Or still homesick and ends up returning to equestria, in which case there's no reason for her to go to Ponyville, assuming as a former student of Celestia she was most likely originally from Canterlot as Twi was, homesick would mean returning home, with perhaps an occasional visit to her only friend in Ponyville, Pony Twilight I would assume she had no close family or freinds before she left though, otherwise leaving in the first place would have been a much bigger issue for her. So don't see why she would leave the friends she has now A rare visit through the portal shouldn't be out of the question though
  21. A few of mine Chaos No peace or serenity Calmness or rest My head`s full of chaos My mind is a mess My thoughts they just flicker and glimmer and spark I have tunes made of silence And patterns of dark I want to shut down And log off for the day But the chaos stays with me It won't go away So I lie and be silent I block out the light The calmness is coming Im winning the fight At last all is quiet and Im prasing the lord ..No wait bring back the chaos Now Im (beep)ing bored --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Still Here For the days of my life, the paths it has taken Some dark and some winding, so many mistaken For the times I`ve been slipping without hope toward the brink So unable to ascend with the same speed I sink For all that my will has been battered and tested It remains still intact and yet to be bested For those cold days of weakness when I so nearly quit For all this, life you`ve not beaten me yet For each moment and instant I steal for myself I am happy regardless of everything else I live for what beauty, what joy I can find You will not stop me, just try.. I don`t mind At the end of the day each life ends the same So im taking as much as I can from your game While there are still battles and I must still strive Each fresh dawn that breaks reminds me im alive So for everyday forward that I am still here I'll take the good with the bad and new hope with the fear Someday I'll be gone but not here not now And for today I'll be happy, this is my vow -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lights It`s dark in here, it's dark and it`s quiet They say there's a light at the end...I don't buy it So I must pick a direction and march steadily on Not sure if it`s forward, just hope im not wrong Some days it's all easy and I make good progress Others bring demons out of deepest darkness But at last I can see it, a small pin hole of light The answer, my salvation. Looks like they were right Then I get closer, wait, I've seen this before This light`s not the exit, it's a (beep)ing bulb on the wall But I stop underneath it and look up above And it surrounds me with beauty with warmth and with love Now I am ready for the next stage to start I take that light with me in my head and my heart The tunnel just goes onward, with more demons and fights But if I look closely I'll find plenty more lights I self censored the sweary words
  22. Not manipulative in a sinister way, She's just adaptable. When you're very shy, you can't depend on usual methods of persuasion - assertiveness, charisma, confidence, or just plain getting people to follow your lead by convincing them you know exactly what your doing even when you don't So only options are fade into the background entirely, or quietly manipulate. It's actually another example of good character writing that Flutters has been handled this way I'm still hoping that Celestia is the number 1 manipulator though, she hasn't been anywhere near as OP as she should be, and holding herself back for the purpose of testing and developing the elements of harmony is the only explanation that sits well with me
  23. That's actually one of the clips I commented on myself, on the yootoobs. It was in an anti brony clip complilation. Annoying that someone had compiled a bunch of clips to show only the worst of a very large, comprehensive, often talented and creative fandom. But in the end what annoyed me most was this guy. It's not even the show he's complaining about, it's a fricking colouring and activity book. Both my kids would be perfectly happy with that book, and all his whining and the bit about "true demographic" just comes across like someone who would rather the show was just aimed at his age group and stopped trying to cater for kids altogether It's a good show, and it's nice that different age groups can enjoy it, but we all have to share. So in the same way that youg kids won't get some of the pop culture references and fandom nods, there should also be elements that exist for the younger audience, that might not click with the older ones. Tis only fair afterall
  24. When I was a kid, any very foggy day = the nothing is coming, always good fun
