  1. I was just wandering around the intarwebz and, oh look, I found a things.
  2. Everyone's favorite photo of me is photoshopped
  3. Wow. I've officially been a member here for 3 years. Go, me! :D

  4. I watch online. Living in Japan, I can't get the new eps any other way. While MLP has come to Japan, it stopped at Season 2. I don't know if more will be released, but they do need to be translated and dubbed, so that takes some time. I'd rather get the content sooner than later.
  5. Apple Cider, one of AJ's relatives. I think she only appeared, like, once or twice, but I really like her design. And she seems like she'd be, like, really kind and sweet. I also like Lemon Hearts, who I think is more recognized than some background ponies, but definitely not in the ranks of Derpy or Lyra. I think more than I like her, I'm just drawn to her. For whatever reason, whenever she's on screen, I immediately pick her out without even trying. I didn't think Shining Armor was unpopular. If he is, I totally dig on Shining Armor. He is my husbando I know Cadance got some backlash, but I think it's subsided? I like her too. She's nice. She was the Princess with the most personality for a long time. Gradually, Luna and even Celestia have gained some personality, but at the time of her introduction, Cadance had the most character. Hugh Jelly. I dont think anyone doesn't like Hugh Jelly. Actually, I think many people do. But I don't think he's remembered most of the time.
  6. I used to have a bit of a braces thing, but that's when I was a kid and the people I'd be interested in were of an age where they would be wearing braces. While they do exist, not many 20-somethings wear braces. Although, I don't know if this is related, but nowadays, good teeth are a bit of a big deal for me. Rather, I should say, bad teeth are kind of a deal breaker. Also, for whatever reason, I think it's cute when someone's voice cracks? I dunno. To me, it's very humanizing without being gross. On the other side of things, I find any skin discolorations very unattractive. Another deal breaker for me. Especially moles. Especially raised. I know it probably sounds dickish of me to say something like that, but I'm sorry. It's just such a turn-off for me. Especially around the face. Although, oddly enough, something like a port-wine stain doesn't really bother me, even though compared to moles, for most people, a port-wine stain is more of a turn-off. I dunno why. I don't mean any offense toward people like this. Like I said, I don't know why. It's just an innate visceral reaction I have. I've been this way for as long as I can remember.
  7. Yes. It never rhymes and I don't know how much of an actual song you can really call it, but I often just sing whatever I'm doing or whatever I'm thinking.
  8. This is the first pony vector I made myself. Any others I've made have all been made from bases or images. This is one that I drew and then vectored myself I originally was gonna have his colors inverted: blue body with a yellow mane. Then I realized that that's Lightning Dust's color scheme, so I inverted it. I was also gonna make his stripes a lighter aqua, but when I looked at it, it wasn't stark enough, so I just made them white. I was quite proud of the eyes :3 I feel like that's where things really started to come together. I also like how the wing came out. I think the legs are definitely a bit weird. I was having trouble with them and found myself redoing and redoing them. I finally settled at this. His body was a lot longer at first. Why, I'm not sure. I narrowed up his length a bit, but I still think his body may be a bit longish. I also feel like there's something not quite right with his jaw/snout, but I can't put my finger on it. Also, his cutie mark is obscured by his wing, so I included that as well. All in all, I think I'm rather happy with how this one turned out :3 Now all that's left is to come up with a backstory...
  9. I'm not gonna be very creative with this one, but Blastoise. My first Pokémon <3 However, I've recently found some that I really, really like that come very close to Blastoise. Gardevoir, Audino, Aggron and Goodra are all recent top 'Mons for me. I particularly like using Power Whip with Goodra, and he looks all serious as he's attacking, but immediately after, he's boucing around all happy like, "Look! I did a thing! Yay!" And, zomg, Aron's, like, the cutest little thing in all of ever. But for all intents and purposes, Blastoise is my favorite. I don't know that he'll ever be replaced.
  10. Knuckles. And Sonic Boom doesn't count. Can we all just forget that game ever happened? Also, I love Chaos <3
  11. I promise I'm not always this fannish. I just have this one stuck in my head for whatever reason.
  12. I got me some serious resting bitchface. I look pretty deadpan, bemused, bored or annoyed. Hell, I look like that even when I'm enjoying myself...
