That's the thing, the old usage of the term referred specifically to people who were both blatantly and intentionally getting under people's skin. So being mistaken for one wouldn't really happen.

Nowadays, 'troll' is just name-calling used by people who don't like people with opinions contrary to their's existing.

Well, I mean I sort of, kind of, understand why they may have thought that I was a troll...

However, I wasn't trolling, because, it was completely unintentional!

Also, I could go with the concepts of "troll" and "flaming/flamewar" which is kind of funny because as far as I know these terms as they are defined online is internet in origin. These words have completely and totally lost their meaning. "Troll" used to refer to a member that 100% intentionally went out of their way to get under the skins of others. Nowadays 'Troll' is thrown at members who have disagreeable opinions, no matter how genuine and respectfully they are stating them. "Flaming/Flamewar" at one point referred to really mean arguments. At the very least they had to have name-calling and stuff like "Go to hell". Now simple disagreements on forums that have no trace of name-calling, or anything but are strong disagreements are referred to as "flamewars".

Well, what about people who get mistaken for trolls?  That's happened to me, before...

Before the update two posts that same person posted in a row in topic I believe within 24h without anyone else posting between those posts, merged the latter post into the first post and didn't make completely new post like it does now.

I think the feature before was good though I'm not sure if it's possible in the new version.

If you accidentally made a double post, you can report the second post so that a moderator or sectional can remove it.

Is it possible to make it automatically merge, anymore or not?

  6. 1. Become a scientist (it's probably going to take a lot longer than that, though)...

    2. Go to all 50 states (again, it'll probably take a lot longer than that).

    3. Get rich (probably never going to happen, but, a guy can dream, can't he)?

    4. Buy a house (although living with my parents is fine, for now)...

    5. Go to college!

Hey, no one said that they had to be realistic...

How did you find MLP Forums?

How you became a fan of My Little Pony

Believe it or not, I've never actually seen My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic (or any other My Little Pony show, for that matter)!  However, now that I'm a member of this forum, I may check it out...  I found out about this forum from people on a couple of other forums that I visit.
