    Hey guys

Welcome! I've always wondered what the conventions are like, lol.
  2. This episode felt extremely bland to me, although it was an enjoyable enough watch. If I hadn't known that Fluttershy had grown enough to stand up for herself and be more assertive, it might've had more tension. Instead it ended up feeling like something that could've belonged in one of the earlier seasons of the show. I did enjoy seeing new characters introduced, and feel like we may be seeing more of at least a few of them in the future. The giraffe being "just an animal" kind of threw me for a loop, as it seems to have done with quite a few others. I can understand the show makers wanting ponies to be the main sentient force in their world, but we've already seen buffalo, cows, and goats that were shown as intelligent beings. It just seems weird to single out and depict a giraffe as being a beast. Not saying that it can't be done, just that... I wonder if it would've been better to just show all hooved animals as sentient/intelligent, instead of picking and choosing. Perhaps the show should've taken the route that Zootopia did by avoiding creatures that straddle the line?
  3. I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. The little things were paid attention to, and really boosted the overall feel of everything. I liked Spearhead. No one seemed to be out of character, which was great. Pinkie in particular seemed a lot like the Pinkie I remember from the earlier seasons, which I loved. This episode made me a little softer toward Flurry Heart as a character, although I still don't like her design (her proportions bother me the most). I liked her mannerisms, they were pretty cute. As another user already commented, her nature still seems quite a mystery. Some things that remain a question about her character for me are: 1. If she can teleport wherever she wants to, I figure this should lead to some major misadventures for her parents? I could picture her easily getting distracted and ending up... well, anywhere. How do you discipline a child that can teleport away from you at will, and literally barrier themselves from the world if they'd like? 2. It's official. An infant can overpower Twilight. Coupled with her intelligence, what does this mean for her in adulthood? Will she mature faster than a normal baby? Just imagine if she turns to the dark side... she'd be a very scary entity. 3. Flurry Heart can fly, despite being younger than the Cakes. Her eyes also have never appeared "normal" the way a foal of her age should've. Flurry Heart has been given a lot of attributes that make it feel almost like she could take the spotlight herself. We'll see... although I personally hope this isn't the case. Her struggles with magic will be interesting nontheless. Again, great episode, really hope the rest of the season keeps up the good quality!
  4. I didn't enjoy All Bottled Up as much as the other episode, although I did like the lesson behind it. These two episodes were encouraging, season 6 seemed very lackluster and had me a bit worried.
  5. As mentioned already, learning by copying is a great way to begin. I recall someone saying something like "an animator told me ponies are basically just a series of tubes that connect to their jellybean shaped body and their circular head" and realized it's rather true. You don't necessarily even have to start out with a tutorial, although there are some good ones on Deviantart and in basic Google searches. You can literally go online, find a picture you like (go for a simple one, not one where someone got super artsy on shadows, textures, etc. IMO) and try to copy that. It takes a bit of getting used to, but practice daily (like anything else you're trying to learn!) and you'll get it down.
