I would love if they did an episode made up of a bunch of short stories featuring some of the various background characters (sort of like the Avatar: The Last Airbender episode Tales of Ba Sing Se but focusing more on the supporting cast) I think that they could showcase the lesser characters that are popular with the fans but still keep those characters kind of in the background because they would only be focusing on them for a few minutes at most.

I actually have a lazy eye so I can kinda relate to Derpy. I can only process the sight out of one of my eyes at a time so I have no depth perception but otherwise my eyesight is fairly normal. My non-dominant eye usually doesn't "derp" unless I'm really tired or I intentionally let it. 3-d movies are absolutely useless to me but otherwise I don't notice it.

Equestria seems to be mostly a pre-industrial society. The traditional k-12 school system as we know it developed out of the needs of factories to have skilled workers. The simple one room type school house we see in Ponyville is probably the only education most ponies ever need. Places like Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns aren't very common as the only people who would need that level of education would be scholars and researchers. Other specialized schools like the Pegasus summer flight camp would teach specific skills that only certian ponies would need.

This is my totally non-canon 100% made it up in my head at three o'clock in the morning theory to explain Cadance and Blueblood's status and relationship to Celestia and Luna: Every so often a unicorn is born with wings or a pegasus is born with a horn they aren't true Alicorns they just look like them. Due to their apearence they are given an honorary title and allowed to live in the castle. This explains the presence of an extra prince and princess. Now as to why Blueblood lacks wings my theory is that only horned pegasi are refered to as the niece (or nephew) of Celestia while winged unicorns were refered to as Luna's nieces (or nephews) and due to the whole Nightmare Moon situation Blueblood (and likely most other winged unicorns born before Luna returned and got harmonized) had his wings surgically removed to avoid association with Luna's rebellion. Personally I think the real world explination for Cadance being an Alicorn is more along the lines of someone at Hasbro noticing that their pink Celestia dolls weren't selling very well and deciding that inserting a character into the cartoon and doing a little repackaging was a lot more cost effective than scrapping a few thousand odd units of poor selling merchandise. The executives who sell the toys don't much care for continunity just selling toys.

Personally I think that on a DVD release doing something like a blooper reel or a behind the scenes interview mockumentary would be just plain funny. I don't see how anything like that could be bad in any way. It wouldn't ruin the show and it would give the grownups a little something extra to laugh about.

It is very possible for a kids show to address serious issues in an effective manner. Most of you are probably way to young to remember the episode of Sesame Street when Mr Hooper died (I was 4 or 5 at the time) but having that as a reference point in my young mind really helped me a year or so latter when a close friend of my family passed away. I think that it is important that the people who make shows that little kids watch use the oppertunity to show important life lessons (which I think that MLP:FiM does do a good job of but they could also do more)

Probably we will never really get a satisfactory answer due to the fact that the primary demographic isn't intrested in logic they just like cool looking princesses and the more of those they get the more toys get sold. That being said I have a theory that has been banging around in my brain for a while now. What if Cadence isn't an alicorn maybe she is just a horned pegasus (or winged unicorn). The way I see it Luna and Celestia have to be equal parts earth pony, pegasus, and unicorn. Now we know that due to genetics two earth ponies can produce pegasus and unicorn offspring (ie the Cake twins) maybe there is a rare condition that allows the offspring of a unicorn-pegasus couple to have the traits of both. Because the resulting foal looks so much like the Princesses she is sent to Canterlot and given an honorary title.

It could also have been that Chrysalis was just trying to buy time for the rest of the Changelings to break through the force field, she never intended to win the duel just delay long enough to set up her zerg rush. However the power upgrade she got from feeding on Shining Armour's love was greater than she expected.

I've been curious (and maybe one of you cleverer bronies knows) but just how did the word clop get associated with sexually explicit fanfics?

Are the Wonderbolts an actual part of the Equestrian military though? Their uniforms don't match any other royal gaurds that we've seen and they are never addressed by any kind of rank. I always thought of them as an independent outfit kind of like the Flying Tigers from ww2.
