This won't be like my typical reviews to be honest. Rainbow Roadtrip was a pretty good special for the show. Loved that they used the artstyle of the movie (Supposedly, this was supposed to be the sequel of the MLP movie from 2 years ago). I really enjoyed the build up, and the romance storyline. It was overall a good way to send us fans off into the US summer haitus (unless you watch the chinese airing of the next episode).

The season finale started off very slow and brooding but really picked up by the end of the first half of the two parter. It was so obvious to me that Cozy had ulterior motives, especially in the aftermath of What Lies Beneath. The build was very good, albeit slow in the beginning. I liked seeing the return of the creatures that the Mane 6 had previously defeated, and the return of Tirek was pretty interesting as well.  Neighsay was his usual, racist self in this one, but did a heel face turn faster than almost any other character in the show. I love the fact that the Friendship 6 where the ones to save the day here, with assistance from the CMCs.

Overall, this was a great wrapup to the end of season 8. It sets up season 9 well, with many possibilities moving forward for what is (supposedly) the final season of MLP: Friendship is Magic.

    Grade: 9.1/10 A-

Season 8 was a tale of two halves. The first half was significantly worse than the second half, which worked in its favor. There was a fair amount of continuity between episodes, but I feel like there could have been better continuity between all the episodes. Overall, the season was pretty good. A very good amount of new content, including the new species, new locales, and return of all the pillars of equestria.

    Overall grade: 91% A-

I know hate is a strong word, but I seriously hate Scootaloo's parents. They single hoofedly ruined what could have been a great finale to the series long story arc of the CMCs. The episode was a bit of a throwback to when the CMCs would do everything and the kitchen sink to get their cutie marks and then find the message with their cutie marks. Scootaloo's aunts were a great addition to the episode, a sort of calming voice for this episode. The ending was certainly the mark of the end of the series, with the town and others showing great appreciation for the CMCs. But, Scootaloo's parents absolutely killed this episode for me. The CMCs were great throughout the entire episode, and the ending was great with the town showing their appreciation for the three fillies.

This was the season debut of the Student 6. I really enjoyed this one. It showed the difference of ideas that each of the 6 had, with Yona yet again being the big player in this episode. We also had the first new song of the season. I won't give anything away here, but it was a good episode that showed the differences that friends can have. But, when you get through those differences, friendship can create something beautiful.

This episode started off with Rockhoof trying to find his place in Equestria by trying various jobs, especially over the first 10 minutes. The episode was a slow building through the early part. The moments with Rockhoof trying various jobs were very funny. This episode also featured the return of a few of the Pillars, showing what they where doing as their job following their return and integration. The star of this episode was Yona, who admitted to him that she wan'ts to be like him when she grows up. By the end, he's anointed the Keeper of Tails.

Overall, this was a very good episode. It had an overall good pace, through it was rushed a bit toward the end. Yona was the star in this episode as well. I hope we see more episodes that focus on the individual members of the student six.

This episode started off fast with all kinds of students needed help, Silverstream in particular. It just got more and more annoying as the first segment went on. Trixie was certainly not helping the episode either. It also featured the return of the MLP universe's version of ShAmy and the return of Terramar. The second segment featured the entire party helping to find Silverstream in the Everfree Forest. The final segment of the episode features the return of the friendship treehouse and Silverstream working hard on her project with a willing Cockatrice. Overall, I thought this episode was very noisy and had a pretty predictable ending to it. It felt rushed, and made Starlight realize she doesn't need to be there for her students 24/7.

First is is Frenemies. I really enjoyed the different look of this episode with the episode focusing on the villains, rather than the heroines of the series. The musical number sounded like something you'd hear from a Disney villain from the 80s and 90s. Love that they were basically forced to work together and the near/aborted heel/face turn happened. I also love the new undercurrent of a betrayal by the three against Grogar. This will make things much more interesting as we approach the end of the season and the series.

