Yeah, I like recording footage and keeping track of my FPS so it's pretty awesome(especially since it's always on and I can just hit the save-hotkey when something cool happens)
^^^ that's a good feature, cause there is so many things i've actually missed and wanted to go back to see again.. >w<
GTX 760 is still a good high/ultra 1080p/60FPS card.
Well of course it is~ Both the Radeon R9 280 and Gtx 760 are pretty much great cards, better then mine too x3

Rebate card(which I still have to send for)
I'm addicted to Shadowplay now, so I think I'll stick with Nvidia XD.
Ah >w< You'd be one of the few who actually use that kind of stuff to be honest. Nyutin bad about that, I just sometimes prefer looking over Gfx cards (( especially AMD Radeon ones )) because most people will overlook them.
Back before the gtx 980 and 970 came out, the Radeon R9 280 was against the Gtx 760 (( still is techncially )). Most people went with the 760, I dunno why, because technically the R9 280 is faster.. Gimmicks about quality and the usual Intel/Nvidia thing? Anyways.. Today they're pretty much the same price, occasionally you'll find a gtx 760 or R9 280 that's priced a little lower, though depending on how much you really do pay for it, i'd choose one or the other now.

Yeah, I couldn't beat it for $35. especially considering it came with two decent fans installed for that price. It looks pretty cool for a budget case as well.
I paid $110 after rebate for my 750ti, it was on sale big time when I nabbed it.
Ah, gocha >w< Was it a rebate card or just flat out rebate?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131545&cm_re=R9_270-_-14-131-545-_-Product <-- is also $110 currently, which may be a steal, though to be completely honest, I look towards ebay first for a graphics card >w<
I bought my Radeon HD 6950 for $75 there.

Just built mine a few days ago.CPU: AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core Processor ($126.00 @ Newegg)Motherboard: Asus M5A97 R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($85.79 @ Amazon)Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($82.99 @ Newegg)Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($53.98 @ OutletPC)Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($54.98 @ OutletPC)Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB FTW ACX Video Card ($139.99 @ Newegg)Case: Deepcool TESSERACT SW ATX Mid Tower Case ($42.98 @ Newegg)Power Supply: Corsair CX 500W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($34.99 @ Newegg)Optical Drive: LG WH16NS40 Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Writer ($49.99 @ Micro Center)Monitor: Asus VN247H-P 23.6" Monitor ($164.30 @ Amazon)Total: $835.99
For a simpler list instead of the in-depth one up there:
AMD FX-8320(Eight-Cores, 3.5Ghz)
GTX 750ti FTW(2GB)
8GB DDR3 RAM(1600MHz, 2x4GB)
2x1TB HDDs(7200 RPM)
Blu-Ray Burner
Windows 8
Meh, no-one gives a shit about that. Fairly high-profile Youtubers like Linus and Marqus Brownie have built them and Apple hasn't lifted a finger. My best guess is that's a bluff and there's some law keeping them from actually enforcing that.
Someone finally shares an interest in Deepcool's Tesseract and how that case is most likely the best bang for the buck. <3
Though why the gtx 750 ti? I looked at the one, seems like $159.99 but $139.99 with rebate (card?). It's been a bit though, so prices may have changed.
Basically saying, I found a PowerColor Radeon R9 270 for the same price and it generally performs better then the gtx 750 ti.

I got the first computer five years ago, and it was a gift. I most certainly wouldn't have chosen the integrated graphics card if I had the choice... But I was so happy to have a computer that could run games at all. The one before had gotten issues and would crash if anything intensive was done, like watching a video full screen.
It may not take a lot of juice to run, but running and being playable are two entirely different things. The game can run on my current PC, but it runs horribly. It freezes all of the time, textures take ages to load (and are oftentimes very blurry for long amounts of time), Sims stand around for half a Sim day doing nothing after I told them to go to work. etc., etc. Plus, them loading screens... >.<
I went with that graphics card because it was reported to be one of the first in line to run The Sims 3 + All Expansion Packs with minimal lag. I was going to get a Geforce GTX 760 instead but was told it wasn't necessary. Here's to hoping that was true.
*nodnods* Ahh, okay. R9 280's a better GPU then the GTX 760 by a little bit, costs the same as the R9 270x which is unusual, but either or works >w< I prefer to get the best out of my system though, which is why I always check price to performance, always.
Tis why I got my Radeon HD 6950 at like, $75 bucks used. Tis a bossing outdated GPU at a kickass price which rips games apart better then my R7 260x <3

Hm... I'll try to remember what I can. (I recently made a post about this in another topic here, so that may help my memory. xD)
AMD Athlon II 2.20 Ghz
6GB RAM
Radeon HD 3200 Integrated GPU
600GB HDD
24 inch 1080i (or is it p... I don't know...don't care. xD) monitor.
I do not know the rest. All I know is it does not run The Sims 3 well at all, and I couldn't take it anymore.
And here's the one I just ordered, which *should* be able to run TS3 amazingly... But it is a PC, and it is The Sims 3... So fingers crossed. >.<
Intel Core i5-4430 3.0Ghz Quad Core Processor
8GB RAM
Radeon R9 270X GPU
1TB HDD
256GB SSD
Oh pfft, runs like a breeze.
Just saying, Sims 3 doesn't take that much juice to run. Your old computer just had very outdated and weak specs. And being a very big AMD fan, I know my stuff when I say that it can run that game.
Heck it can run a bunch of other games too at much higher settings as well. Though I wouldn't have gone for that specific Radeon GPU, that's still an alright choice to buy for its money.