  13. I don't know the exact models. For a long, long, long time, I had this very small Samsung flip phone. It was, like, indestructible. Like, I fell on it and squashed it and wrecked the outer display but it still worked for a lot of years. I studied abroad in Japan and got a pre-paid candy bar. That I used for all of 2 months. When I went home, I went back to the first phone. Then I moved out and my parents discontinued service. When I came back to Japan, my candy bar was obsolete, so I had to get a new phone. It was really, really good. It was a flip phone. A little big, but I really liked it. When I went back to America to visit, I got a prepaid. I figured I can always just add money whenever I go for a visit, so I thought that was a good solution to not having a phone anymore in the states. Just recently, my Japanese flip phone broke. I don't know what happened. I was using it, I set it down, and a few hours later, it went black and it wouldn't take a charge. I don't know what happened. I didn't do anything to it. So unfair And, of course, they didn't have the same model. So now I'm stuck with this stupid, crappy, stupid shit crap of a crap of an excuse for a crappy phone crap that craps all the crap all day long. Fucking, I hate that stupid piece of shit. It's so useless! I cannot put into words how much I hate that phone. I just hate it so much. It's so stupid. First, it's not a flip phone, which is what I really wanted, but they didn't have. So it's gotta lock, but it takes for friggin ever to unlock. And it doesn't have, like, half the features my other phone had, despite being considerably more expensive. Why's it gotta cost so much when it doesn't do jack fuck? Where's my Japanese-English dictionary? Why did that have to be omitted. The settings are stupid as shit and very counter-intuitive. The sounds are dumb. The texting is atrocious. Whoever programmed this phone should be arrested. Then shot. Then kicked in the nuts. Seriously, this is 2015. What the hell kind of phone doesn't let you change case? It's a basic function of writing! Why do I have to hit the stupid button 10 times in order to write something correctly? Just make a button change the case! Why does that have to be so fucking hard? And every time I wanna send a text, I have to wait for "uncompression." What? What the hell are you uncompressing? It's a fucking blank-ass text message. Phone! Why do you make me want to smash you into a wall every time I use you?! Why do you gotta be such a piece of shit? Why can't you be more like your older brother. He did things. He was a phone worth having. What the fuck do you even do all day? Fucking eating Pringles and playing your fucking Xbox. Why don't you get a real job, you lazy-ass waste of fucking life instead of mooching off of everyone else. With your bullshit, every time we go to a restaurant, and you gotta be all like "Oh, I'm a little short now, why don't I get it next time?" And next time never fucking comes! You suck! You asshole! .......Sorry... I got a little heated there. But seriously, hate that phone. In fact, when I have money, I think I actually do wanna spend the $200 to get my old phone fixed. It's just so bad. And the hoops I had to jump through to even get it... I just feel royally gypped and I've felt bad about it ever sense...
  14. I kill you with my stickers! So many stickers! You can't handle all the sticky!
  15. I think we're too cool for you. Yeah, I'm incredibly cynical. I'm proud of it. I like the sense of wit I have that comes with my cynicism. I'm like this: And I think that's hilarious. I don't know if it's sad, though, that my cynicism is one of the things I like most about myself. Then again, I enjoy being cynical, so should it be sad? I dunno. Well, I'm not sad about it, so I guess it's not sad.
  16. I don't know that I really dislike any apples, but I really like red delicious by themselves. Nice and sweet. Where I live, though, I tend to eat Fuji apples or golden delicious. They're the most widely available here in Japan. They're good too. There's one kind I like with donuts in the fall, but I'm not sure of the specific type. Maybe gala or mcintosh? They're, like, red with some yellow mixed in. Which, I know, describes a number of apples. I don't remember the name, though. Those are good in fall. For baking, I think less sweet apples are better. It's a better contrast of flavor, as sugar is often added. No need to add sugar to sweet.
  17. Well, having a special power is sort of part of being an alicorn, is it not? I mean, I will say that they don't need to be OP, and actually doing that makes them weaker as a character, but if they're just like every other pony, what's the point in making them an alicorn? Having a name that matches the cutie mark and/or colors, isn't that, like, half of everyone? Most of the Apple family, most of the Pie family, Celestia and Luna, Shining Armor... As for how you can fix your OC, the colors are a bit drab. The azure mane and tail are good, but it's made of only cool colors. I recommend changing the eyes to a warmer color. Maybe a dark pink. That'll draw attention to the face and brighten up the appearance as well as make it more interesting. I know it seems to be based on Navi from OoT (and I apologize if I'm wrong) but, well, ponies aren't fairies, so... Also, I now want to put 20 hats on my OC. Right now. All the time.