Lastly is Sweet and Smoky. This was a pretty good episode. Love the dueling storylines, and the focus on the dragonlands. Love the integration of Garble into the episode's story and his new foils to his character. And of course... Fluttershy being Fluttershy to the extreme in this one. It did work very well, as the storylines played off each other well. Garble was the absolute hero in this episode, there is no denying that. And... That last 10 seconds of the episode... SOOOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE!

For this being another Equestria Girls special, and a lot of the same things over and over again, it was pretty good. Lot of emotions, even through the dialogue and writing were annoying at times. There was also a major swerve in the middle of the special too, but I'll let you guys find out what it was. Overall, it was a pretty good special to keep the fans hungry for the mid-season premiere next Saturday.

    Sounds of Silence

This was a very good episode. Another AJ and Fluttershy centered episode, with both doing well to really fill their roles. I loved the new species, the Kirin, that where introduced in the show and also the Character Autumn Blaze, voiced by Rachel Bloom. I loved her song as well. It was a bit rushed in the resolution however. But overall, the episode was very good. Good establishment of the newest species to the series and a good song to go along with it.

    Father Knows Best

This episode started off well enough, with spike flying WORSE than Twilight did when she first got her wings. As soon as Sledge was introduced, I knew that it was going to be a fairly meh episode. Turns out that I was right. The episode overall was about meh at best. To be honest, this is probably the worst episode of the second half of the season. The song was good, but I didn't care for how Sledge took advantage of Spike.

This episode started with a concept we've not seen in a long time, the Rainbow Dash fan club, with devolved into the fan club for "The Washouts". It was a good cold open, featuring Scoots and RD prominently. The first segment featured a good pace, and a return of Lightning Dust, who hadn't be in an episode since her appearance in season 3. RD and LD both let their rivalry be known. A couple of funny moments were sprinkled into the episode in the first segment. Heading into the second segment, Scoots does a tweener turn, becoming a Washouts member. The pacing, and RD saving the day were what made this episode a great episode. The ending was cute as well,

It, overall, was a great episode, one of the best of the season thus far. The return of Lightning Dust made the episode good, but what really made this a great episode was the emphasis of the sisterly relationship that RD and Scootaloo have. There has not been enough of these kind of episodes to be honest. It had good writing, a good pace to it, a couple of funny moments, and a great resolution to the episode.

This episode started and had a focus throughout on the Student 6, and their problems with studying (college problems, am i right?). A series of funny moments occurred in this part of the episode, with Ocellus mocking AJ and Twilight, along with the realization that Silverstream likes... plumbing. The group goes into the cave, and are met by a creepy, glowing version of Twilight. Following, the 6 were separated, causing them to face their biggest fears. The fears ranged from claustrophobia and spiders to being cute. Speaking of, Smolder is very cute in her dress. I wanna see more moments with her being cute. By the end, we find out that the glowing version of Twilight was the tree manifesting her. And yet again... Cosy Glow screws up and it ends with a sense of foreboding. Overall, this episode had a lot of layers to it. From each of 6 facing and conquering their fears, to the gentle nod to what is to come, this episode was fantastic. It was a bit rushed at times, but overall, the episode was a good "face your fears" type of episode.

Alright. I've been doing this on Fur Affinity for about 5 years now, and I wanna give it a trial run on the MLP Forums this week.

The rules are simple. Ask me whatever you want, and you can ask more than one question. I'll be on after I get home from work today to answer.

First of all, it was a brilliant move to have the voice actors pitch ideas for this episode. I loved much of the episode, and twilight twilighting like she always does. It was overall a great episode for the 200th episode, and at the same time very funny. I loved every second of it.