~267W according to PC Part Picker (and the PSU has an output of 750W ... overkill?), though I'm not sure how accurate that is.
Very accurate actually. I've studied my wattage with different items as well, and that should be about as much as it should pull since both the intel part and the nvidia maxwell part are quite good power savers.
That being said, may never know if you'd switch out the graphics card to something like 2 Gtx 760's or so >w< Then it'll pull about 400 or so i'd believe including processor.
In the meantime, I might as well post my own specs, since i've updated my GPU <3
Case: Sentey Optimus GS-6000 mid tower case, with +1 fan on the bottom added.
Processor: AMD Athlon x4 740 processor, clocked at 3.2 ghz
Motherboard: ASRock Fatal1ty FM2-A88x Killer
Graphics Card: HIS Radeon HD 6950 2GB (( Replaced 2 Radeon R7 260x's by Gigabyte, rarely used both of them at the same time, so I upgraded ))
RAM: Team Zeus 8GB DDR3 2133 (( Running at 1866 ))
Hard Drive: Western Digital 500GB 7200RPM hard drive
Power Supply: Corsair CX 600 power supply.
Roughly i'm thinking that it draws about 350 watts of power since the processor takes little juice, on the other hoof, the 6950 takes about ~250 watts to run it at full. If I end up getting a new computer, i'd probably move the GPU over to it to give it a bit more headroom for performance.

~ Case: Thermaltake Chaser A31 ATX~ CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz~ Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z87X-D3H ATX LGA1150~ Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB DDR3-1600~ Storage: Western Digital WD Green 2TB 3.5'' 5400RPM~ Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB~ PSU: EVGA SuperNova 750W G2~ OS: Windows 8.1 Pro (64-Bit)~ Monitor: Asus VS228H-P 21.5''Just built it last month. It runs games pretty damn well compared to my old computer, though it still ain't the most powerful one out there.
Old post, but do you know how much power that thing is taking? >w<
If you don't, try to guess what ya think~

Hell yeah, i'm always up for creepy and twisted OC's!
Rawr... -w-
And I forget how to show it.. I dun wanna on this thread, maybe somewhere else like PM? But idk how to do it on pm... >w>

owo
*steals you*
I don't cant draw r63, but I have this OC...
She's sorta, dead, but not dead, and dis reminded me of her. Maybe you could... See her? owo

My computer needs some new modules, and I will be getting new modules.
Current specs: (C.P.U. Intel Celeron [1.8 Ghz]) (2 GB R.A.M.) (Western Digital [256 G.B. module])
Planned: (C.P.U. Intel Core i7 [3.8 Ghz]) (8 G.B. R.A.M.) (Crucial M550 [712 G.B.])
Because I have problems when playing games like GTA IV (low F.P.S., bad graphics, etc.)
question
you have a laptop? And what's the 'planned' specs? I mean, is it gonna go into your computer now? Do you have a desktop?
-
I like the way you think.
*patpats his GTX 670* There there... it's alright.
>w<
If you think that's bad.. *patpats R7 260x*