  18. I do have to say, it takes practice, point blank. I've only ever really attempted to draw humans, ever. So I was very disappointed with myself when I found that I wasn't able to draw ponies very well at all. I still cringe at some of my first attempts. I looked up tutorials and tried to copy what I saw and I still sucked out loud. But recently, I've noticed that as I've practiced, I've gotten a lot better at drawing ponies. Compare this: To this: I haven't practiced ponies that consistently, but it did take practice to get to that point. A lot of it is memorizing proportions. One great resource I've found for that, that I still mentally reference to this day, is this one: https://mlpforums.com/uploads/post_images/img-3691787-2-img-2260905-4-Clipboard01.jpg I feel like this one outlines most of the most important points of drawing ponies and I think it's a great jumping-off point. As you gain more skill, you might want to look up other tutorials to advance, but I think that this keeps it simple for beginners. I'd also study a little bit of horse anatomy. I found that my ponies got better after attempting to draw some real life horses. They were terrible, terrible pictures, but it did help me to realize things about horse anatomy that I hadn't before and helped me to learn to draw better ponies. It's easier to exaggerate reality than it is to realize exaggeration. Hope this helps!
  19. I like both. They both fill different roles. More realistic styles of art can be used for more serious storylines, while still including action at a lower cost than producing special effects or risking the lives of actors. Comedy, however, doesn't tend to work as well, here. The characters don't tend to be elastic or exaggerated enough. Cartoony characters, however, are perfect for comedy. There are a number of factors which work in favor of cartoony characters being used to comedic ends. These, however, don't tend to be suited as well to drama, although it can work if peppered in. That's the beauty of animation: you can do almost anything with it.
  20. Many bases include both a horn and wings. This is because people might want to use them for either a unicorn or a pegasus, yet can both be omitted for an earth pony. There's nothing saying you can't use both These, for example: http://alari1234-bases.deviantart.com/art/MLP-Base-Am-I-balding-527850550 http://huggie-bases.deviantart.com/art/MLP-Base-3-517333761 http://dashiebases.deviantart.com/art/MLP-Base-IS-JUST-A-FUCKING-DRESS-516816940 They all have both horns and wings. Maybe not all of those you look for will, but try looking more broadly rather than looking, specifically, for alicorns. You'll probably find more material that way. Both these DeviantArt groups are good resources for pony art: http://mlp-bases.deviantart.com/ http://mlp-vectorclub.deviantart.com/ Though, the first one will probably be more useful for you if you're creating OCs. Hope this helps!
  21. Tender Heart Helping Hooves Mollycoddle Comfort Wish Care Dreams Or, I guess, any combination of these words could work. Hope this helps!
  22. I have a character I created a while ago. There are a couple sketches I did here: https://mlpforums.com/topic/121931-sketches-of-an-oc-of-mine/#entry3513312 Originally, I was gonna have her be a unicorn, but of my group of characters, I already have a unicorn. I thought I'd make her an earth pony specializing in love chemistry (making potions and stuff.) The kind of placeholder name I have for her is Love Wish. I haven't thought that much about her story or conflicts, yet. I know that'd be helpful in creating a name, but I just don't quite have it, yet. Aside from that, I have a number of palettes I've come up with for her. I can't really seem to decide. Descriptions are contained with the pictures in each spoiler box. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Base credited to: http://raini-bases.deviantart.com/ I think the ones I like the best are 1, 4, 6 and 7, though as I said, 4 might look too much like Diamond Tiara. But among those, I can't really decide. I sorta like the idea of having a darker colored pony. Of my other 3 characters, two are lighter colored and one is darker colored, so it might bring about some balance. I just didn't know if she looked too dark, for whatever reason. She's also very gentle, calm, collected and has a very sweet yet soft-spoken personality. I wondered if colors this intense would clash with her personality. I do think 7 looks very romantic, I will say. Anyway, please let me know what you think. What do you think about a name? Which color palettes do you like and which don't you like? Why? What works and what doesn't? Frankly, I'm having trouble deciding. Thanks!
