I feel like this epiosde was a lot more justified than either of those Mane 6 episodes. Both Starlight and Trixie have been characterized as having a very flawed friendship. With plenty of bickering and throwing one another under the bus. They're both some manner of screw up, and they're a lot less willfully sappy about their relationship than the Mane 6 are about theirs. The Mane 6 have been together for 8 years, so arguments between them feel even more tired. Trixie and Starlight have been together for 3, and within those three, they haven't been together for a lot of it.

This episode shows them gettingmore and more emotionally unstable as they have to travel. They get more tired, run down. There's more of a reason for them to be getting short with each other. Compared to The End in Friend where there's no real reason for it.

  2. I was hopeful of more development of Starlight and Trixie's uncanny friendship but we got needless fights, bickering and now involving a wagon. This feels like a common theme here in Season 8 with the yelling, betrayal and character immaturity and it's getting really old fast. Too much drama. This episode will be compared to the previous AJ & Rainbow, Rarity & Rainbow episodes and that just means that it doesn't amount to anything greater than what we already seen already. I'm really tired of these kinds of episodes where it seems like friends one minute but another, mortal enemies the next. This hurts character development and it just feels so immature and it doesn't lead anywhere afterwards. I get it, they all "make up" in the end but it feels like a continuous Friendship lesson loop on replay. At least for Startrix shippers, the episode is fuel and now it's replenished and ready.

  3. Twilight's "eyepatch" disguise felt like a missed opportunity for something more silly, funny or even creative. We seen her as "Future Twilight" before and of course the eyepatch is a callback to that but there's no enthusiasm in it. We know what crazy or even creative disguises the show has done before. That's not the point of the episode...I know, but Rarity and her Planity disguise is just so good, it adds much more to the episode in context.

It's just the little moments like these, that really can make an episode stand-out a bit more an can really add to a character.

  4. Much better than Non Compete Clause which this episode reminds me of. Not as annoying, aggravating and the student's lives were not endangered just for the lack of responsibility of said teachers. Twilight and Starlight helped more in this instance and should really as both of them have their prominent roles as head-mare and guidance counselor respectively. Good thing to utilize that in order to devise a plan to bring Rarity and Rainbow Dash back into decency.

  5. This episode covered the most ground so far in Season 8, story arc wise. Chancellor Neighsay returns and exhibits a chance to fight against Twilight's School, this time teaming with the least expected ally, the Flim Flam Bros. The idea of Friendship University posed a real threat and the tension with Twilight finding the bottom of this really made this particular episode interesting.  Her ambitions and her reputation is one the line and we get to see her stand up and to defend it. The Rarity moments where great too, she has so much ranges in personalities being under disguise it just works. The two where really great, when Twilight at the stake of her name and with Rarity expressing her latitude. I think that Chancellor Neighsay only approved and accredited the Friendship University even if it is a scam just to get back at Twilight, not actually caring about learning friendship of others. How vile!

This episode feels better, more forward and more unveiling mysteriously in a way unlike other the earlier episodes where characters usually re-learns or an issue with a friendship problem just feels too common place now. The show needs more daring, engaging, clever episodes like this one because the end is near for season 8. We need momentum, steam and this episode finally delivers that and is a good start. Seems like Cozy Glow is maybe up to something too...Who knows..?

  6. It has overstayed it's welcome that's for sure. The show really turned down after the inclusion of Starlight Glimmer after Season 5 and the Cutie map becoming a mere plot device. The School of Friendship isn't going anywhere too and yet this was right off the momentum of the Movie, which itself is a best described as a mistake.

  7. Aww...Yes I remember it all. I was a younger self with the deep ambitions of finally joining this community to which this very show captivated me. After watching Season 2, I was eager and wanting to know what's its like being a part of this fandom. Google was my friend and I looked online for a discussion based community for MLP:FiM and MLP Forums is the place.  I was later sitting at my desk wondering what my username would be and what profile pic to represent me. That was fun and dreary too because I took so long to find a combo that works for me.

Later on that day I was greeted by many users whom were helpful, cheerful and friendly. I started posting in the forum games and I share my thoughts about the show and eventually my interests grow to such a community.

  8. Create some topics that eventually didn't do so well... so I stop creating topics.

Posted my opinions and some were not well received.

Posting personal Status Updates like some sort of diary...ehhh.

Said the wrong things to other users and making friends the wrong way.

I leave for long periods of time so that maybe when I come back I can have the ability to by happy again but it just feels like it isn't.

  9. Very interesting episode on a side of Pinkie Pie we rarely see. While I think that the mane 5 should of been more considerate and careful in wording how terrible Pinkie did play the yovidaphone, her reaction did cause an stir not just for herself but also to her friends. They know each other for this long and somehow I feel like there's still some boundaries or uneasiness especially talking seriously around Pinkie Pie. Pinkie Pie presumably not aware of it and may of overreact. I do say this though that seeing the mane 5 trying to cheer Pinkie Pie was endearing and sweet.

Interesting, I can see her depression and how the "aura" around her affected the things like flowers and balloons really shows how potentially powerful Pinkie is but of course, she's Pinkie Pie after all. We later see her cheer up again after her friends told her that it doesn't matter how you play it but it's the Fun out of it that truly brings her happiness again. At the end, the result was a solid and well-ended Pinkie Pie episode.
