Witnessing a sonic boom from a meteor going through the upper atmosphere would be fairly bad-ass, just sayin'. Just stand in the middle of field where there's no glass or doors to hit you. You may get knocked off your feet if you're close enough but at least you wouldn't get skewed.

The above are my thoughts on why Discord changing from villain/antagonist to neutral/good is a good move, character-wise. No, I don't think he's ruined, I think he's evolving as a character. Now that he's broken out of the 'muwahahaha, imma turn yur world into chaos' role, and is thus no longer in imminent danger of being petrified over and over again for all eternity in this never-ending storyline device, his character is free to move on to all sorts of things. Sure he's not going to transform the world into chaos and try to take over now, but that doesn't make him less of a character. I doubt his personality will change, I doubt he'll stop being a world-class prankster, and I doubt we won't see him again.

Sonic's had tons of great games, most of his games have fantastic music (even the ones that suck have really good music), and there are some good sides of the fanbase. Having been apart of the Sonic fandom since 2004, I can definitely say it's nowhere near the type of fanbase we are. The general amount of morons is a few times heightened, yes, but in general people just aren't as intelligent, even if they don't happen to be assholes.

Case in point, I've been on three Sonic forums prior to joining here, two of them died due to low activity or a psycho admin doing crazy stuff that caused everything to implode, and the third one I left because the staff were corrupt blowhards who had such an egotism complex that it was sickening.

The official SEGA forum is literally nothing but die-hard fanboys who chew people out on a regular basis.

Still, I managed to stick to better sides of the community, running two of those forums I mentioned along the way. It's not all bad, like what a lot of people will belittle it to be. The brony community is obviously better in many respects, in fact, all around. Most of the big issues with this fanbase are problems all fanbases have, just bloated to a larger size due to how overly gargantuan we are. Still, I stick by the Sonic community as well, at least partially.

Would you really wanna be caught looking at hot pictures of ponies at work, even if they were safe for work? That's the question. Twilight is pretty hot herself, tho, I must say.

It'd be watched, but it wouldn't be outright locked, no. We've had topics like it in the past, some locked, some not. Honestly I wonder if we don't have a topic like that in the Lounge already.

In the past, in several interviews and at numerous cons, Tara specifically and Lauren made it fairly clear that Hasbro had the same sort of reaction to us that they did; surprised of our existence, but happy. I don't doubt that they see us as a large and important part of their fanbase for their now top show, but I am pretty sure it's not an uncaring, 'they're just a cash cow' sort of thing. They wouldn't bother with products, show references etc if they didn't care at all about us.

Bigger class prankster than Pinkie and Rainbow could ever be, in a nutshell.

I don't see Discord really living with Fluttershy or the others, now. I believe he'll most likely drift about, remaining within the land where Canterlot, Ponyville and Cloudsdale are located, since I doubt Celestia wants to just let him run off around Equestria unsupervised yet, less he decide it's time to take over again on a whim xP I imagine him occasionally popping into Canterlot Castle to bug Celestia just because she amuses him so, or generally just messing with the castle's residence and guards as well.

He's still a 'Creature of Chaos' as he referred to himself. He's just not out to take over anymore, because he's realized friends mean something to him. He won't go past a certain point, as to not ruin that relationship and warrant his needing to be stoned again, but Discord will never stop being a first-class witty prankster.

I'm just happy this episode is turning out to be better than we all thought it was originally going to be.

This is pretty much the life story of the fandom, honestly xD Everyone freaks the hell out and then the show writers demonstrate why they're so awesome, and why we're all anxiety cases :3

Well, Rainbow Dash was living in Fluttershy's cottage, Pinkie Pie had a southern drawl despite not having one normally, and Applejack was at Carosel Boutique (which has been shown to be Rarity's home and workplace), so it's safe to assume that Twilight's spell switched more than their personalities. Also, accents are developed based on your environment, so considering Pinkie Pie had a southern twang, I'd wager their childhoods were altered as well, as Pinkie Pie grew up on a rock farm, while Applejack originally wanted to be a sophisticated Manehattan pony.