This was a heck of a way to start the final season. Based on the last image of season 8, I had a feeling that Cozy and Tirek would be involved. Love the return of Sombra and the gen 4 debut of Grogar. Thought that Sombra's voice left a bit to be desired, but that's just a little nitpick. Discord was the true MVP of this episode. Overall, it had a good pace, a good story, and a whole lot of Twilight being Twilight. Joanne Lewis and Kristine Songco did a fantastic job parcing out this in a well thought out and well paced way. However, the fact that they basically killed Sombra off... yet again, ticks me the heck off. Hopefully this will lead to him returning later this season, although not really expecting that.

This episode is very typical of the early series CMC episodes. Love all the great facial features. The new character models for the adult CMC are recognizable with a slightly different main and tail styles. The song isn't overly great, just basically bragging that they are adults. The song is catchy through, and I love the wink and nod to the production of the show during the song. The voices of the actor even sound a bit older for the episode. The two new characters in the episode seemed like typical siblings. Overall, this was a bit of a weak way to end the CMC's story arc in the show. I liked the song somewhat, but it was overall a fairly weak end to the CMC story arc for the show.

This episode had a very good start. Twilight is being so Twilight in this episode, it's absolutely fantastic... at first. Pinkie is, of course being totally Pinkie. I love the fact that AJ and Rainbow Dash are being over the top as usual when it comes to being competitive. Twilight continues totally over the top by using the dumbest rules ever. Twilight continues to be a jerk to Pinkie throughout the episode however, getting Pinkie disqualified from the game purposefully. This entire episode basically went from being totally over the top to being one of the bottom of the barrel episodes. Luckily, Sunburst gets Twilight to come to her senses. It's the same lesson that Twilight has learned more than once in the series. Overall, it was a good episode, but was a rehash of lessons that Twilight has learned over and over again.

I freaking love the cold open of this episode! Having the major players of this episode doing monologues describing what happened is fantastic. The final Spike/Discord/Big Mac certainly got off to a great start from then and there. It's a great example of a flashback episode, giving Mac a bit more personality and Discord is being Discord as normal. Love the usual references and gags, along with the the apples basically taking over Ponyville, and the CMC were helping Sugar Belle with her message sending. I love the moment with Granny describing her dream as well. (Star trek reference!) The ending to this episode is probably the most touching and great ending to the normal episodes. Seeing this ending is the best way that they could have gone before the series finale. Glad they decided to wrap up the Big Mac/Sugar Belle story arc, because they ended up creating a gem of a episode.

