  The default settings make it so that any member can message you. You would have to manually go into your inbox and hit the "Disable Messenger" button (it's on the left side under your inbox folders) to block everyone from messaging you.
  
  You can also block specific members from messaging you by clicking your name in the top right, hitting "My Settings", and find the "Ignore Preferences" button. Then, type the name of the member you wish to block.
