  1. While I like the idea of School Daze, I feel like this was very poorly written--which is sad, because I was so excited for it! It's not like people were out of character, but because it had the same issues that Power Ponies did: everyone's problems revolved around their strengths. I just feel like it could have been handled better overall. As for Mud Briar, I actually like him! I find him pretty relatable. Lots of aspie qualities.
  2. May I just say that I actually really like this episode? I can kind of understand why others don't, but I really miss past episodes like this one where everyone is challenged with their aspects. I don't mind Bulk and Fluttershy being the other two on the Ponyville team; these two being here was just a way to portray things a little smoother, especially with Dash making a decision that really conflicted with her goals. It's really good to see the Wonderbolts grow past that cloudy "do what you have to win" state of mind more than once, too. I hope to see some great character development in the newer seasons!
  3. Hello and welcome! Hope you enjoy your stay here!
  4. I hope y'all don't mind if I add on to this, but may I say that I've noticed EG Dash is more like Seasons 1-3 Dash?
  5. I agree with this, yeah! Not only was he beautifully animated to show so much emotion in each frame that was unique to his character, you get a lot of funny moments even though we all know he's the "bad guy" of the film. I'm also a bit of a sucker for lackluster-type villains, though, so I know I can't say much. I find it so much more entertaining when they aren't powerful on their own. There's a lot more to a character that actively uses other people--or ponies!--to their own benefit. It really shows you what makes them the villain in the first place! Really good change of pace from the physically powerful ones that we've had in the season finales past.
  6. Thanks, I'm doing well! What about you? It's nice to meet you!
  7. While I didn't like the first Equestria Girls movie, Rainbow Rocks is probably my favorite thing about the entire series. They turned a poorly written redemption into a realistic slow process where the character tries to better themselves and where others need time to forgive them for their mistakes. It shaped Sunset into my favorite character! With that being said I really dislike Starlight for the complete opposite process. She never really seemed to care about the things she's done and uses it as a joke in the worst kind of way; I can't tell if it's poor writing or just a bad character in general and that is super frustrating to me. I kind of wish they would just get rid of her and not consider them a new main character. "Fluttershy Leans In" is an episode that made me think that the writing team was back on their feet! ... until the rest of the season happened. Ouch. So much for character development. On that same note, re-watching the first few seasons made me realize that Rainbow Dash had a lot of relatable qualities in the beginning, but as the series went on into the later seasons I feel like a lot of those are lost; this could be because of the writing that I mentioned earlier. The comics are amazing and I'm very sad that the animated series doesn't use any of the content from them. Celestia is a very flat character in the animation, but so very fleshed out in the comics!! I highly recommend reading them. Chrysalis is the best villain and honestly the most cunning. Discord's actor is amazing, but they still can't top the queen. I actually like the idea of Twilight becoming an alicorn, but I think that "The Princess of Friendship" sounds very lackluster in comparison to the other princesses and their titles. Finally, the MLP Movie was absolutely amazing and I cannot even tell y'all how many times I've watched it!
  8. I haven't seen any of the leaks, but I will say that I really enjoy the idea of integrating details from the recent movie into the new season. Very smart move on their part and a delight to see.
  9. I usually draw mine as a honey dipper with two bees!
  10. Thank you all so much!
  11. Not sure how I feel about this episode from its two-cent summary alone, so here's to seeing how it all turns out! Can't wait.
  12. To be honest, I think it's hard to pinpoint a certain thing about the movie that was better than the rest! The music, the animation, the expansion of the overall lore... all of it was just amazing. What they didn't do for the characters in a new-fans-seeing-it-for-the-first-time kind of way, they made up for by showing realistic conflict between close friends. No matter how I look at the movie I still find something beautiful. I'm really hoping that their next film has just as much love put into it as this one!

    Hello!

Hey guys, I'm new here! It's so nice to meet all of you. I finally kicked my butt in gear with talking to other MLP fans, nice! I've been a fan for about eight years now, but I haven't really dipped into the fandom before. I'm 27 with my 28th birthday coming this June and I love to cook, draw, play games, and read! I'll try to be active in the forum here, but feel free to poke at me if you'd like. Thanks!