 

Either way, the reason why AJ still has her accent could probably just be Ashleigh couldn't do a Mid-Atlantic English accent while still having the voice be recognizable as Applejack. Pinkie Pie's sudden accents could also be because Andrea recorded her lines before Ashleigh, and so the lines weren't re-recorded when the idea was scraped (Though, if I recall correctly the VAs record the lines for each episode all together (with the exception of Tara).

 

Perhaps I'm just over analyzing the show...again.

 

At any rate, one thing is for certain. Rarity's magic is MUCH stronger than we thought. Manipulating the weather of all of Ponyville...by herself? Even Rainbow Dash needed a team to do it!

It'd call that over-analyzing just a bit, yes. They've clearly got the same personalities. The show has them living in each others' places to put a bold face on the fact their cutie marks have switched. Besides, Dash -needs- to live at Fluttershy's, that's where the animals and all their stuff is. AJ -needs- to be at the Boutique, that's where all the dresses, sewing machine, materials, etc. are.

And, that's really comparing magic to non-magic xP I dunno if Rarity is necessarily a lot more powerful, she's just got magic and Dash and other pegasi don't.

Why wouldn't she still have her accent? They've changed cutie marks, not personalities/bodies. That's the entire point. The very reason they're all running around, failing to fulfill each others' destinies is because cutie marks and destinies are born from your personality, because your personality births your destiny. They still have their own personalities and such, which is why they're unable to properly fulfill the cutie marks of each other. For example, take Futtershy: She's shy; she -can't- be a partier like Pinkie no matter how hard she tries x3 Can't ask an introvert to suddenly be an extrovert.

Unless this somehow turns out to be a two-parter in disguise that Hasbro has somehow hidden until now, I can't help but wonder how rushed this episode is going to feel. With only twenty minutes, the cutie mark fiasco is going to eat up a crap ton of that time. Seems like Twi is only going to become an alicorn at the end and then they're all going to have an impromptu celebration, then the end.

If that happens, I am not looking forward to the endless apocalyptic predictions for S4 following a cliffhanger like that xD If we all thought this Alicorn drama was bad now...

Many times when you think of an episode, you don't think of it from beginning to end, in a chronological order. There's a singular defining moment that you think of, that acts as the index, or cover page of the episode for you. Many times this would be the climax of the episode, for example in Sonic Rainboom, it would probably be Dash Sonic Rainbooming and saving Rarity (and the Wonderbolts) from certain plummeting to their doom. Or, in Sleepless in Ponyville it would be the moment Scootaloo reveals her fears to Rainbow Dash, and the two snuggle so cutely that your teeth rot our of your head from the sweetness intake.

Other times it's a specifically cute, awesome or 'huh, that's really neat!' moment, that has absolutely nothing to do with the climax of the episode. For example, 'Games Ponies Play' is summed up for me by Dash's short flashback that reveals her father/brother for the first time. It represents the episode overall because it's a flashback about the plot of the episode (The Equestria Games), it's adorable, and it was really a defining moment, since Dash has never had known relatives shown before.

I haven't watched all the episodes in chronological order, but I have managed to see every episode at least once. So it is not like a character necessarily took a long time for me to like.

 

Rainbow  Dash: Her "At the Gala" part. Especially her voice making that cute crack when she says, "They'll shower us with diamonds". I also think it is cute that "thousands" and "diamonds" doesn't rhyme.

 

Pinkie Pie: "Smile Smile Smile", and maybe also her da Vinci flying contraption in "Griffon the Brush-off", and her practicality in "Swarm of the Century".

 

Rarity: The typical "A Dog and Pony Show" probably.

I didn't say pics were bad, anywhere in my post :3 I'm saying posting pics and not really garnishing much discussion is going nowhere ^^ There's been numerous posts that are just posting pics and not really giving reasons for why they think so and so pony is hot. If we're going to let pictures do the talking, this might as well be in the Forum Lounge.