Here's my thoughts on the massive 16 match card of Wrestlemania 35.
    1. Women's Battle Royal (Kickoff Show)- With no true title defense of the Smackdown Women's Championship this year, this will have a lot of women superstars from Raw, Smackdown, and NXT, and perhaps even some legends returning for a one off. Winner - Asuka
    2. Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal (Kickoff Show)- This one will, like the Women's battle royal, feature a slew of talent from all three brands. The stupid storyarc with Braun Strowman, Colin Jost and Michael Che will finally end. Winner-Brawn Strowman
    3. Buddy Murphy (champ) v. Tony Nese for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship (Kickoff show)- The cruiserweight division's championship is once again relegated to Wrestlemania Kickoff show status. However, I think this will be a sleeper for one of the best matches of the night. Murphy has been doing a fantastic job as the top guy of the division, and the battles that Murphy and Nese have had will make this match that much better. Winner- Buddy Murphy
    4. The Revival (champs) v. Hawkins and Ryder for the Raw Tag Team Championship- The first match of the the main card is a match that was confirmed earlier today. THis will be a good match that will be dominated mostly by The Revival, but this would be a good place for Curt Hawkins' massive losing streak to finally come to an end. Winners and new Raw Tag Team Champions-Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder
    5. Fatal 4 Way Tag Team match for the Smackdown Tag Team Championship The Usos (champs) v. Ricochet & Aleister Black v. The Bar v. Rusev & Shinsuke Nakamura- This will be a knock down drag out fight pitting soem very good teams against one another. Honestly, I wish this match were a Ladder match, but this could change again. I think we're gonna see a heel team get a run with the belts. Winner and new Smackdown Tag team Champs-The Bar
    6. Kurt Angle v. Baron Corbin (Angle's retirement match)- Let's get one thing straight here... THERE IS NO WAY CORBIN IS FACING ANGLE IN HIS RETIREMENT MATCH. There is more to this story than meets the eye. I think that Corbin will be attack back stage Sunday night and a replacement will be named. John Cena and the Undertaker are logical choices for Angle to wrestle against. But, we all know that WWE doesn't use logic. Winner-Kurt Angle
    7. The MIz v. Shane McMahon (Falls Count Anywhere)- The Miz has been on a tear as of late, single handidly taking down Sanity a couple of weeks ago. The numbers caught up to him this week on Smackdown however. Who knows where this match will end, but it's pretty much a forgone conclusion that Sanity will have some sort of impact on it. With that being said, I think the WWE will drag out this feud for as long as they can. Winner-Shane McMahon
    8. Women's Tag Team Championship Sasha Banks & Bayley (champs) v. Beth Phoenix & Natalya v. Nia Jax & Tamina v. The IIconics- This will be the biggest challenge of the Boss n Hug connection's reign thus far. However, I think they will come out on top. Winner-Sasha & Bayley
    9. United States Championship Samoa Joe (champion) v. Rey Mysterio- This match is still up in the air due to Mysterio injuring his ankle on the go-home Raw this past monday in his match vs Baron Corbin. If it does happen, we'll see what will be a great match between two former world champions. Winner- no idea due to Rey Mysterio's injury
    10. Intercontinental Championship Bobby Lashley (champion) v. Finn Balor- The demon returns. This will be a hard hitting match between these two. Balor goes over because he rarely loses when in his demon body paint. If this does happen, I think that Lashley and Lio Rush will finally break up. Winner and new Intercontinental Champion- Finn Balor
    11. Triple H v. Batista (No Holds Barred; Triple H's career on the line)- It seems like this could very well be the final match of each of these guy's careers. Batista is the only guy he was not able to beat back in the day, and I think that he will come out on top. Winner-Triple H
    12. AJ Styles v Randy Orton- If done right, this could have huge implications to the WWE Championship picture moving forward. These two have not had a singles match as of yet, but with the bad blood starting to boil over here, this one has the makings of an instant classic. Winner-Randy Orton
    13. Roman Reigns v Drew McIntyre- Another match that brings huge implications to the WWE Universal championship picture, this match pitting two big hosses of the WWE will be a slobber knocker, if not anything else. With Roman's recent return from his leukemia recovery, he will win this match and establish himself as the number one contender. Winner-Roman Reigns
    14. WWE Championship Daniel Bryan (champion) v. Kofi Kingston- This match has all the earmarks of Daniel Bryan's title win back a few years ago. This will be a highly competitive match, pitting one of the better flyers of the era against the most techinally sound wrestler of the era. I think Kofi finally achieves his lifelong dream. Winner and new WWE Champion-Kofi Kingston
    15. WWE Universal Championship Brock Lesnar (Champion) v. Seth Rollins- This will be a fight. However, this will also be the crowning moment of Seth Rollins returning to the summit, finally slaying the beast. Winner and new WWE Universal Champion-Seth Rollins
    16. Winner take all Ronda Rousey (Raw Women's Champ) v. Charlotte (Smackdown Women's Champion) v. Becky Lynch- IN one of the most stupid moves in the history of the business, this match will unify the raw and smackdown women's championships. This will be a match full of strikes, suplexes, and submissions. This will be an all-out brawl. With the Women finally main eventing Wrestlemania, this match will not disappioint. Winner and new Raw and Smackdown Women's Champion-Becky Lynch
The card is subject to change over the next couple days and could change yet again, who knows.

