    Hello everyone, I am in the process of recovering my old account https://mlpforums.com/profile/38975-connie/ but I decided to drop by and make a new thread here because it feels like a new beginning of some sorts.     I havent been here since probably the october of 2017, what a shame. I've also missed so much of mlp, it appears that season 9 is going to be the final one. Is it worth it to watch seasons 7 and 8? I feel like the new writes got it all wrong with season 6, which was quite possibly the weakest one in my opinion.

      In my personal opinion, for what little it's worth, the season 7 finale and everything that comes afterward aren't worth watching. There's been one, maybe two, good episodes, but the rest are mediocre at best.

      It's a subjective thing.

      The S7 episodes are either amongst the best in the series, ever, or terrible - you will have to decide for yourself, but really you need at least to watch the one about AJ's parents - and have something to cry into when you do.

      Other parents that feature? well, we get to see Dashie's parents, and the royal sisters get an episode. Twi (and shiny)'s parents are featured in one episode, which is nice - we only ever seem to get a few seconds of them usually. 

      S7 also introduces (very briefly) the Pillars (the previous generation of element holders, basically) and they are in the finale and... that's about it.

      S8 is the post-movie season, so we get to see hippogryphs, and then there is the NEXT generation of element holders who are students at the school (and only one of them is a pony, the little changeling is almost unbearably cute).

      Big Mac's g/f is S7 onwards, there is the new character race (the Kirin) that only get one episode, And Fluttershy's ponysonas in Fake it are great (even if the episode itself sucks a bit)

      So even if you don't fancy watching them all, it might be worth hitting at least key episodes, so you can follow along the conversations

      Because she changed the game. She partially saved season 6 and is currently making season 7 awesome.

      Oh she was definitely the best part of Season 6, but that was to be fair partly because that season was so intentionally focused on her.  And while Season 7 is quite possibly the best season since Season 2, and Starlight is definitely a big part of that, I'd say there's a lot more other things making this season awesome than just her; I don't say that to belittle or underplay her contributions, it's just that one character alone couldn't be responsible for how many things have been right and awesome about this season. :proud:

    I can't believe I watched the episode just now. It ended just when I was about to cry. Absolutely heartbreaking considering their parents are dead. </3

    I'm glad Daisy (the green haired pony) got to speak again. She has been my favourite background pony since season 1. I'm so happy she isn't forgotten. Oh, she also destroyed Rarity, and we got to see a funny meltdown, bless up. <3
