  1. I used to call her Colgate because of the fan video, "A Day at the Dentist." Hilarious video, btw.

Now, I call her Minuette because of "Amending Fences."

Hey, that reminds me...There was a great game back in the day in which you played as Minuette. It was a side-scrolling game where you had like 5 seconds to get to the exit of each level. It was pretty challenging.

Anyone else play that? I believe it was called "Minuette vs. Tardiness."

  2. I was going to make a new topic about vinyl records but noticed there's already one from about a year ago. I guess I'll just revive it...

I personally really like collecting vinyl records. I just started collecting again a few weeks ago.

    Here's my collection so far:

    1. Led Zeppelin II - Led Zeppelin (2014 Remaster)

    2. Led Zeppelin III - Led Zeppelin (2014 Remaster)

    3. Led Zeppelin IV - Led Zeppelin (I think it's original, but not sure)

    4. Houses of the Holy - Led Zeppelin (2015 Remaster)

    5. Physical Graffiti - Led Zeppelin (2015 Remaster)

    6. In Through The Out Door - Led Zeppelin (2015 Remaster)

    7. MLP: FiM Picture Disc Soundtrack - Daniel Ingram (Luna Variant)

    8. TRON: Legacy soundtrack - Daft Punk (re-release, not the super-cool first pressing)

    9. The Empire Strikes Back soundtrack - John Williams (Remastered,  2016 Barnes and Noble gold disc edition)

    10. El Camino - The Black Keys (Original)

    11. Superman II soundtrack - John Williams, Ken Thorne (Original)

    12. Half of The Beatles' White Album (original)

    13. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - The Beatles - (2009 Stereo Remaster)

    14. Abbey Road - The Beatles (2009 Remaster)

    15. Beatles '65 - The Beatles (Original Stereo)

That's about it for me so far. How about you guys?

  3. I just bought the Super Mario 64 DS port for Wii U on the eShop. I'm very impressed with how well it plays, despite being made for significantly smaller screens.

When they put up the original SM64 on the eShop, there was a horrible delay in the controls that I couldn't get rid of for the life of me, but that seems to be gone for this version, thank goodness.

So now I'm reliving the remastering of my childhood, in all its pixel-y goodness. Lol.

  4. Hello all! Got a new track online, dedicated to Fashion Horse. You can find it in the original post. Thanks for listening and have a great day/night!  :)

  5. It's certainly on the decline. Most people I run into say they stopped playing because they got rid of the little steps on the nearby Pokemon that let you know you were going in the right direction to catch them.

Personally, I don't play as much because it's just not fun anymore. It's as you say...the novelty has indeed worn off. That's just me.

  6. The Burden of Immortallity

    Ok.

Good, you used a four-chord progression. Thumbs up for that. However, now you gotta take it a step further by performing what is known as linking. Take a chord progression and change the last chord so you can link it to start a new progression. Just be sure that it is a reasonable chord. It can't be any chord...

    Here's what you have:

    vi-IV-I-III7

Once you complete this progression 3 times, on the 4th go, change the last chord to a V. Since you're in the a minor, the relative key of C, using the V would link you to C, like this:

    vi-IV-I-V

Then, you can do something like this:

    vi-IV-I-V-IV-vi-ii-III7-vi-IV-ii-V...

Notice how I put the III7 back in there. The III7 is actually the v of a minor. However, rather than switching scale degrees to reflect a minor, best to keep them in C major.

I like those sweeping filtered and sliced air vocals. They give this piece that spacey feeling. However, I'd remove the slice and percussion at one point and just let the vocals resound as the progression goes though. The repeated percussion kills the personality of the piece after a while. Speaking of your percussion, it could use some fills. Dividing your percussion into bars of 8 would help you fix the repeating percussion problem. Take a look at this simple diagram of bars for your percussion phrases:

    1-2-3-4|2-2-3-4|3-2-3-4|4-2-3-4|5-2-3-4|6-2-3-4|7-2-3-4|8-2-3-4|

In bar 4, a light fill should be present to add a little spice to your percussion. Snares are the common fill element, but use toms. They offer a more melodic feel to the fill. Bars 7 and 8 are for major fills, which often end up in big changes to the percussion, such as a build up to a drop, or a noise rise into a complete percussion fade. Either way, experiment with different fills and elements using this diagram. Sometimes, people go as far as putting very light fills on bars 2 and 6.