Where do I begin with the series finale... It was every bit as epic as I thought it would be. THis will be brief, as I do not want to spoil anything for those who weren't able to see it this evening. I will say it had a great build throughout the hour allotted, and ended in the way it should have. The epilogue was awesome, the last song of the series was a great cap to the show, and the last shot and book closing was exactly how I wanted the show to end. The perfect end to this great show.

Been meaning to do this for a while. With the next several blogs or so, I'll be giving my ranking of the Doctor Who main theme song, from the original version first heard in 1963 to the newest version. I'll start off with a special mention and my least favorite of the several reversions. I'll be going from my least favorite to my favorite, with no number ranking.
The special mention is a theme that was never meant to ever be aired. This particular theme, however, did air in a pair of episodes in the Jon Pertwee serial "Carnival of Monsters" in Australia. This is the "Delaware" version of the theme

Now into the main crux of this. The first theme of this series Is the Patrick Troughton revision that was recorded for his three seasons. I will preface this by saying that I love all these themes, just some more than others. That being said, the Troughton era theme isn't bad, but it's not great. The sort of stutter heard in the theme I personally don't really care for. It's a good version, just not my favorite.

Thanks for reading. Next one should be posted sometime tomorrow (depends on how fast I get homework done).

The Ticket Master is a good example of following up a great premiere with another good episode, even though it was fairly unnecessary. With the overarching storyline being the Grand Galloping Gala, this episode basically starts the season long. This was also Amy Keating Rogers first episode, and knowing what we know now... her episodes are good for the most part. Each of the 5 coming up with reasons why the should go (besides Rarity and RD) were pretty good. Pinkie's antics (and the typical early series song break from her) just added to the greatness that this episode had. The drawback is the extreme persistence of each pony vying for the second Gala ticket. They just did not get it that Twilight couldn't choose. It ends in the best way possible of course, but this episode felt like filler despite starting off the Gala story arc. Overall, a decent to good follow up to the series premiere and did a good job to establish the season long story arc. However... it felt more fillerish than anything. The song breaks with Pinkie were fun, but overall it could have been better.

The premise of the episode is good overall. But... the actions of a certain blue pegasus really ruin this episode. Rainbow dash came off as a jerk throughout the scenes she was involved in here, wanting to focus more on the buckball team itself rather than the cheer squad. This was a complete waste of an episode. Snips didn't help either with his greed coming out at every turn. Yeah, it was redeemed by a pretty good ending. But overall, I can say this is one of the worst episodes of season 9. It's a shame that it was so bad because it had a lot of potential.

This episode allows Fluttershy to shine, and shine she does in her timid and cute way. The start of the episode consists with the typical Angel Bunny actions and ends with the first indication of the episode's subject. Good opening to the episode.
THe start of the first segment features Flutters trying to get everyone's attention and the subplot of RD bouncing the ball. Of course everyone is listening to Twilight and not fluttershy. Twilight doing Twilight things with the books. The montage that follows was a brilliant way to show how each of the mane 6 prepared for their mission. And the mandatory Spike cameo for this episode takes place.

Segment two begins with the ascent of the mountain. Flutters of course is being extremely timid of course. And cue the mandatory early series Pinkie breaking into song trope as well. And of course... the quietest pony causes the avalanche. This was a good segment with RD of course being a complete and total jerk to Fluttershy following the avalanche.

Segment three starts off with an assessment of what each pony needs to do to save Equestria from the dragon. The other members of the mane 6 try to convince the dragon to leave the cave, eventually ending in a complete and total failure with Rainbow Dash going in and basically ticking the dragon off to the point of him charging at the problem. This was very emplicmatic of RD's egodriven personality in the early seasons of the series. But what makes this episode great is of course Fluttershy standing up to the dragon and being selectively assertive. That made this first mane 6 centered episode (outside the series opener) great.

Overall, this was a great episode that set the stage for later Fluttershy assertiveness moments. RD was very overbearingly jerky in this one, but other than that, it was a very good episode.
