1. I was vegan for 3 years. Now I live in an area where being vegan meant having nothing readily available, so I had to switch over to vegetarian. I am currently vegetarian, but I am moving to a city and may go back to being vegan once I get there. I have been off of meat for 6.5 years now.

  2. Pinkie Pie. I love that she sings randomly (my husband also does this) and she embodies a large part of me. The part of me that loves to laugh and just be an overall happy person who brings happiness to others. Also, she's adorable.

    Though I would say Big Mac is a very close second for me. I started to love him in "Lesson Zero", when he takes the doll after the spell wears off. :lol:

  3. You can't really start a serious conversation about being a brony.

    The way your parental figure will find out will either be from catching you watching the show or from you asking for or buying pony merch from a store or online or some such thing (if you ever do that). If something like that happens then your parent will likely ask, "You like My Little Pony?" and you can nonchalantly and without shame answer, "Yes." And there you have it. Problem solved.

    Just don't hide it and all will fall into place.

  4. I had been resisting the urge to love and collect MLP for just over a year when I finally caved ... last Wednesday.

    Hubbs and I got bored and went on a late-night trip (think, like, 3 a.m.) to Wal-Mart. I decided to mosey over and see what they had in the MLP section. Funny too, because it was blocked off with yellow Caution tape, but I throw Caution to the wind and went in anyway. Next thing I knew I had Pinkie Pie & Fluttershy MLP figures and a Fashion Style Rainbow Dash in my hands. And hubbs was resigning himself to the thought that this was happening. :D

  5. I'd buy a house, because renting blows. I'd set aside a large chunk for my sister, because she's awesome. We would likely also break a chunk off for my husband's family (ugh, why do you have so many siblings?!). I'd get myself some new gadgets and set aside money for typical entertainment/want stuff (tattoos, computers, collections, etc.) and the rest would go into a 401K or some other such retirement plan so that I don't have to work until I'm 80.

  6. A large amount of the internet populous doesn't go further than Facebook (MAYBE Twitter). The internet is big and scary and mostly nerds rule it. I knew what bronies were as soon as I heard the term used because a close friend of my husband is a brony. However, before finding this forum, I had never even heard the term "pegasister". I guess it's all about which content you run into!

    Don't be offended. Like you said, the people who don't know what it is are more open-minded about it. That's good. We want more people to, at least, be accepting of us and not treat us like we're mental.

  7. In some ways I take my cartoons seriously. In other ways, not so much.

    I take them seriously in the fact that I seriously love them and I stand up for my right to decide to continue watching them, despite the fact that I'm a grown and married woman. My mother particularly doesn't really care for my habit of still loving cartoons and "childish" video games (Pokémon), but I never back down on the fact that these are the things that I like and no one will ever be given the means to make me feel bad about it.

    I don't take them seriously enough to, say, think of it realistically. I will pursue light-hearted debates about shows and characters, but ultimately I treat it as a loved hobby and not necessarily a major part of my personality (at least, no one single show ... being a fan girl is a major part of my personality, but being a fan of one specific show isn't).

    That said, I think it's fine to take a cartoon seriously if you have proper reason to do so. If it's something that has greatly affected you and is a large part of who you are, then who is to say you can't take it seriously?

  8. You misspelled "dumber". Bahahahaha!

    In all seriousness, this was an ultimately poorly done experiment, as others have pointed out. When I was in high school some uppity university posted a study saying people who consumed their own snot gobs gained intelligence.

    Your intelligence isn't affected by what you eat. ^_^ Your bandwidth is.

  9. It IS my opinion. And I haven't been presented a good enough reason or argument for it to change. Thus I still don't see where the love is from.

    And that is that.

    You see?

    Did I say everyone's opinion was wrong? Newp.

    If you wanna quote my post, read it first

    shocker: this is a confession thread, not a fight over best pony thread.

    Oh no, I'm referencing your FIRST post. The one where you said, AND I QUOTE:

    [font=helvetica" data-date=" arial, sans-serif">

    I don't understand why anyone could possibly like Rainbow Dash

    You're basically saying no one has any legitimate reason to like her. Just because you don't feel they're legitimate doesn't change the fact that other people do. I'll accept that you just chose poor wording here, but there it is.

    And then there's:

    [font=helvetica" data-date=" arial, sans-serif">

    so many negative qualities and not any good ones

    Which is saying that Loyalty, Understanding, Compassion & Determination aren't good qualities, because you plainly said Rainbow Dash has NO good qualities, yet all of the qualities I just listed have been shown by Rainbow Dash at one point or another.

    I'm not arguing or fighting for "best pony". I'm debating, because I disagree and I think that if you really feel RD isn't worth liking, you should be able to defend that opinion. I apologize if you're upset over it, but your sarcasm doesn't really apply here.

  10. This didn't change my opinion in the slightest. Making the group well-rounded is not a reason to like a pony. ~

    LOL. Maybe not for you, but lots of people like Rainbow Dash and it's kind of rude to say that the reasons they like her are illegitimate. It's okay to state your opinion, but it's not polite to try to say that everyone else's opinion is wrong because it isn't the same as yours.
