    If you are known as an honest person then simply saying "Nice (insert something)" Will floor me. I get really paranoid from compliments and will often doubt sincerety.     I think that it's not the fact that someone is a nerd or geek. It's all about being a confident and pleasent person. Nobody really cares that much about whether you have an interest in abstract math or whether you simply love to do some light reading. Besides, ones definition of cool and being a nerd is subjective, and letting petty things such as opinions on what you are bother you, is a waste of time and can spawn unneeded insecurities
