Having said all of that, I hate the MCU incarnation of Spider-Man. I know I'm in the minority on this opinion, but I thought Homecoming was a poor film (Aside from Keaton's Vulture) and the worst film in the Spider-Man franchise. Far From Home was a bit better, but I also found it kind of hard to watch. To me these films don't feel cinematic. They feel like slightly bigger budgeted tv episodes with a dull cinematography, bad/cheap attempts at comedy, lackluster CGI, forgettable action and score, way too many MCU references/connections/easter eggs, and the choice to turn Spider-Man into basically Iron Man Jr.
After Far From Home came out and Sony extended their deal with Marvel Studios, I said that the next Spider-Man film would be the first one I skipped in theaters. However, I had to change my mind with the news last year that they're basically doing a live action Spider-Verse movie with returning villains from the Raimi and Webb films and the extremely likely return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. I can't pass on seeing them return (Especially Tobey's Spidey). And I will say that the recent trailer for the film was pretty good overall. Can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm actually excited now for an MCU Spider-Man film. Just please let him be Spider-Man this time, not Iron Man Jr.
Just me rambling on today about my favorite character and his upcoming movie. :0)