Why depressing? It's two Titans in one for the price of three!
Honestly at this point, I'm just disappointed it's 2x6GB instead of 12GB, but that's entirely to be expected.
I needs me a Quadro K6000.
I needs me one of these bad boys. >w<
Or hell, get four of these. <3
-
I'm one of the "happy" TiTAN owners
My current desktop PC;
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX TITAN 6GB SC
MOBO: Asus SABERTOOTH Z77
RAM: Corsair 16GB (4x4096MB) CL9 1600Mhz VENGEANCE LP
HDD: 2x SSD 120GB Intel 330 Reseller 2.5 RAID 0
PSU: Corsair AX 860W 80+ Platinum Modular
CPU: Intel Core i5-3750k @ 3.40GHz (4.10GHz OC)
Using a custom Watercooling system from EK Water Blocks
Dat titan tho
Speaking of which, the new Titan-Z looks quite depressing if you ask me.
-
Oh the sempron OC is gonna be a rusty's garage special. There won't be a return point and I wouldn't be surprised if fire occurred. Cheap CPU, stock cooler, cheap mobo and lower shelf PSU running on a bit of cardboard as the desk has a metallic finish.
The Athlon works great. I just need to see how well it will handle games. I know it handles Pandora with some distributed computing hammering on it with no issue and that's about as demanding I am from it. I also haven't seen the temp rise above room temp with the stock cooler. That said the IGP is kind of weak even in OpenCL tasks so we'll see how it handles LoL along with Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance.
>:3 Blow the CPU to bits!
And okaies, that's cool~ Since i'm gonna be using the Sempron quad core, i'm not using the iGPU and instead will be putting in an HD 6450 i'm currently not using. It's an alright base graphics card, so it should at least be alright.
-
Maybe. Glofo's 28nm has had its fair share of issues, however the CPU package as in the PCB, IHS, etc, is smaller than a standard CPU package and they probably do a good bit of die harvesting to keep costs even lower.
Sempron used to be AMD's equivalent to a celeron. This was back when the Athlons were top dog and someone decided they didn't like "Duron" as a name. I do have the 145 though. I may have to fire it up and OC the fuzz out of it.
Ah, okay~ And go ahead and beat the crap out of the Sempron :3 Put a water cooling unit in with a good motherboard to support overclocking and run it like crazy! <3
Also how is the Athlon working for you?
-
I like that it can now be done with low power components that aren't hard to find while still having plenty of umph to actually run more than a web browser.
Yeah, heh ;3 And it's not exactly slow in terms of CPU performance either to build one now with one of the Kabini AMD's. It's just cheap to make the processors since it's gotten efficient, that's all.
Still wanna get the Sempron though, since it's a bit cheaper. But I also wanna tell people that I have a Sempron, since the most known one was the 145 Sargas I think.
But it's not a Sargas >:3
-
Sure can. Won't have time until Wednesday but I will do it then.
It's kay, take your time :3 But aint it lovely now that you can build such a cheap PC, mainly just get the AM1 CPU/Mobo/Case and then pick up everything else you have left over?
-
Yeah, the Athlon is a decent chip. Much better than the Celeron 847 it replaced. Does everything I ask of it with relative ease though I still need to test a few games on it. It cost me $136.45 for the CPU, mottherboard and RAM. The other bits and bobs I had kickin' around from the previous board. If there are any games/apps you want me to test, let me know. I got some time to do so coming up.
Heh, okay. Well how about testing League of Legends? x3 The build I was planning out to do (( which I recently changed since a new bundle came out )) was going to possibly run a few games on there, but nothing too crazy. Mainly older games, but I think the 6450 can handle that. Do you think you can test it out with the HD 8400 in the AMD Athlon?
-
My Secondary PC is custom
AMD Athlon 5350 APU: "Quad Core" kabini chip. Low power, more power hungry than an Atom chip but much faster than bay trail especially the IGP. Will be replaced with Beema should it hit AM1
Radeon 8400 IGP
4 GB of 1866 RAM 9-10-9-28: No dual channel IMC on kabini
MSI AM1i motherboard: Nice little mini-itx board
ADATA 32 GB SSD
Antec Earthwatts 80+ bronze 300 watt PSU
All put into a Coolermaster Elite 110 case with awesome (see non-existent) cable management
Windows 7 as Linux Mint 15 didn't like kabini. At all.
Hey! I was gonna do something similar like that too~ It was about $178 bucks or so since my friend was gonna pitch in his hard drive and I was gonna pitch in my spare graphics card. Case was a Cooler master elite 120 white, with 4GB of RAM and all that cool stuff. It had a biostar motherboard with the AMD Sempron quad core.
:3 Fun stuff.

PSU: Corsair CX 600, 600 watt power supply
HDD: WD Blue 500GB 7200RPM
:3
Planning to upgrade.
CPU: AMD Athlon x4 760k overclocked to 4.5 ghz from original 3.8
Cooling: Silverstone Argon AR02 CPU cooler (( may change ))
GPU: R7 260x 2GB Crossfire, basically a second card :3
Here's what the computer looks like now. (( first picture is old, and the GPU was moved to the upper PCI-E 3.0 slot ))

I think of names from the things around me, mainly from video games or shows :3 Recently I helped a friend name his two characters, Heilos Wave, and Seras Kale. Heilos came from the Heilos one power thingy-majigger from Fallout New Vegas and Seras came from Seras on Hellsing Ultimate x3
-
I personally like third person for stories, so that's what I chose when I read both passages~ Considering I like looking at the story from above, instead of looking at it from someone's eyes, makes me feel more like I have better view~

SILVERTEAR!
Hope you like it!
Silver! *huggles tightly* Why is this guy such a cute little one? <3 <3 Is it from the work of... INKY!?
Teehe~ Of course it is! It's got such big and cute eyes, along with the happy little butt this guy is <3 I'm sooooo happy about it! Thanks so much a billion times Inky, you're such a wonderful drawer, and such a wonderful pony~ *a little kiss on cheek Moon gives*
What are your computer specs?

owo <3 First time going intel ever. I feels the happy when I spent like $630 for the new processor, -used- mobo, new ssd, new CPU cooler, and new case~
Also note, it's not that I don't like AMD, cause that's what I switched from.. I just wanted to try something new :3 I plan to give my spare bits possibly away to someone in need. Mainly case, and both processor/mobo.