For a simple ending, you could just resolve to the one with a nice piano arpeggio up to the second highest C, instead of hanging it on the V.

Some strings would work perfectly with this piece.

All in all it's a decent piece, but it could be developed much further. This piece has soooo much potential. I'm here if you need help with understanding anything I said.

Thank you once again for your feedback, Dash. Unfortunately, I'm pretty limited with changing anything I do in the 4beats app. It's all pre-made loops that can't be modified outside of things like reverb and volume. Thankfully, I just purchased a new app called Music Studio 2, which pretty much requires me to build tracks from scratch. It's daunting, but I need the challenge.

But seriously though, thank you for your feedback. Ever since I first posted here, you've provided extensive and super-detailed musical tips and tricks for every one of my songs. The fact that you go the distance that you do is something special, and it really means a lot that you take the time.

    Have a good day/night, sir.  :)

  7. Hello all! Just letting you know that I have a new song online. See my original post for the link. Enjoy!

And many thanks to Thunder Dash for his super detailed feedback!

  8. I've been a loyal Halo fan since the beginning. I remember getting an original Xbox for my birthday with a copy of Combat Evolved. My friends and I played the stuffing out of it. Haha. Good times.

Then Halo 2 came out and we just about broke the disc. Haha. It was played at my house exponentially more than any other game.

I have my best Halo memories surrounding Halo 3. The commercials, the crazy Iris ARG, the Mountain Dew Game Fuel (I was addicted to the stuff haha). There was so much hype...The release of Halo 3 felt like the biggest entertainment release of all time back then. And the game itself was amazing. I saved up my allowance to get the awesome Legendary Edition. Worth every penny.

Then Halo 4 came out. It was a significant step down in quality but I personally enjoyed it. I really got a kick out of online multiplayer.

Then Guardians released just under a year ago. I absolutely love the online multiplayer and I *can't wait* to play Halo 6. That cliffhanger, especially with the Legendary ending, is *crazy.* I really like what they're doing with Cortana.

  9. Hey, everyone!

My name is Valiant Venture. I'd like to share with you a track I arranged with an app called 4beats. It's not the most sophisticated music-making software, but I think the final product turned out pretty neat.

This track is inspired by Princess Luna and her realm of the night. I hope you enjoy it and have a good day/night.

  10. Been single all my life (21 years) and I'm absolutely loving it.

Yep. Loving it. Got all the time in the world...to do...stuff. And things.

    Yes, sir...no regrets here...

    ...

    *sniffs*

    I'M SO ALONE.

(Seriously though, single life has had some pros and cons)

  11. I used to be 3D crazy. I had the 3D slider on maximum every time I played. Now. it's very rarely on at all. All the games I play suffer from massive frame rate drops whenever I turn the 3D on. It's really not worth it to me anymore. Same goes for 3D movies at the theater, but I digress.

  12. Personally, I have a pretty big crush on Fluttershy, both the pony and EG versions. I own a fair amount of Fluttershy merchandise, including two plushies, though that's not exclusively all the MLP stuff I have (there's much more, trust me haha). Anytime I'm feeling down, I think of Fluttershy and I'm right as rain. I even wouldn't hesitate to say that I love her. Crazy how a cartoon can make you do that, isn't it? But it's absolutely fine by me...it just lets you know the animators are doing a good job. Haha.

So yeah. Fluttershy is definitely my Pony crush. She's awesome!

  13. I have been here for a few years and in all that time nobody has actually asked this question. Considering the amount of content we have, I'm impressed with the nature of the question too. An opening sets the stage and if done well it can really carry through to the rest of the episodes.

I may have to think on this a bit longer, but you actually picked one that would be on my list of best openings. Sonic Rainbow and Yay.

Slice of Life might be on mine as well, just for the Derpy speaks again moment, which did set the tone for the episode.

Glad I could bring something fresh to the table!  :)
